We visited Mirro's twice during our stay, once for dinner and once for breakfast.  It was decent food, but nothing stood out as amazing. We tried the fish tacos, which were tasty.  The craft beer they sell there I'd recommend passing on.  Breakfast was ok too. They had a loaded hash brown entree, which sounded good and had sausage gravy.  I guess there are different interpretations of what are "hashbrowns" and what are fried potatoes. They serve fried potatoes and not shredded potatoes. The bacon cheese omelette was good and loaded with bacon.  The employees were friendly.Since there are so few places to eat in this section of the outer banks, Mirro's gets crowded, especially if it is raining. read more

Stopped by for Lunch while staying nearby at an RV Rally and really enjoyed the meal. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your order to your table. There is comfortable seating inside and some on outside deck with views. I tried the Legendary Seafood Tacos, one blackened fish and one blackened shrimp, with diced cabbage and fresh house recipe salsa all piled on 2 corn and flour tortillas. As far as ambiance goes,This place is a roadside beach type restaurant. As my 2 experiences in this area, you go up to the counter and order your food, self service style. We first visited Mirro's Cafe almost two years ago, shortly after the new owners took over. It was the off-season, and they were one of the few places open--so we stopped in, not knowing what to expect. To our surprise, everything was outstanding: the food was incredible, the restaurant was spotless, the service was warm and attentive, and the new owners clearly had a passion for making their mark in the restaurant business. Fast forward two years--staying at the KOA just across the street, we decided to go back, hoping it would be as good as we remembered. It was. In fact, it was just as amazing as the first time. We had a large group and so we were able to taste a variety of items. We went for dinner. 2 of us had the the tuna steak sandwich. The tuna was cooked well and as simply grilled, it had a great flavor. Husband had The Islander, which was a blackened Mahi sandwich. It was extremely fresh and had an excellent flavor. My husband doesn't enjoy a lot of fish but he said this sandwich was very tasty. 2 got the chicken tenders and fries. They came out piping hot. They said they were very good. The Shrimp Po Boy was also nice. The shrimp seemed fresh and had a nice breading. Lastly, someone got the burger and she says it was " highly yumtastic". Everyone loved the fries. This place looks so unassuming from outside and inside is just a casual surf shack serving food. You order at the counter when you know what you want and seat yourself. They have a decent sized dining room inside and a nice porch outdoors where they allow dogs. We ordered the jalapeno poppers to start. They were nicely fried and crispy with cream cheese filling. They came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping (which isn't my favorite combination) but we're good enough on their own. For my dinner I ordered the shrimp Po boy. The roll was crusty on the outside, but soft on the inside. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the shrimp were perfection. They were fried to a golden brown and cooked just right. The bistro sauce was similar to a thousand Island, and it was just the right amount of sauce to shrimp. If I lived here, I would eat this sandwich on the regular. I paid an up charge for fries instead of the chips and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. My husband ordered the chicken wrap with chips and really enjoyed his meal as well. This is an easy and pretty tasty lunch spot. There's a ton of seating both inside and outside. You look at the paper menus and then place your order, and they bring it out. I ordered the oyster po boy which had a decent amount of oysters and a nice remoulade sauce. I liked the bread as well, but could have had less lettuce and more toppings like tomatoes. Mirro's Makes Good Food Our family arrived a bit early for our Saturday beach rental check-in, so we decided to visit Mirro's for a bite to eat for lunch. The sign says it is a new place for 2023. The cafe was busy, with all seats and tables full inside. Thus, we took our place at one of the outside tables on the side porch. We picked up a menu and then placed our order at the counter. We had two shrimp Po-boy sandwich baskets and a fish-n-fries basket. The Po-boys and the fish tasted very good. However, for the price ($20 for each sandwich), the Po-Boys could have had a few more shrimp and the fish basket should have included two pieces of fried fish. That said, the food was all fresh, cooked very well, and served piping hot. The counter staff and attendants were all very friendly and helpful. They cleared tables quickly and we were able to move to an inside, air-conditioned table soon. In summary, the food was good, but the price was a bit steep for the amount of food received. It does have a good beach feeling atmosphere. read more

This is a cute cafe that recently opened in the Waves area. We were going to go to Sheila's but I think it closed down? Or we couldn't find it? Either way we wound up here and weren't disappointed at all. We tried the biscuits & gravy, pancakes, French toast, hash browns & sausage. Everything was delicious & ready very quickly. The ambiance of the place was nice, too. All of the food we ordered was quite cheap, especially for the area, & we were really impressed! We'll be back for breakfast next year. Cute cafe but the food was lacking. I had the burger which was super dry and peppery flavored which is what I think restaurants do to try to mask that the burger is frozen. My daughter had the shrimp poboy and said it lacked flavor. My husband also had a poboy and said the same. read more

Sausage was dry and crumbly my "scrambled" eggs came out looking like a fried pancake and when I told the server I asked for scrambles she was really rude and said "that is our scrambled egg". My water cup had dried food crusted on it. read more

We took a week trip to OBX, and we've been here 4 times. Every single time has been wonderful, their burgers, fries, coffee's, breakfast sandwiches, and so on have been amazing. The service is shockingly quick for how good the food is. The environment is nice and welcoming as well; you're greeted to sit anywhere. Only slightly negative thing is the higher pricing, but honestly the food is worth it. Their patio is nice as well and is shaded. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting OBX! read more

We had Mirro's twice in the week we visited Rodanthe. The staff was super friendly, and attentive. The first time was for breakfast, which my husband got as takeout. We ordered the sausage gravy & biscuits, as well as a breakfast sandwich. The sausage gravy was, well, awful. It had almost no flavor, barely any sausage and was an odd color. It wasn't made with much love, sadly. The breakfast sandwich was fine. Nothing to write home about, but the biscuit was good. The second time we gave it a shot was for a late lunch, and we shared the shrimp & fries basket, with a side of coleslaw. The shrimp and fries were good, fresh and crispy. The coleslaw was fine. I think the most memorable thing we had was the lemonade. All in all, we likely wouldn't go back. The food just wasn't flavorful or stand out enough to make me feel like I need to have it again. read more

Wasn't good. Got the Sunrise Wrap (like a breakfast burrito) and it didn't come as described. (No hash browns in it.) I didn't tell them or complain , so didn't give them a chance to fix it. My wife and I stopped in here in 2005 when it was called the Atlantic Coast Cafe and loved it. The breakfast sands and wraps were excellent. We popped back in several times over the years during our Hatteras vacations and the food and service were still always great. I was sorry to hear the ACC owners called it it quits in 2023 as it was our first time back to Hatteras Island in several years. We thought we would try the new Mirro's place out and....were very disappointed. The staff were okay, not bad but also not at all welcoming. For the most part they just seemed bored and going through the motions until their shift was done. The place itself is the same, small but well laid out with a nice beach vibe going on. The food though was really abysmal, on the level of a lonely interstate diner at 2 in the morning. I ordered a basket of fried oysters. (How many do you get? 8 to 12. It depends.) They were very small, completely tasteless balls of fried burnt batter. My wife had a reuben that was also a greasy mess with strange tasting corned beef. I'm not impressed with the owner's responses to criticism and other poor reviews on Yelp and Google. Instead of trying to improve his business he would rather reply with snarky and rude comments. Poor attitude, worse food. Sad to see this Rodanthe landmark fall so low. read more

AMAZING pancakes honestly don't think i have had better the silver dollar pancakes were very large and i got those so i'm not too sure how big the regular pancakes were Tea was super good, but lemonade was kinda funky tasting but was still good. Service was also amazing waiters/servers were super nice to us and they cleaned a table as soon as it opened up because the original group left for us because we were a group of 6 but had 2 not there yet. Ambiance was super cozy and obviously ocean themed and I LOOVVVVE the ocean so that was really nice. This nice cafe had wifi and some really cool merch that i wish i could've bought but some refills were $1.99 so decided not to get refills for some of the drinks. read more
