Absolutely the worst breakfast I have ever had. We ordered the Felix omelette, which was dry. The veggies were still very crunchy as if they didnt let them grill long enough, and there were just too many. More veggies than egg! The worst thing were the OLD HOME FRIES! They were not soft in texture and very brown, not crispy and soft like most places. I called to inform the manager of the issue and she claims she boxed my bag up and saw nothing wrong. "Our potatoes come brown most times but they are fresh..... we cook the homefries in batches and they sell out.... they couldn't have sat too long." My point exactly! You cooked them in a batch and waited for ppl to order.... hence OLD HOME FRIES! You look at the pic and tell me what you think. Reminds me of when you bake a potato and let it sit in the oven on warm and it just turns hard and brown after a few hours. Yea.... never going there again. The smell of the place was the 1st thing I noticed. It's like a strong mothball odor...but don't let that stop you. This place has a railroad and oil/gas theme inside with no frills food. They serve breakfast and lunch only. I sampled some of their breakfast items which included the homemade biscuits and gravy with jalapeño sausage gravy on top, the homemade blueberry pancakes and the home fries. They do have breakfast platters which give you a combination of different items, but none of them had pancakes, so I ordered a la carte. The pancakes were good but nothing special. The biscuits and gravy was pretty good and even a little spicy, which was surprising. You could see the chopped up jalapeños in the gravy. The home fries here are chopped up potatoes with onions and were good, similar to ones I make at home. Overall, the service was attentive and friendly. Walked in zero wait time to be seated, waitress was super friendly and even called me hun, ordered a traditional double cheeseburger and fries, food came out in less than 10 mins, burger tasted sooo good! We have been going to CC's for several years. Recently there have been several changes in waiters. When we had the new waiters, orders have been messed up and you need to chase them down for coffee refills. Today we decided to look at the areas were the new waiters were not serving. The manager (I believe) came over and asked if she could help in her typical non-welcoming tone. We told her that we wanted to see who was waiting areas before setting down. She nastily told us to set wherever. We have put up with her attitude in the past, but today was the last day we will go to CC's. She was completely out of line. She could have asked why we wanted a particular waiter or if there have been problems. No, she did not care and took a tone that will keep us from coming back. read more

CC's is an adorable small spot to grab a deliciously HUGE breakfast. I would definitely recommend their pancakes. They are probably the best I have ever had. Also their biscuits are out of this world, but I really wish they made their own jelly in house. The biscuits are so huge u have to use multiple Smuckers packets. I started coming here about three years ago. I usually make it by here about once a month, lately once a week. Usually the service here is pretty good. I'm a disabled Veteran and a diabetic so there are certain things I can't eat. Today I ordered an omelet and it comes with all the usual sides and bread. I asked to substitute a small bowl of oatmeal instead of the usual carbs that come with the meal. So I get my omelet and a bowl of oatmeal and the charged me an extra $3. This place was bookmarked a while back on my yelp. Finally got to try it this morning with my food bestie, we get tired of eating at the same places. This place is a little hidden behind H-E-B in the same parking lot. We arrived and were greeted promptly. My friend ordered the chuck wagon in hindsight I should have done the same lol I ordered the hungryman. Eggs were cooked to order it came with a waffle and I got home fries. The waffle was soft and not crispy around the edges and it didn't taste bad just had a different flavor I guess more like pancakes? My home fries weren't cooked completely since they were thicker they didn't cook them long enough they were slightly hard. The vibe wasn't the quaint country charm you'd expect but more of trailer park meets back alley filthy. My hubby ordered breakfast pork chops and I had chicken fried steak. His chops were tough and not flavorful. My CFS was ok but the gravy was horrible and typical pepper white package gravy. The sides were pretty bad: instant mashed potatoes and watered down veggies. The fries were better than the others and green beans were decent if you have to chose a side. My nephew had pancakes which came out black or burnt. My niece ordered blackberry cobbler and it was super nasty. This is one of those places you leave saying "live and learn" because you're thinking you should have followed your gut and walked out. Best chicken-fried steak in Texas hands-down! This place in Tomball is a little hard to find, nothing fancy about it all except their delicious home-cooking - although nobody I've every know has been able to make chicken-fried steak this good! My husband and I split the Texas size yesterday - it was enormous and completely filled a large platter. The meat was tender, with no fat or gristle, and the batter was crunchy with just the right amount of seasoning. The sides were excellent as well - white cream gravy, mashed potatoes, fried okra - the green beans were perfect, cooked just right, not to mush, with the right combination of salt, pepper, onion and bacon flavors. Joe, the owner, is always there and checks up to make sure you're happy. They make all kinds of home-cooked foods, including banana pudding! Took my family here after church this past Sunday. This was our first time here and found that it is a wonderful southern diner. The decor was wonderful and the staff very friendly and attentive and the speed of food delivery excellent. I had the chicken fried steak and found it delicious! The gravy was fantastic and the steak cooked perfect. It was a huge portion that came with two sides. I opted for the side salad that came first which a good sized salad and the fries. The fries were fresh cut but unfortunately after finishing my steak I didn't have room for much else although they were very good. My wife had the Chuckwagon breakfast that included eggs, biscuits and gravy and home fries. She loved hers as well. My 3yr old son opted for pancakes and he was finished before everyone else, which is a miracle because he is so fussy. I can't wait to take the family again as well as my family from out of town when they come visit. If you haven't tried this place I highly suggest doing so in the near future! read more

I've been to CC's several times over the years and have never been disappointed. It is an old hole in the wall type place run by some local folks. Today I went there with my 3 kids (tween, teen and grad student adult). The two older kids and I got burgers. I got the Hickory burger special and paid extra to get onion rings instead of fries. The Onion rings are so good, I could make a meal out of them. Kids got a patty melt and sour dough burgers which are what I usually get. Oldest like the fries crispiness but I think he was secretly eyeballing my onion rings after I gave him a bite. The 12 year old is my picky eater. He ordered biscuits and gravy and a order of bacon. He actually liked the gravy. Bacon was done to perfection. We were treated friendly and had excellent service. They have a lot of locals and regulars so I've felt like an outsider before but it hasn't stopped me from coming back. I'm in heaven. I found a place that knows how to make a true patty melt with Rye bread. So many places here in TX use that TX toast and I've never seen that until I moved here. I've heard about how good they were and they didn't disappoint; just make sure not to burn the roof of your mouth. The hickory burger was awesome. I made sure to use some extra BBQ sauce.
