Stopped at Stonewood Tavern off Route 206 in Byram -- a great location and an even better dining…read moreexperience. Food: We started with garlic bread that was absolutely awesome, followed by grilled octopus with a perfectly balanced, succulent marinade. I had shrimp with pasta, while my mother-in-law enjoyed a fillet of sole stuffed with crab meat and my wife had the cavatelli with broccoli. Everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. Service: Our waitress, Casey, was excellent. Always checking in and very polite throughout the meal. She made the whole dining experience feel welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. Aesthetic: The restaurant has a warm, inviting look with stonework accents along the walls and an open barn-style concept. The lighting creates a comfortable atmosphere, and there's plenty of seating for both small groups and larger gatherings.

My husband and I split the Florentine Omelette with hashbrowns and the Ricotta Pancakes. The omelette was tasty, though the potatoes weren't quite my style. The pancakes, on the other hand, were a standout--light, fluffy, and full of summer flavor with blueberries and a hint of lemon zest. The restaurant itself has a bright, open feel and would make a great spot for a private event.

I was able to check in early and they offered late check out if needed. The only thing that could have been better was perhaps including more toiletries (maybe a shower cap, cotton swabs, etc) or a pair of scissors in the kitchen area. Overall, we had a great stay and thought the price was good for the spacious suite!

Four floors and the location was amid a convention center. The rooms were excellent. Staff professional. All the other trappings of a Residence Inn on point. No hot tub in the pool area which was disappointing - but the heated pool (uncommon) was a nice touch. I'll absolutely be back when in the area for work. Couple of notes that are likely cost cutting measures by corporate: 1) No paper towels in the kitchenette section of the room. Kind of annoying. 2.) I know it's been happening over time, but the elimination of face/body lotion from the rooms is something I keep forgetting about. Full service Marriott properties and JWs have it. But now it seems Residence Inns have joined Courtyards and Fairfield properties in this way. I'm sure over the millions of properties these measures add up to real dollars. But it seems the nickel and diming could be made up in other ways. But, like I said, I'm sure there is a global .xls sheet somewhere that could change my mind.
