The best items were the carrot cake, the birthday cupcake, and the s'mores brownie. The s'mores brownie was probably the best out of all 3! The marshmallow in the middle was so fluffy and perfect! I never had anything like it before! The bottom brownie part was rich and fudge like! The fudge layer on top was so DELICIOUS! The actual cake part to the carrot cake was one of the best I ever had! I do prefer a more cream cheesy frosting, but the icing was still good! The cupcake was so moist, and the confetti cake was delicious! The only drawback is everything was really pricy especially the cakes in the cup. I felt everything was a few dollars overpriced, but it wouldn't stop me from coming back. I HIGHLY Recommend Cakes by Nerwan in Astoria!

Folks who are looking to satisfy their sweet tooth can score a cupcake, pastries and all of the above until midnight every night. While they utilize the natural lighting during the daytime, the evening is drowned out by this florescent lighting that makes me less interested in dining in. There is plenty of seating but just as awkward as the lighting is also the lukewarm service. It was like a late trip to the office, where the lighting was still on and not-so-theolled colleagues there to greet us. Thankfully their dessert selection is always on point. Their endless variety of cupcakes range from red velvet to biscoff and their custom cakes are impressive as well. True to their name, the "layered" sundaes are a perfect "dessert in a cup" option. Nutella and lotus are popular ones but the galaxy is the one to get. I've been told the brownies and donuts are also good, but I will reserve that for my next (late night) visit.

The cannoli on top was delicious but the rest of the cake fell short. The cake itself was dry and crumbly and had an odd flavor. The cheecake wasn't cooked all the way through it seemed so it was a goopy mess in the center so the whole cheesecake slice had fallen flat by the time we got home. There was an almond cake slice we took home as well and that tasted more citrus than almond. It was good but nothing to write home about. Took home some tulumba as well and that was very good. The guy helping us didn't seem to really know too much about the cakes or what was a customer favorite... But at the least he was handsome. Maybe their Greek specialities are what they are primarily known for, if so, I'll be back to try those and re-review.

However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too.
