Smog checks can be a little stressful at times, especially when you have to now do STAR certifications. So I found this place when searching for smog locations in my general area; finding that this place was literally a block from my home. When I showed up, I immediately was greeted by the inspector who guided my car to pull in and I was directed to their seating area. All and all, I was in and out in under 20 minutes. The clerk at the register made sure I was aware of my options to pay the renewal with the DMV as soon as possible - giving the recommendation that if you have AAA, that is the quickest, considering when they electronically send your smog check to the state, it takes 24 hours to update in the system if you renew it a DMV kiosk. Showing up at the DMV without an appointment, we all know that takes hours. So inside of a whole hour, I was able to get my smog check completed AND renew my tags at AAA as they were handed to me there at the counter. I have to say, CA Express Smog really went out of their way with their customer service which is far beyond any other smog location I've been to before. I can't recommend this place enough! They have 3 machines, so you will never wait more than 30 minutes (realistically 15) to get your smog check done. The customer service is phenomenal. The sweet lady that assisted me was very patient and attentive. You fill out the paper work as you wait for the check to happen, you get your results and a certificate with receipt very quickly.
