Half cooked Blueberry Pancake, runny eggs and bacon
    Lorrie D.

My sister in love told me about this breakfast spot (she knows I absolutely love breakfast ALL day). My husband and I selected this one out of the two she gave us in Tomball because it looked larger. We were greeted at the door and it was actually held open for us (my husband is using a walker right now). He ordered Sausage, eggs, toast and grits (I forget the meal name) and I ordered a single blueberry pancake, bacon and eggs over medium. Bacon was limp and tasteless, eggs were over soft and the pancake was cooked to fast as it was hard and shiny on top but I saw batter on the inside. The waitress noticed I didn't eat my food and asked if I wanted the eggs redone, I said no as it was too late. My husband said his grits and eggs were fine. His sausage, I sampled a piece, although greasy had a nice spicy bite of flavor. He had coffee but said it was watered down. I Would not return.

Lunch special dbl meat dbl cheese burger n fries.

Headed from Katy to Montgomery passing thru Tomball and it was lunch time so to Yelp I looked. Saw C C's Cafe. Good reviews and pics of the type joints I like. I'm not sure how long CC's has been there, but clearly a while. If you're into the fancy places with table clothes and black or white napkins depending on the color of your slacks, this ain't your place. This is about good southern home food. I went with one of their lunch specials, the dbl meat n cheese burger n fries. While waiting, I viewed the room and plates of food the waitresses were bringing out and it all looked good. This is just a good old school cafe. CFS, mashed potatoes, fried okra - all your local favorites your mama or grandma made for ya as a kid. The burger was just the right size for. Even took half home. Fries were "hand cut" - hot n crispy. Good 50/50 sweet tea. Breakfast menu loos good. A guy next to me had an order of French toast with his lunch. They're open from 6a-2p. Can't wait to try their breakfast next trip thru.

Genuine smile, attentive, and most importantly kept our drinks full. I love the foresty diner feel, lots of tables and option to sit at the diner in front of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the food just didn't hit the spot for us because we like flavor and nothing on our plates seemed to have any distinctive flavors to wow us. Pretty sure that is done on purpose so we can add salt and pepper and not everyone likes flavor but that's a big thing for me so I don't have to do anything extra. On top of this my burger was loaded with red onions that were not fully grilled and still had some of the tough skin on so when I would bite in onions rings were sliding out of the burger making it hard to enjoy. That's said, the bread had a perfect crunch and was not soggy. Overall, I would still come back and try other dishes to perhaps see if the flavors are there and I'd really like to try their all you can eat fish one day.

Wholly Crepe!! Russian Bistro - Tomball…read more What does authentic Russian hospitality look like? It looks less like a restaurant and more like a small doorway into someone's home -- a place where food is not rushed, and conversation is part of the meal. EXTERIOR: At first glance the building is modest, almost shy. A few outdoor seats, a quiet frontage, and public parking just around the corner. The kind of place you could easily pass -- and shouldn't. INTERIOR: Once you go up the steps, open the door, and the Northwest Houston surroundings fall away. The room feels lifted from a Russian village house, ( ): warm wood floors, wooden window frames, and intimate spacing. If you've ever been to Russia or watched any of the Russian movies or cartoons, this space will be familiar. Four tables and sixteen chairs, sit to the left; to the right, a narrow staircase evokes a country dacha, (). Larger tables gather families together, even a few small chairs waiting for children. Main room offers unique, (in glass shelves) Lomonosov Porcelain 1744 dishes, from St. Petersburg. As well as, carved wooden dishes, hand-painted details. Ask Mila and Bill for details. RUSSIAN HOSPITALITY: Arriving shortly after opening, Bill greeted me with a smile. Conversation came naturally and without agenda, as if we've known each other a long time. Mila, came out shortly after from the kitchen and I was able to converse with her in Russian and English. Both shared their meet story and how they decided to start this adorable business, May 2015. The story feels better heard from them directly. I set down to look at their abundant menu options. Meals here require patience. Many dishes are prepared from scratch. Part of Russian Hospitality is to welcome you in to their home, sit you down, spike up a genuine conversation and make a delicious home cooked meal. The rhythm slows; the outside schedule becomes irrelevant. I decided to order four of their popular dishes; #7 Tvorog Crepe, #24 Smoked Salmon Crepe, Siberian Pelmeni Bowl, and Cheburek. Let's go over each dish briefly. Gordon Ramsay once said - The way to know when something is cooked from scratch or microwaved is by the amount of steam or sizzling coming from the plate. #7 Tvorog Crepe - $12 Homemade Ricotta Cheese, Choice of Berries, Condensed Milk or Honey. I ordered mine with mixed berries, white powder and condensed milk. Something about taking each bite dipped in condensed milk with all the toppings makes your taste buds dance. Generous portions. #24 Smoked Salmon Crepe - $16 Tvorog Cheese, Salmon, Cherry Tomato, Green Onion, Salted Dill. As someone that adores a good salmon dish, clean flavors and a proper texture contrast -- delicate fish against warm crepe. The pairing works and generous portion. Siberian Pelmeni Bowl (24ct) - $17 Handmade dumplings in butter with your choice of dipping sauce. True Russian Hospitality - dish ware presentation along with the cuisine. The three-layered, brown color bowl looked presentable. Pelmeni looked freshly made and the steam coming from the bowl would make Gordon Ramsay smile. A slightly meatier filling would improve the ratio, but the flavor remains familiar and nostalgic. Cheburek - $9.50 Handmade Fried Meat Pie filled with Ground Beef & Onion. Served with your choice of dipping sauce. Good presentation and the taste was a good pairing combination with sour cream. Exterior texture was crispy, while the interior was soft. A fuller filling would strengthen it. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: While photographing the dishes, some cooled before I could eat them. Mila noticed and worried -- a small moment can be explained. If you've been around a Russian woman, you know they want nothing but the best for you when it comes to food. Wholly Crepe!! Offers some of the most unique and delicious cuisines for those who crave something different. Everything is made to order, from scratch, in small batches preserving authenticity and flavor. Come prepared to pause. The reward is a meal that feels cooked for you, not merely served to you.

The good: cute decor (there's a display case full of tea sets), and food flavors were fine (but…read morenothing to write home about). The bad: My first big gripe is the water. There's an expectation that in the US, tap water is free. Places that only have bottles typically will say, "We have bottled water; is that okay?" if you order water. This place didn't. They just brought out bottles. They're charging $2 each. Portion sizes are very small for what you're paying, and for the actual cost of the ingredients. My crepe was essentially a light snack for $14. Family friendliness is mixed. They're welcoming of kids, but there is no kids menu, and no changing table in the restroom. There's also only one customer restroom, so you're screwed if someone has to be in there for a while. The weird: The music did not match the theme or ambiance. Clearly they are trying to appeal to their customer base's favorite music by playing country hits, which felt a little out-of place. Like many other business in Old Town Tomball, this restaurant is in a converted house. You have to park in back but walk around to the front. Conclusion: If you live crepes or are looking specifically for Russian food, it's worth a try, but I'm not in any hurry to return.

When a place has a rating of 4.9 stars with 70 reviews, it's somewhere I want to be. We visited the Saturday before Christmas and were told upon walking in that it was a unique day with table service and a special Christmas brunch menu. I was a bit bummed about that because I wanted access to the full menu after attempting to come here for weeks, but there were still some really interesting things available, so my bummedness quickly subsided. Unfortunately, the real downside of visiting on a day like this was that the wait time was really rough. We weren't sure exactly how long it was but we know that it was within a few minutes of an hour, give or take, from the time we ordered our food until it arrived. I don't want to be too critical of a super successful small business over something like that. I fully appreciate that they wanted to do something unique and probably bit off more than they could chew in the process. Fortunately, we were able to re-schedule an appointment we had for later in the day, so no harm no foul. Once we did receive the food, it was obvious why the ratings are so high. The quality of everything was amazing. I loved stealing most of the bacon off my son's plate, and of course, also enjoyed a large portion of his snowman pancake while he was busy playing on his ipad. But for my own meal, I ordered the Beef Tenderloin Gremolata and loved every bite of it. For what tasted like really high end beef, it was only $24 too, which seems impossible in 2025. I'm happy we finally got to check this place out and we'd love to come back again on non holiday weekend!

We had actually started going to the original building before it burned down. I do think there is quite a change in the food from the original to the newer. But still very very good. This trip three was on the way to camping at the Texas Renaissance Festival. We wanted to get a quick meal in before we went off the grid. We ended up splitting a large chicken fried steak. As you can see from the pictures, large doesn't even do it justice. It covers a whole giant oval plate, and the sides are served in bowls on top of the steak as if it were a platter itself. This thing is massive, and can feed a family of four, or two. Really hungry adults. Their biscuits are also fantastic. Highly recommend some of those to go. The mac and cheese is pretty standard. The other side that we had this time was their daily special sweet potato crumble. It was very tasty! This place was pretty packed on a Friday afternoon, so I imagine peak times are equally or more so. There's a small lot in the front and more parking in the rear. The service was pretty quick, so I appreciated that. The staff was very knowledgeable on the food, and provide great suggestions. We didn't get any dessert this time, but it did look pretty good. Even the gravy has absolutely no taste or flavor. The presentation is still the same, but it tastes nothing like it used to taste. I'm guessing they're trying to save money against inflation by taking all the seasoning out of the prep or something. It's been a good while, but the last time I was there it tasted the same when we cooked it back in 1985. But they've evidently taken all the prep out of both the steak and the gravy now. So weird.
