Sunset soda. Longboard lager.
Carolyn L.

We had people visiting from overseas and kelowna and they chose this place as it was near their accommodations. They got to the lower mainland late so this was an ideal place to meet since it stayed open till midnight or so. We were a big group of 15 or so and we were spilt into two groups. Lucky they managed to seat us nearby. My SO and I already ate as it was like 10 pm when we were there so we only had drinks and appies. The others had proper meals like burgers, salads and pasta. They also managed to squeeze in desserts before the dining room was closed. The avocado dip we had was delicious. I'll order that again. I had the sunset soda which was really refreshing. This cactus club is really nice and spacious. There were other groups celebrating birthdays when we were there. There are small intimate tables lining the walls as well as booths by the side and tables in the middle which can be combined for big groups. There is another section near the door which seemed to be more for drinks. Service was good and the vibe was chill. Plenty of parking out there in the mall big lot. Definitely recommended for big groups.

The food is usually good, if a bit on the pricey side. Service is always lovely. I don't think I ever tasted anything bad in the restaurant, but their takeout is hit and miss. It's happened a few times to receive incomplete orders or food with quality issues (undercooked chicken, rubbery scallops). So, to sum up: restaurant food is 5*, takeout is 3*, averages to 4*.

Went with my son for an after school treat and booked the reservation for 2:45. We've been a patron for many years and go often to various locations. My son had the spaghetti portofino, and crab cake frites. My son has some left over and he didn't like the shrimp nor tomatoes, so I picked a couple of little bites once home my husband ate the leftover spaghetti. The dish was very very oily, the cherry tomatoes in the description are just regular tomatoes. Around 5:30 pm my son started to complain about stomach aches. He started to vomit every 5-15 minutes in the trash can up to 11 pm. I called to let them know, spoke to Madison to ask if they can check if the dish is expired or not cooked properly, I do not wish my one else to go through this. She said she will reach out the next day and I haven't heard anything yet. i woke up at 3:30 am and ran to the bathroom, my son was on the can so i vomited into the sink. my son vomited in my bed as well. I found buckets and placed them beside us. we continued to vomit through out the night, it was painful. Needless to say I missed work and my son missed school. my husband had to cut out the morning as he had diarrhea! I've never experienced this level pf food poisoning, im still in bed. I'm a bit upset as I feel they are brushing me off, at least refund my bill.

Came here for the first time since it opened up recently. I thought it was super cute. Wasn't as loud as I thought it would be but it was super busy for a Sunday evening. Our server was great but the service was a little slow I noticed even with a decent amount of staff available. The food overall was pretty good too (this takes a lot for me to say considering I kinda gave up on chain restaurants being a foodie lol)

I'm not a cactus club fan but this location is actually decent. Friendly staff and beautifully designed. The space makes more sense and has an open space concept which already feels better, and the interior was designed to be versatile so great for usual daily restaurant business, party, and weddings. Have an aesthetic and quality of things seems better than most cactus club. Food actually tastes good, portion isn't big but a good amount. BUSY BUSY so best to make a reservation. Parking lot right outside and super accessible with bus and Skytrain across the street. Went on a regular night but heard the happy hours are great.

What a great addition to the restaurant scene in Coquitlam. The place is packed on its first official day open. Good location and super friendly staff. We'll be back. PS. The sound dynamics are amazing you can have a conversation without screaming at each other. PSS. My 11-year-old granddaughter tried sushi for the first time so that's a win.

I've been to almost every Cactus Club in the lower mainland and the newest edition to the Cactus family was a huge success tonight! They were extremely busy but the staff handled themselves amazingly. They had a minor hiccup of running out of the feature menu item Hot Chicken + Pickles but that didn't take away from an over solid night of food and drinks. Our waitress was top notch and on her game all night just as how you would expect at a Cactus Club. We ordered the Yam Fries, Prawn Crunch Roll and the Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps to start, all three were amazing. I was a little sad I couldn't try the Hot Chicken + Pickles, hopefully i'll get over it because I absolutely love Nashville Hot Chicken! For our mains we ordered two Blackened Creole Chicken's and one Feenie Burger! You can never go wrong with Cactus Club's Blackened Creole Chicken with buttered mashed potatoes and asparagus, it always hits the spot, I'm the biggest fan of the creole butter, I could literally put it on anything and I'd love it. The Feenie Burger was solid as it always is, I love sautéed mushrooms on a burger it also has aged cheddar, smoked bacon, red relish, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and comes with sea salted fries, the fries were hot, crispy and fresh, not spectacular I'd probably get the Yam Fries with the burger next time instead! For dessert we shared the Chocolate Lava Cake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar and the New York Cheese Cake, the desserts were great, the Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream that came with the Lava Cake and Crunch Bar was insanely good, I could eat just a bowl of that Ice Cream on it's own. The cheesecake's raspberry compote wasn't very sweet it was more of a tart compote which was good but I would prefer a sweeter one. All in all it was a great experience, what you would expect from a Cactus Club restaurant. I'll definitely be back. (Also a bonus tip, ask them what days they have half priced bottles of wine, because when they do it's an amazing deal, they also re-cork your bottle if you finish drinking and want to take your bottle home with you)

We had an incredible time dining here at the new Coquitlam Cactus Club. The location is awesome and the service was great. The food was great too, definitely would come back again.

The food is so bad. We got a bunch of different dishes and it just wasn't good. You have better luck at other locations. The service is good tho. This spaghetti portofino was soooo oil and watery and didn't taste good.

Was pleasantly surprised to be able to book a rezzie on their website 15 minutes out on a Saturday afternoon. Ambiance was nice, and service was crazy quick. Their menu had a good selection of brunch items with really reasonable prices. I ordered the smoked salmon Benny and was thrilled to see the hashbrowns were actually tots! When I say they were the star of the show, I'm not kidding. They were so perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and so soft inside and absolutely seasoned to perfection. There were also so many on my plate I couldn't finish the all. The Benny was just okay. Eggs were cooked well, English muffin was under toasted, and overall it was on the cold side. Hubby ordered the classic breakfast. It also came with the same perfect tots, his over easy egg was a bit over cooked and he wasn't a fan of the bacon. The focaccia on the other hand was delish. Soft and super flavourful. We had a 25% off coupon from the Community Values book which made this extra reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!

This place was great…read more I joined some friends for cocktails and was pleasantly surprised at how good this bar was. The drinks were really good. My favorite was one was actually offered on tap. They also allow you to purchase their drinks to go (the ones on tap.) They have a fridge with all their on tap offerings. They also have pre packaged mixed boxes to go. This place is far from where I live, so going often isn't an option, but I will definitely drop by and purchase the drinks to go. The service was really good as well. They forgot about one of my drinks and took if off my bill. Now that is service you don't see often anymore. My waitress was also very nice. I should note that it is a really small place, but once the weather gets better they have a patio that would allow for more people. Currently, the tables hold 4-6 people and you can only stay for 2 hours. They are pretty firm about it unlike other restaurants. It's because they don't really have space for more than 4 tables/groups at a time. It's tiny! Another cool aspect is that they let you order food from other restaurants and have it delivered so you can enjoy it while you drink. They do not have meal offerings so are willing to accommodate. Very cool. Give this place a go! Great drinks. Good service.

A lot of their product is seasonal so right now there's a lot of Mexican themed creations. It sounds Like they'd like to do Japanese next. There's plenty of choices to choose from. I found their cocktails not to be too sweet which is just the way I like it. The waitress was so nice and let me sample a bunch of flavours on tap. The coconut pineapple rum tastes like a vacay. Gin and juice is their signature and a close second. I went with their tamarind peach which was vodka based. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the summer night breeze. They have some small bites available like warm bread and hummus, charcuterie etc. There's also pizza made to order from the specialty pizza place a few doors down. The only thing that irked me a bit were the pesky fruit flies when we sat inside. I will def be back and be bringing friends!

My family from out of town wanted to go to Keg because they had great memories from before and wanted to relive that moment. Our server was very professional and handled us very well. My brother-in-law and father-in-law wanted the 18 oz prime rib. They were super lucky, as it was the last 2 portions left. Everyone ordered steaks (even the kids' meals had steaks). The only complaint I would have is their NY peppercorn steak. They literally coat the steak in whole peppercorns, which is crazy to me. I would have thought it would be more like a peppercorn sauce, but I had to scrape off the whole peppercorns because it was really overpowering. But everything else was good and done to their liking. My family from out of town spoke highly about it again :)

Overall would return and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night.

Part 2 of 2: Some…read moredishes I quite liked, such as Keto Grillin' (my favourite), Macro Shred, Paleo Foody, The Sea Ghost, Vegan Pump, Italian Passion, Iron Macros, and Seaside Paleo; but the majority of the dishes were so-so and not worth ordering again, and the Globe Trottin' Keto was downright nasty (I don't know if it had gone bad, but it tasted somewhat rotten). Also, the wraps were awful -- dry and bland. I initially really liked the Daybreak wrap -- it was moist, cheesy, and flavourful, but when I ordered it again, it was dry and bland like the others. Conclusion: some of their food is pretty good (for the most part, they do steak, chicken, and potato/yam mashes well), but most of it is meh, and for $12.99 to $15.99 per meal, it is not worth ordering. And if I do find something I really like, I can't always re-order it because the menu changes every week. Despite being disappointed with the majority of the dishes, I decided to place an order last week. I ordered: my favourites Keto Grillin' and Macro Shred; Grecian Keto (chicken souvlaki with cheese and zucchini fritters, cauliflower hummus, and tzatziki), Those Thighs Oh My (paprika-seasoned chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, grilled zucchini, and red onion), T-Rex Goes Hunting (beef and broccoli stir fry over brown rice), and Sexy and You Know It (blackened chicken breast over pasta with sun-dried tomato sauce). The T-Rex Goes Hunting and Sexy and You Know It dishes were quite good (I'd re-order again), but I was disappointed with the Grecian Keto and Those Thighs Oh My. That being said, would I order from them again? Probably, from time to time. However, I will not be regularly ordering from them as there aren't always dishes I like, and when I try something new, the majority of the dishes are just so-so. Not bad, but not worth the price. Give them a try, and if you like their food, awesome! Note that they only deliver on Sundays and Mondays (you must place an order by Thursday of the previous week), and the delivery fee is a very reasonable $5 for orders under $100 (free delivery over $100).
