Fantastic place to go for any of your DIY needs. Recently had a battery that needed to be replaced,…read morebut the top of the battery was leaking and had bad corrosion in the terminal connectors. Service guys told me it was against policy to help bc if the connector snapped it'd be a liability thing. No problem - what surprised me, though, was they stopped by to check in on me regularly while in the parking lot, asked if they could supply any niche tools to help and even came in to help install the new battery once I disconnected the old one. This kind of help is hard to find; quality group of folk who know what they're doing but also not afraid to help you when you need it. Def will continue to return! Highly recommend.

The customer service here is absolutely amazing!…read more I came here regarding a tail light being out--unsure of which light bulbs it is I needed to purchase, I asked the staff member at the counter. He was beyond helpful in assisting and answering my questions and even went outside with me to double check exactly which light it was that was out. Unfortunately, this was the second Advance Auto Parts I had to stop by that morning, which they too did not carry the light I needed either. The staff member was so helpful and informed me that I might actually have to go to a dealership to see if it's the entire back tail light I'd have to replace. (Which ended up being the case) Awesome experience and so glad to have willing and helpful staff member here that went out of their way to make sure I was being assisted as best as possible.

In need of Bobcat equipment repair?...Buyer beware. The following comments pertain to the service…read moredepartment only. While they are competent, well-equipped repair technicians, they have zero reservations about taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. In fact, I was lied to and overcharged for a partial repair. Just the facts...brought my Bobcat 763G in with lift/tilt and auxiliary hydraulic problems, which appeared to be isolated to the hydraulic electric circuitry. First, I was told it needed a new Bobcat brand battery (@~$1000 parts/labor), since the current battery was dead upon arrival, even though it was less than 2 years old. Next, I was told it needed a new controller (@$1500 + additional labor), even though this service center had replaced the controller in the machine 8 years prior. The current controller showed no exterior signs of compromise, and the machine was mostly in storage thereafter. After staying with them for 5+ weeks, they inform me that the left lift cylinder needs a new seal, even though it never leaked previously. Then they tell me the machine won't start even with a new battery and controller installed. It needs a new entire wiring harness, which is no longer available. They would have to trace the wires by hand and repair shorts with 8+ additional hours of estimated labor. I advised them to double check the battery's ground cable terminal end, which may be loose. Then suddenly the lift/tilt issues were fully repaired the very next business day, having used all authorized labor hours to re-splice a few wires in the harness. When I arrived to collect the machine, I inquired if the auxiliary hydraulics were tested and functional. The representative said that it was tested to be fully functional. When I pressed to speak with the service technician, the technician proclaimed that the machine does not have auxiliary hydraulic capabilities because the hydraulic lines are "capped off." In fact, the machine was used with a Backhoe aux attachment by the previous owner. When asked, the technician would not tell me where in the hydraulic system the aux lines were "capped." At this point, I grew concerned and decided to pickup the machine in spite of the persistent auxiliary issues. Upon lifting the cab and personally inspecting the aux hydraulic system, I didn't see any hydraulic lines that were capped. I also discovered that the right hand control wiring connector had been disconnected from the harness. When I reconnected it, the aux system was fully functional. I can prove with pictures that this part of the wire harness was connected prior to dropping off the machine. In fact, I personally repaired the aux hydraulic system after 5 min of DIY diagnostics. This is what $3,800+ of service looks like at Bobcat of Northern VA. Ultimately, this equipment owner will not seek service assistance there again.

My wife took our Toyota Sienna there for their standard service safety inspection. When she came…read morehome, she told me the vehicle was acting funny because the doors would malfunction. Being a DIYer for our vehicles I popped the hood and immediately noticed the battery was out of place - the wing nut that secures the hold-down bar / J-hook was missing so the battery slid around freely. For those who know what I'm talking about, in order for this to happen the wing nut / washer has to be deliberately loosened with a socket wrench on to remove - it's not something that comes loose and pops off easily. Not pointing fingers, but I have concerns for sure. 1 - why does the battery hold down bar need to be tampered with? 2 - I torqued that bolt to OEM standards + installed the battery myself a few weeks before and then checked on it personally just to make sure things were good a few days before this safety inspection, so definitely didn't come off on its own. 3 - if this was an honest mistake, again, what are you doing tampering with the battery hold down bar for a safety inspection? Did you think it would disconnect before my wife drove off so you could score extra $$$ on maintenance repairs? While the service and price here are comparable to other gas stations in the area, this place certainly has lost my trust - I will be steering well clear of this place; don't want them under the hood for anything and have told everyone in my DIY crew about it.

I use apps for everything these days. Even to pay. I ran off and forgot my wallet this morning. I…read morewanted to get some gas and this was the closet station. I wanted to use their car wash as it is now open consistently. So I found out about the Shell app. I downloaded it. Entered a virtual card into the wallet of that app that had a spending limit on it. My car never holds more than $40 even when close to empty even with today's high gas prices. So I set up the payment in the app for $60 as the maximum purchase (again I wanted to get the $13 car wash I think it is). It said there was a problem. I lowered the max purchase in the Shell app to $40. Again it said there was a problem. So I just left as I had enough gas to get back home even though it was below a quarter of a tank and who knows what accident and road construction would have be sitting for 30 minutes or longer. I received texts saying that Shell pinged my purchased limit card for $100 each of the two times I tried the Shell app at the station which would require me to increase the max purchase for that card to use it virtually. So why ask for your max purchase if you are going to preauth for $100? Why not just say we are going to preauth for $100 no matter what? Someone at Shell needs to go to mgmt school. Too many mgmt issues over the last year
