This is a great pub style restaurant with some pretty good daily specials. The drinks are affordable and the atmosphere fun. Service is quick and the homemade clam chowder is excellent. I would recommend the oldest pub in Cape May as a fun lunch spot. read more

I ordered hot and the temperature was perfect. We went thru 2 dozen very easily. The mother in law wanted to come to this place and it did not disappoint. Started off with the bar pizza and it was better than most places that only serve pizza. I also got the c view cheesesteak I forgot to take a picture. I got it as a wrap and the waitress warned me it was extra spicy as a wrap and she was not lying it was super spicy but super good! Definitely gave me a nice sweat but was probably the best cheesesteak wrap you could have. If you like good bar food and some cold beers look no further. read more

Ordered two carry-out pizzas tonight (July 14, 2021) and probably the worst pizza ever. I think it was frozen pizza which they heated up.... the crust was like cardboard! Some places try to be all things to all people. Not the C View. Great cheese steaks. Real good chicken salad. Had an outstanding corn beef hoagie with cole slaw and thousand island dressing the other night. But no Italian hoagies, shrimp salad, or crab salad, and that's okay. Do what you're good at. Beer selection is real good, too. No pretension here. But the way, if you want to watch the Eagles (Birds, Iggles) here, probably a good idea to get there early. read more

Great place to hang out and have drinks. Food was brought out cold. Cold nachos. Everything was brought out cold to the table like they forgot to heat it. Actually had a chill to it. Amazing food! We got the Hot and Honey wings and they were to die for:) but unfortunately our experience was less than satisfactory. The service was poor at best. The C View is our favorite place to in Cape May. It's like a corner bar in a big city. Everything we've had was exactly what I'd expect in a corner bar. Good food at reasonable prices, cold drinks, and very friendly service. One night I couldn't decide so I just went for the 9" pizza, BOOM! another home run. If your are looking for a high-end overly priced place at the Jersey Shore, this isn't it. But what I like is, if I go in a place and there are a lot of local customers or regulars, I'm in the right place. read more

We chose this place as an option for Lunch after my nephew's graduation from the US COAST GUARD training academy. We walked in and although there was a woman at the hostess stand she did not greet us when I asked about sitting she told us to just sit. We were a party of 6 and saw two small tables placed together and then single tables around it. With 4 adults and 2 children we couldn't fit at the table so we attached the nearby table and before we could finish the same woman came aggressively towards us saying "you can't just move tables, we get busy that table sits 6 fine you can't do that!" She was incredibly rude and walked away without helping us or listening to why we wanted to move the table. We decided we weren't comfortable because if our server is treating us like that within the first 3 min we weren't going to wait and see how she treated us once we were seated. As we left she shouted again very aggressively and sarcastically "have a nice day!" To that woman shame on you for being so nasty to a family with 2 small children, in your establishment to spend money and enjoy your food. To the restaurants management talk to this woman if she's having a bad day or has a miserable life find a different career choice. read more

Once again we went to C-View for dinner. Once again the food was delicious but the hostess who I met when I walked in was less than pleasant. I was not greeted or welcomed, she simply barked out "Name". When I inquired about the wait time she snapped back "you're next". While dining I took note of her demeanor. When she was chatting with other staff she was all smiles. Yet, when new diners came in she put her "pickle puss" face on and treated them the same way I was treated. Can't management speak with her? Many years ago there was a lovely older woman (possibly family) who was always welcoming and friendly. We've been visiting C-View for over 20 years. As a local... the c-view inn is always a spot to go. Unfortunately tonight, I came here with 6 people and waited over an hour and a half outside. When we got seated we waited 15 minutes just for a server to come to our table. When we received our food our waitress dropped the food and ran, she came back to see if we were missing anything, as we were missing an entire meal. She did not even know what we were missing and then told us the sandwich we had been missing would be right out. Our server avoided coming to the table until the sandwich was ready which was 20 minutes later and the entire party had already finished eating. We had also asked for water 3 times before actually receiving it. Good food, but extremely poor service. read more

WITS: Where is the sauce??? First let me start off by saying we ordered 50 wings. Honey bbq, plain, mild, and garlic parm, as well as a bowl of lobster bisque. I should have known going into this that this was going to be a disaster, mainly on the fact that they're breaded wings. That's a no go in any wing connoisseurs book. But, they claimed to have the "best wings" in Cape May, so we decided to give it a shot. When we got home we noticed they had forgotten our lobster bisque, so we called them and they apologized by saying "these things happen" and asked if we could come back to get it. We declined since it was about a 20 minute drive and our food was already luke warm at that, so they gave us a credit, which we used the next day. The wings were SO DRY! Not only dry as in there was no sauce on them, but dry as in the chicken was extremely dry as well. The mild wings tasted no different from the plain, the garlic parm had no taste whatsoever and the honey bbq had no sauce on them either. I expected to see these nice and sauced when we opened the containers, but there was NONE. The ranch is not home made, which if you're going to be known as a wing place, please make your own. There's nothing worse than getting wings and then tasting bottled ranch. These were honestly the worst wings I've ever had in my life. And I've had a lot. Now, the next day we went back for our lobster bisque. Let me tell you, have you ever put grated cheese into something and it didn't dissolve and left like little clumps in it? That's exactly what the consistency of this soup was. It was SO THICK, and had absolutely no pieces of lobster in it. I'm used to nice clumps of lobster when I order a lobster bisque. This had little tiny pearls of what they apparently call lobster but tasted nothing like it. Save yourself the trip and eat somewhere else. This place was a one and done for me. read more

I usually give a 4 star review for fabulous food and service. In this case, I give 4 stars because I love the joint. The food is fine, and the service is exactly what you'd expect at a local pub. My main go-to items are the peel and eat shrimp, the wings (for which they are famous), and the potato skins. I like the C-View because it is a comfortable place to pull up a chair after a long drive down to the Cape...or after a day at the beach. All the locals hang out there. We went last week for the rib special, and also got some spicy chicken wings. Since I always get chicken wings there, I wanted to try the ribs since that was the daily bargain. The soda is still flat, but at least I now know why it tasted like shit. IT'S NOT DIET COKE. Lesson Two: When I ask for Diet Coke and you have RC Cola, tell me it's RC so I can order something I might like. This is a great bar that has been know for their wings. It's always packed but you are able to sit outside on the steps and enjoy a drink before your table is ready. They always have friendly and great service. This is a great place to come down the shore if there is a game on and you want to slug back from beers. I have always loved the wings here but recently I had a batch that did not have a lot of sauce on them. They were more on the dry side. Great local place to go. A lot of locals come here and if you are down here enough to know certain people in the area, you will most likely see them here at the bar. Us locals have our spots and this is one of them. If your from out of town or a shoeB you may not appreciate it as much. Bar is great, had the coldest beer I had all year here. Staff is fine, it's a bar to eat at. The wings are the best wings is south jersey to me, better than anywhere else on the island. I never ordered anything but the wings here. They have multiple selection of sauces. I order suicide order of 10 and 10 teriyaki. Small place, Wednesday nights is packed due to 10 cents off wings.
