The eggplant Parmesan was a generic eggplant Parmesan that is only made tasty by the amount of mozzarella on the eggplant. The sauce was watery and had no flavor. The eggplant breading just fell off and was mushy. Tasted like a frozen eggplant parm. Garlic knots had a hard shell surrounding a doughy center. Every bite you can taste the garlic. The knots could use a bit more salt to enhance some of the garlic flavor but these were still good. The pizza is a bit of a mixed bag. While the crust and sauce are a bit generic and underwhelming the toppings and cheese make up for it to make a serviceable pie. Crust was your standard American chain pie with a thick enough crust but lacks any stability or flavor. Sauce is so generic it makes no impact on the pizza. The toppings are plentiful as well as the cheese and they are all of good quality. We had olives, onion, pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms and it wasn't too much or too little. The only negative is with all the toppings and cheese, the pizza did get greasy. Overall an above average pizza for a very average looking one. They had no water cups so everyone had to get a soda. They also have a sign saying no bringing water bottles in so there isn't anyway to get water unless you want to purchase a bottle of water. While this pizza isn't top of the line, it will still satisfy your pizza needs.

I gave Buxton Munch Co. five stars because it's as good as it gets in Buxton, NC for a good, fresh lunch. It's a cute little (actually recently expanded) sandwich jont located in a shopping plaza just off of Rt. 12 next door to the ABC store. Parking lot always seems to have plenty of parking. They're open from 11-4 Monday-Saturday. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite to eat on a Tuesday afternoon and we ordered the fish taco w/ blackened fish. It was super fresh and, in our opinion, ranks up there with one of the best fish tacos we've ever had. This is coming from people who lived on both coasts and have eaten really good California fish tacos. One order was plenty of food for the two of us. Beer is offered with a great selection micro-brews. Atmosphere is casual with a slight, but not overpowering Sponge Bob Square Pants feel. Service is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Buxton Munch Co Restaurant for your next lunch on your way to or from Hatteras Lighthouse. read more

WE LOVE BUXTON MUNCH! We come from the mountains of NC every year to vacation at the Outer Banks, and Buxton Munch is always on our itinerary. The menu is so big, we have to eat lunch here at least 3 times while we are here, My husband loves the Shrimp PO Boy and I love the Southern California Wrap. And for our last meal, we finally tried the fish tacos! OH. MY. GOODNESS. The food is always so fresh and presented so beautifully and the waiters are very helpful and friendly. *IMPORTANT: This place is called "Buxton Munch Company" and NOT "Something Else Cafe." Website is http://www.buxtonmunch.com/ Once we found the place, we were satisfied. From what I've heard, it's one of the only (if not the only) place to get something vegan on Hatteras. We had the Hippy Chick Hummus Wrap (I posted a picture), which had hummus, lettuce, tomato, black beans, tomato rice, and we had them leave off the cheese. It came with chips and salsa, too. Dining at Buxton Munch was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional--my shrimp was cooked to perfection, and the flavors in each dish were perfectly balanced. Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. Funky decor, locally owned. Super nice people working there. We've always gotten our food to go but the place is super clean and is pretty much always busy. Delicious shrimp tacos and cheeseburgers! They also offer a varity of salads, yummy Crabby Patties Crabcakes, subs and wraps. Everything made fresh to order so be prepared to wait for it and it's worth the wait! Been there three times to try and get something to eat without any luck. The wife of the cook was rude and acted like the soup Nazi, she is a control freak. If you have hours listed on the door then you should abide by them. I will NEVER go back, I can make my own fish tacos with better ingredients, these people are just lucky that they don't have competition otherwise they'd be out of business. read more

Light, fluffy, and full of flavor. Some others tried the omelets, biscuits w/gravy, and bagel sandies. Everyone finished it all. This menu might not be the most adventurous for some but we found it to be a good solid diner, with friendly staff serving quickly.
