OCTOBER 19, 2025 UPDATE After all of my phone calls to him…read morefor car advice and no matter how annoying I can be, Frank has never once lost his patience with me. Frank holds high standards of service, knowledge and hard work and he insists on the same for his employees. His prices are fair, he's honest and his education is extremely impressive. After I totaled my car frank helped me choose one without hesitation (probably because I kept bringing my choices to him only to have him say NO YO ). After more than a decade of trusting my car and safety with Gateway and thanks to Franks help ... I finally purchased a new car and it Looks like I'll be a loyal customer forEVER The shop is open Mon thru Fri and his prices remain very fair. END UPDATE For years I have been able to rely on and trust the staff of Gateway Automotive. Today when my car died outside of the library I called the shop and Ryan assured me that if I towed it over they would take care of it so I did. I was immediately greeted by the staff and Ryan went straight to work. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 2 hours. He was direct, accurate and incredibly helpful. I am grateful for his hard work. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I ALWAYS recommend this shop for the fact that they've never been wrong and have always been honest. Many times I've sent my friends to Gateway for second opinions and nearly every time their diagnosis was on point and way more affordable. It's hard to find an honest mechanic in this town... Gateway fills that need

I have a lot of empathy for the young guys working at this facility. Unfortunately, I was there…read moreuntil 6 PM because somebody quit and my car was pushed to the end of the line even though I arrived at 7:45 AM. Why is the owner not supervising these young technicians? They have very little experience and should be supervised by experienced in licensed mechanics. When I picked up my vehicle, the alignment seemed way off. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the work they performed, but they certainly took the two front rims and tires off the vehicle. All I can tell you is my steering wheel was jiggly back & forth driving over 60mph. As a result, I have to take my suv to a tire shop for a wheel alignment. Another $100 bucks.

I called local dealerships here in Modesto differential shops. I drove by the rear end shop coming home from from yet another dealership saying they couldn't do it keeping my truck for two days and charging me 115 dollars. Anyways I called rear end shop the owner was super cool fit me in the next and was finished with it within hours. I would recommend that place to anyone with a four wheel drive that needs work and tired of getting the run around. Didn't charge charge me very much. The only negative thing I would say is that I was overcharged by about 10 bucks a quart for the amsoil after I bought separately no big deal. Anyways very hard to find good reliable shops like the rear end shop off of Patterson road in riverbank!! You guys kick ass thanks again

So story short my rear end heated up and destroyed my clutch for the posy. This shop was very cool and Willy the owner got me in right away and fixed the problem. I decided to upgrade from the OEM rear and upgrade to an Eaton Truetrac and they had it installed in one full day. I went to pick it up the next day by 4 pm and they even fine tuned the linkage for my transfer case which I also bought. I will definitely be coming back here. Thanks Rear End Shop for supporting Vets and the local community.

At 845,000 miles on my supercharged 1997 Tacoma 3.4 I had 1) new heads 2) rebuilt Tcase 3) rebuilt 5 speed very happy and satisfied with there work! Thx again Nick! 5 stars!

We sent a customers 4runner engine 3.0 in to be rebuilt, and after 2 months we got it back and…read moreinstalled it. We noticed an oil leak on the passenger side that we made them aware of, and they said "let us know what you find". After adding dye and re inspecting the leak we found it coming from the very rear corner of the head gasket passenger side. We let them know with pictures what we found, and with some back and forth it was decided we just needed to remove the head to inspect the cause. They acted like they were willing to help and wanted to be kept in the loop. So we proceeded to remove the head, we straight edged it to find there was a low spot in the head. I showed them the picture of the daylight under the straight edge, as well as the the head gasket clean spot where it didn't crush when torqued. They said they would have to check in with their machine shop and get back to us. Guess what Nick said!? They said the machine shop "has no idea what they are even looking at in the photos and it doesn't make any sense" and that it was not their fault. Lololololo, for someone who is in the business of rebuilding ONE line of engines I will get my proverbial crayons out and draw the picture for you so you can understand. The part of the head gasket that was not crushed in the torque procedure surrounds the oil drain back. So oil was escaping passed the gasket and out the side of the engine. I love how we stuck our necks out to disassemble a freshly rebuilt engine, by this supposedly upstanding operation, and hand then conclusive evidence of a mess up, and they cannot take any blame. No further discussion, just flat out denial. I was in disbelief they wanted to screw us so blatantly and play dumb that that could not be the leak. We needed to take care of our client, since Yota 1 obviously was not going to take of us. So we had the head machined and reassembled with new gaskets, and what do you know! No more leak! It's so weird, when you do quality work, it delivers a quality product. #yota1takenotes AE Motorsports in Santa Cruz CA
