Tried this place for some classic French food! It did not disappoint. We needed a classic French bistro type place to check off some items we wanted to try on our trip and this once looked like it would fit the bill. I loved the homey feel of the inside seating and I really liked the open windows seats which unfortunately were all taken. The service was nice and fairly quick and friendly. My first Kir Royale cocktail drink was here. And it was just lovely and fruity and bubbly! Crème de cassis liqueur and some bubbly poured on top. Just a classic French drink ! We ordered the French onion soup and the escargot also here. Both dishes were served up steaming hot and just amazingly decadent! Served with French baguettes of course! The soup was nice Rich brothy and cheesy and had nice chunks of bread inside and plenty of onions. Super tasty. The escargot were in a garlic butter and out of the shell so we didn't have to mess with the fiddly part! These were simply Devine and I ate them all! The buttery aspect gets you every time! Served up with more bread than we could eat . This was a pretty hearty snack. It's definitely a great place to get some classics and brunch and a bunch of other great menu options. With all the French decor too it was so nice to feel like I was eating this in France . They had some amazing looking desserts but we were all buttered up ! Cafe de Paris is a must in the QC!

We stopped by this place to buy some pastry. The owner made some weird joke and corny so we didn't feel funny, but we were just getting along with because my friend had already paid her pastry by hoping the pastry, she bought will be good but honesty if I was there at the beginning, I would tell her not to buy it, but it is ok she has to learn by herself.

Great wine! We visited this winery, definitely check it out!

Small restaurant but full of personality! This was our first time in Canada, we chose to go to Old Quebec because of all the history and the architecture of the buildings! This restaurant had that European feel and we had our first dinner there. We thought people exaggerated about the French Canadians not being nice... sadly we found out as soon as we arrived at the hotel that it was true. But when we got to this restaurant, they were very nice despite our apprehension when we walked in. We don't speak French but fortunately they spoke English here. We had pizza and salad and delicious wine! The waiters here were super friendly! We would definitely recommend this place!

While walking around Quebec, we kept looking at menus posted outside some of the restaurants before coming to this Cafe. The menu looked like a good selection of items, both regular fare and fancier food. I joked earlier about eating some "Frenchie-food", or some local Quebecian dishes. So, we went in. I liked the feel of it immediately, and the host was quick to greet us and seat us. There was a guy singing and playing guitar, both French language and American rock standards. He was very good, and entertaining. Service is by committee here, so someone is always coming by making sure you have water or if you need another drink. I had a red ale. For appetizers, I wanted to try the Soupe aux Pois Canadienne (Canadian Pea Soup), which gave me my local food. We also ordered Courgettes Gratinees (Baked Zucchini with cheese and tomato sauce). For my main entree, I chose Beef Bourguignon. My travel girl chose from the Prix Fixe menu, Puff Pastry with tomato and basil app and Quebec Pork Chop in maple sauce for a main. Comes with dessert. Which was pie and chocolate sauce. THE FOOD: The pea soup was delicious. Not creamy like American pea soup. This was pea heaven, wonderful in its simplicity. The Baked zucchini was also fantastic. Tons of flavor in a great rich tomato sauce and cheese bake to perfection. This was the first time I've had Beef Bourguignon and I gotta say, it was superb. The sauce was rich and savory, thick with flavor and just made the meat even better. It came with baby carrots, French beans and red potatoes. All were delicious. Travel girl's puff pastry was light and airy with great tomato and basil flavor. The Quebec Pork chop was done perfectly, moist and tasty. Pie good. We were not in a rush and the restaurant was 3/4 full, so food was slow coming out, but we didn't mind. It was a great atmosphere and a beautiful day. Service was sooo excellent. We were made to feel like regular customers, and had fun.

Wait staff were very nice and tolerated our inability to speak French. I had Poutine au poulette croustillant. Great french fries, crispy chicken, gravy and cheese curds were excellent.

We found this lovely place on Rue St Louis and were very pleased with the wonderful and super friendly service. We had the quiche and crepe dinner specials, which were very tasty. The Black Forest cake was excellent and the chocolate pudding was good. Try the unique Quebec ice cider as an aperitif. We sat by the window and enjoyed the view and flavors!

Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat and liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, and crouton to round up the order. We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich and flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham and the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish. Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated and grilled with maple and tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles and textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, and then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables. We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls and decor exudes with classic charm.

By the time we were finished our meal, there was a half block line out the door. This is a tightly packed restaurant with several 2 seater and some 4 seater booths with a bit of a mezzanine for customers. The staff are super efficient, friendly, and delivered the food quickly. This has a more diner feel but with the Quebec French feel. We had the: - house lemonade - soup of the day (pea) - la cochonne; this is a breakfast poutine with eggs on top, very filling and delicious, ham, sausage, etc. all chopped into bite sized and topped with sauce and cheese, for poutine lovers - le migneron; this is a standard looking breakfast with french toast, homestyle potatoes, veggies, ham/cheese/eggs, and more maple syrup on everything, best option if you don't know what you want to eat while getting the feel of the place This is another great place to visit while in Quebec, this is located in Old Quebec Ports and the walk leads you through some of the older buildings of the city as well as past many art galleries. We ordered the French onion soup and a classic crêpe with egg, ham, cheese, and seasonal vegetables. The French onion soup was absolutely outstanding--easily one of the best I've ever had. The crêpe was equally delicious and far better than what we typically find back home. The only options for the egg were scrambled or over-easy, which felt a bit limited. Also worth noting: no Coke Zero, but Diet Coke is available. Overall, this spot is a must-visit if you're craving authentic crêpes and exceptional French onion soup.
