Pork ribs, sausage, brisket, potato salad, elote
    Kaitlyn S.

Parking: there's a small parking lot, and we were able to find a spot around the corner as well Service: fast and welcoming :) Food: INCREDIBLE. Texas Monthly brought us here and we will be back for sure! We got the three meat plate and shared it among three of us: brisket, pork ribs, and sausage with potato salad and elote as the sides. I loved every item.

Mini-Trinity. One meal enough for two.

Thanks to Texas Monthly, Butter's has been on our to-do list for a couple years. Now that they're in Sinton, definitely. So making a short trip over the new Harbor Bridge and into Sinton, Butter's is easy to find, not easy to park at. Photos here on Yelp are quite current with menu on butcher paper on the wall, ample seating inside. We decided on the mini-trinity for $48 as our server told us it was enough for two. It was. Two ribs, brisket and sausage...two cuts of sausage (one jalepeno stuffed and one regular) and beans and potato salad. I ordered sweet tea for an additional $3.25. Just a reference for me is that their two-meat plate is $25. At our current main haunt in CC, we get out of the place with me doing 2 meats and wife a one for about $34. Butter's priced a bit higher. So how is the food? Individually I'll give the brisket a 4.5. Regular sausage gets a 5 and the jalepeno stuffed a 2.5. The rib is a solid 5. SO tender. The beans get a 4...pretty good. But the potato salad is VERY mustard-y and that's not my fav...3. The sauce has a LOT of vinegar. I enjoy carolina style sauce but a bit heavy to me. It's VERY clear the pitmaster knows his way around the smoker. Not one bit of the meat under/over cooked...it was totally on-point as far as the beef. I get what Texas Monthly was talking about.

I will go out of my way for BBQ especially if I know what I'm getting. This was Sunday and as I left Port Aransas I knew my favorite central Texas spot was closed . I remembered reading about a good up and coming spot in Sinton so, set course. Rolling up to the front door of this repurposed storefront,I was happy to see a short line. I had read enough good reviews to know I wanted to try it and didn't need proof in the form of an hours wait. Butcher paper taped to the wall easily conveyed your options and I loved that. Various combinations and price ranges were layed out making ordering a breeze. I opted for the Trinity giving me Sliced Brisket, Jalapeno Cheese sausage, Turkey and 3 sides. Brisket beans, Tot Casserole and Mexican Elote rounded out my side choices. Let me be clear. My determining factor for good BBQ is Brisket period. I'm old school that way. That being said I'm open minded and will try and eat everything. However,I can sit and eat only sliced brisket,no sauce or sides and be happy. Happy if,it's great . The guys quickly packed up my order to go,I grabbed the requisit Big Red and away I went. Pro Tip: Picnic in a cemetery. I love old cemeteries and have found tailgate picnics there are very pleasant. Lowering the tail gate and opening up the $95 stash of Q was like an unveiling! The turkey was on top so I snatched a bite . Fantastic. I want to say upfront, this is the best smoked turkey I've ever had. I have been eating and smoking turkey all my life so trust me,this is the Holy Grail of smoked turkey right here at Butters Sinton. Also note worthy is the jalapeno cheese sausage. I'm not a sausage guy so you have to bring it to impress me. This does with a 80/20 beef pork mix. Excellent. The ribs hold their own but , garden variety today. The brisket sliced thick with just enough resistance to the pull and a nice smokiness is a winner. Add a slice of white bread and Big Red and it's a meal. These guys are a solid 4 and I'd certainly place them in top contention for a spot on your Travel Destination Q trip . If in striking distance... Go!

Run don't walk to Butter's! Finally, a place that has it all: smoky ribs, tender brisket, delicious sides, good service, nice seating, and all the amenities. There's no compromises when you go to Butter's! Highly recommend: elote corn (Does someone have their recipe?!)

We drove right by this place because it does not look like a restaurant, but rest assured, it is. The brisket and turkey were very tasty, definitely 5 star delish along with some tasty tot casserole. We were there between lunch and dinner so we had our choice of seating, which was mostly large tables. There were several people working, so we got our food right away, but customer service doesn't seem like a priority, and restrooms could use some loving. I think it was overpriced, but may be worth it if you're in the area wanting good BBQ.

Hand over the brisket and no one gets hurt. This Q joint in little ole Sinton, Tx did us right as we stopped in for lunch on our way thru town!

    Mini Trinity

Made a trip to butters while driving to Corpus Christi. I had heard good things about this place from a coworker, but It was just OK. I had the mini trinity with potato salad and beans for the sides. Of the 3 meats I would say the sausage was the best. The sausage had a coarse grind and good flavor without being too greasy. The brisket and ribs were tender and well cooked but they lacked flavor. The brisket reminded me of pot roast and the ribs needed more rub. The potato salad had a very strong taste of eggs and the beans were meh. The folks serving the food were friendly. The BBQ sauce was good so I put it on everything.

Best BBQ in the Area hands down! Sinton is lucky to have Butter's as he moved from Mathis, Texas a while back.

Constantly good BBQ every visit, good service and posted current prices menu. Glad they moved from Mathis to Sinton grateful to have the best BBQ in the county.

If you like barbecue, then you need to run to butters barbecue! From walking in the door, we were greeted instantly by the staff and made you feel welcomed into the establishment. They were extremely helpful and helping us build our plates and providing suggestions and even a sample while we waited which was above and beyond. The barbecue itself was fall off the bone! Extremely tender flavorful, and you didn't even need to put sauce on it. The sausage was delicious and full of flavor as well. All the sides were extremely fresh and you could taste each ingredient included, which can be really rare for sides. Honestly, you just can't go wrong with anything from butters and I can't wait to go back! They have really set the bar high for delicious barbecue!

I can without a doubt say Butter's is the best BBQ in south Texas. If you haven't stopped by, I highly recommend you do! As with many great things, I suggest arriving early for your best selections of meats before they sell out. The staff is always friendly and super helpful. Cozy spot with a plenty of seating. The brisket is perfectly tender, juicy and moist. And don't pass on the elote. Definitely worth drive to Sinton!

    Brisket Elote Cup

The Brisket Elote Cup is a must-try--it never disappoints! Make sure to arrive early, as they tend to sell out. This locally-owned spot is family-friendly and hands-down my favorite BBQ place around. You won't regret stopping by for a bite!

Good brisket, really liked the elote. Jap sausage was decent. Pro tip use the left door.

Our 92nd 'cue stop in the Lone Star state brought us to one of the 2021 Texas Monthly 50 Best BBQ Joints that's been on our radar for a few years now. Parking is a challenge (be prepared to park on a side street), and service might most charitably be described as businesslike. At $43.89 we judged a 3 meat (brisket, turkey, jalapeno cheese sausage), 2 side (elote, brisket beans) plate to be overpriced. The turkey was excellent-- well smoked, moist and tender, and the sausage had good flavor as well. The fatty end of the brisket featured a traditional central Texas rub, but while moist and tender, the flavor of the meat ran to the roast beef side of the spectrum. The sides were a hit (top notch elote) and a miss (so so brisket beans). In sum, we would dine here again if passing through town at lunch hour, but we would not go out of our way to pay a visit.

Andrew "Butter" Soto (yellow hat on the right) is on the front lines serving generous portions of his amazing barbecue!

When you walk in, there's a clear line leading up to the register, with menus posted along the way and a large menu board up front, which makes ordering pretty easy. They offer a wide variety of options. The day we went, they had a chopped beef sandwich combo with a drink and a side for around $10, which felt like a solid deal. For my sides, I tried the mashed potatoes, potato salad, creamed corn, and okra. The okra was a standout--fresh, crispy, and really well done. The potato salad was also very good and worth getting. The creamed corn was something I hadn't had before--it included bacon and had a really unique flavor. It might not be for everyone, but I personally couldn't stop eating it, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. As for the chopped beef sandwich, it wasn't my favorite. It was a bit dry, even after adding extra barbecue sauce, and I didn't find it especially flavorful. That said, others in my group actually thought it leaned on the sweeter side, so your experience may vary. One thing that really stood out was the service. The staff was super friendly, patient, and happy to answer questions and help with recommendations. Overall, I'd say it's worth stopping by if you're in the area. If you're up for comparing, there's another barbecue spot a few miles down the road--Choke Canyon--that I've also enjoyed, especially for their sandwiches. Makes for a fun side-by-side if you're a BBQ fan.

The pickle chips and ranch dressing was good but a little too salty for my liking. The tortilla burger was a veggie loaded cheesy smashed beef burger in two fried tortillas. Greasy but good.
