I strongly recommend that consumers think twice before doing business with C&S Heating and Cooling.
I became a customer in 2023 and purchased their Gold Maintenance Plan. Unfortunately, my experience since then has involved repeated service issues, a disputed thermostat replacement, duplicate billing, and an extraordinary lack of response when I attempted to resolve these matters directly.
In 2024, C&S installed a new thermostat in my home. I experienced repeated problems with it and contacted the company numerous times. I was subsequently told the thermostat had been replaced, yet the same problems continued. Despite requests, I was never provided documentation for the purported replacement, warranty information, or an instruction manual.
Then came the billing issue.
In 2025, C&S charged me TWICE for the Gold Maintenance Plan - once in February and again in April. I have the receipts and bank records documenting both charges.
I contacted the company in May requesting a refund of the duplicate charge. No response.
On July 1, an attorney contacted C&S on my behalf by BOTH email and USPS. That correspondence documented the duplicate charges, requested the refund, requested my service records, and requested documentation concerning the thermostat.
Again, no response.
No explanation. No refund. No requested documentation. Nothing.
After months of ignoring both me and formal correspondence sent on my behalf, C&S finally contacted me again - not to address ANY of these outstanding issues, but to send me another invoice demanding $82.77 for a May 2025 service call.
That was the final straw.
I have formally disputed that invoice, terminated my relationship with this company, demanded that they cease contacting me for payment or services, and instructed them not to make any further charges to my accounts.
I have retained the invoices, receipts, bank records, emails and prior correspondence documenting this history and intend to pursue recovery of the duplicate charge and any other relief available to me through the appropriate legal process, including small claims court.
Businesses make mistakes. A duplicate charge can be a mistake. A service problem can happen. What I find completely unacceptable is refusing for months to respond to a customer attempting to resolve those problems - even after receiving formal written correspondence - while retaining the customer's money.
And then sending that customer another bill.
