This is, by far, the best 大排档-style Cantonese restaurant to open in DFW in recent years. There aren't many places here that serve this style of Cantonese food authentically, and this one easily stands out for both quality and execution. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but the ingredients are fresh, the portions are reasonable, and every dish we ordered was cooked exceptionally well. As someone who cooks Cantonese food regularly and has eaten extensively across Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Malaysia, and Singapore, I can honestly say the standard here exceeds most Cantonese restaurants in the area. The chef is from Guangzhou, and it definitely shows. The Beef Hor Fun (Dry Fried Beef Rice Noodles) was excellent. The wok hei was fragrant without being overly smoky, the noodles weren't greasy, and the bean sprouts were still crisp. That's the benchmark for a well-executed hor fun. The Salted Fish Chicken & Eggplant Clay Pot was another standout. The eggplant had clearly been lightly fried before being braised, giving it a wonderful texture--soft but not mushy, fragrant, and not overly oily. It paired perfectly with a bowl of white rice. My only minor comment is that I personally prefer a stronger salted fish flavor, having enjoyed this dish in many places across Southeast Asia. That's purely personal preference rather than a criticism. The biggest surprise of the night was the 香顶面. I didn't even get a photo because we finished it before I remembered! It was incredibly fragrant, the shrimp were very fresh, and the flavors were unlike anything I've had elsewhere in DFW. Definitely a must-order. The restaurant itself is small, with only about six tables, giving it a cozy neighborhood feel. Despite its size, they offer impressively fresh seafood and dishes that are prepared with great attention to detail. Overall, this is a fantastic find. The pricing reflects the quality of the ingredients and cooking, and it's well worth it if you're looking for authentic Cantonese cuisine rather than the usual Americanized Cantonese fare. Have come to C&A Seafood twice with reservations and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. Highly recommend emailing or calling to make a reservation especially at peak times because the place is pretty small and service can be on the slow side. - Pineapple pork ribs: table fave first and second time, super flavorful but not too saucy or overly sweet - Typhoon prawn fried rice: also super flavorful and loved the pop of salt from the black beans. Lots of jalapeños but they weren't really spicy so it wasn't detrimental to enjoyment of dish. We got a small our first time and it was definitely enough for 3 people - Salted fish chicken eggplant: tasty and aromatic dish, Angela one of the owners said it's a super traditional canto dish. Eggplant was well cooked and the flavors were solid. Nothing mindblowing but good home cooking, prob would've been better over white rice. - Scallion chicken (half): pretty tender but flavor didn't really penetrate all the way through... probably the weakest dish both times we came. White meat not the juiciest I've had sadly. - Garlic fried eggplant: had this the second time we came because of a seafood allergy at the table and it was so good, one of our faves for sure. - Laziji (spicy fried chicken): MIL said this is probably the best version of this dish she's had in DFW. Really good and quite spicy so beware! - Razor clams: on the pricier side but really well flavored and super fresh. - Garlic butter prawns (or something like that): so well fried, huge, and delicious. Been coming here for years for their fresh seafood. They recently decided to turn into a restaurant and boy was that a great idea. They still have fresh seafood but all of the other food is delicious too! I've been to the restaurant version a couple times now. Service is good - staff is helpful. They get a lot of repeat visitors and regulars, and it's cool when they recognize you! Food can take a while to come out - anywhere from 10 to 30 mins but it's almost always worth the wait. Interior is pretty small but they made good use of the space. There are a few tables - biggest one seats 8, smallest seats 2. Delicious Chinese food but there is going to be a wait for food and service. When I came in there was only 1 lady as a waitress. I know they are known for crabs but we opted for the eggplant, cold octopus, and chow fun. We ordered the razor clams that was good too but I probably wouldn't order again. Worth trying though. We ordered for pick up and the food is so delicious and super authentic!!! We got the house special pork ribs, balacan string beans, stir fried Manila clams and steamed chicken with scallion oil. Everything was so good. I am excited to try more dishes especially the lobster noodles and Dungeness crab fried rice. You can also eat there now they set up a few tables. I came here for authentic Canton food, and that is exactly what I had. Every dish was wonderful. They are a small, busy establishment, so I would encourage to visit during the weekday if possible. If not, be prepared for a long wait. They only have few tables, so I would recommend a reservation. It also took a while for the food, so perhaps, call to order ahead. This is the best Cantonese food in dfw and beyond. I tried house special curry (fresh seafood and tofu), choy sum (cooked the old-fashioned way), clam in black bean sauce (very fresh and meaty), pineapple pork ribs (crispy and well-balanced). They were out of tiger prawns, but I'd like to try that next time. They were super friendly and kept apologizing for the wait. On October 18, 2025, I purchased live blue crabs from this store. The crabs appeared active when sold, but after cooking them the same day, I immediately noticed a strong ammonia odor coming from the meat. This is a clear sign of spoilage and improper seafood handling. The crabs were completely inedible and had to be discarded. Concerned about food safety and quality control, I reached out to the store through their WeChat group (where they promote products and communicate with customers). Instead of receiving an apology or offer for refund or replacement, the owner responded with an extremely rude and dismissive attitude. They showed no accountability, no concern for customer health, and made no effort to resolve the issue. Shockingly, when I continued to explain the situation, the owner even threatened to "sue me" simply for sharing my honest experience and concerns about food safety. This response was unprofessional and intimidating. I was not asking for anything unreasonable--just acknowledgment and responsibility for selling spoiled seafood. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic respect when raising a valid concern, but the way this business handled the matter was both disappointing and irresponsible. I have since reported this incident to the relevant food safety authorities for further investigation, as seafood freshness is not a small issue--it directly affects consumer health.
