Butler's pantry is a cute lil cafe in Covington- and it now restarted its BRUNCH! AND IT IS SO GOOD! They are handling covid guidelines well and the outdoor dining area is huge to accommodate social distancing well. We ordered Ricotta Pancakes, frittata, nashville chicken and waffles and biscuit french toast pudding. I can't recommend the chicken and waffles enough. The chicken was perfectly crispy... the chicken coating was so crunchy and spicy (almost like doritos)! The cornbread waffles was interesting. It didn't retain the shape as I ate (it crumbled) but it complemented the chicken really well. The frittata was really good- fluffy and well spiced. The biscuit french toast pudding was soooo goooood. It came warm in a skillet. The ricotta pancakes were novel because it was made with buckwheat flour. I liked it but it wasn't as fluffy as the traditional one. Totally recommend the brunch! read more

As far as baked goods go (not gluten free), I was pumped to see multiple cookie options including apple butter, plain sugar, bourbon pecan, and iced oatmeal. The restaurant was very empty. It reminded us more of a hotel diner restaurant than a free standing restaurant. ThE service was good and the fooD was good. It had a 50's diner vibe. The egg white omelette was good but it's hard to mess I an omelette. The avocado toast and salad was also good. Our friend got the eggs Benedict which was "different" as the waitress described it - no Hollandaise. And he got a Bloody Mary. He said that was okay. I'd love to have the opportunity to rate the food. However, on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM (hours show closing time 3 PM), when I tried to enter, I was informed the restaurant was "closing early". If you can't manage to do business during your posted hours, you shouldn't be doing business, especially in Sunday when most everything close by is closed. I won't be back. read more

I've been following this place on Instagram for a while and almost every single post makes my mouth water. I'm generally not the type of person to watch food pictures or advertisements and get hungry but something about how well done their menu items are designed really pulls me in. I decided to go after a friend of mine was in town and wanted to grab lunch. I was not disappointed. This place is a really interesting concept, almost like a food hall where there's different stations that each have categories of food items but it's all under the same name. Also they have a sit down restaurant which I guess is a little bit fancier and has a whole separate menu. I wish they had more photos of items on their menu in store but I just went back to the Instagram and look at some of the items that I loved and ordered based on that. They allow you to customize almost anything and pretty much all of the ingredients are fresh and a lot of them are local. My "Almost Famous Chicken Salad" wrap on the spinach wrap was delicious. High-quality, fresh, and well seasoned. We also tried a few of the non-bake vegan cookie items and they were great! Pretty much all the desserts and baked goods look life-changing so I will definitely be going back. Anyone who likes food porn or just to eat well should check this place out and follow their Instagram. Also overall their prices were very reasonable. We stopped here mid morning as I was looking for coffee. Turns out there is both a cafe and a marketplace. The cafe has a small menu with a variety of options. We ordered the lettuce wraps and a turkey club. The club was nicely toasted and the fries had parsley on them. It was a nice treat, however it was not "true" club it was still very good. The lettuce wrap was well cooked and had good flavors. The peanut sauce was a little thick but a nice addition to the wrap. They were a little messy, so make sure you have a fork and napkin handy. We also did get a coffee from the marketplace portion of the pantry and it was well made. They also had some small sweets which were a nice treat at the end of a meal. The coffee was a little expensive e ($7 for an iced latte)but it was well made. Overall a really great experience and the bartender taking our order was really kind and personable. Love this local bakery. Stopped by to pick up some pastries to celebrate a birthday at work. That staff was great and the variety of pastries were amazing. Everyone at worked enjoyed it and I've been spreading the word about this little gem. They are reasonably priced and love the different choices of pastries. I was in a pinch to find some last minute goodies for a birthday dinner AND a pie for thanksgiving. Butlers pantry saved the day on both accounts. For the pie, they had two assortments of full pies, pumpkin & apple streusel. I went with the Apple pie streusel. It had the best crumble and caramel drizzle on top! It was a huge hit. For the birthday dinner treats, I went with an assortment of items from their pastries. A few macarons, cannolis, and cupcakes. I have to say that the macarons were some of the best I've ever had. They were soft with a little bite. The flavors were delicate, and not overwhelming at all. The new barista (I can't remember his name) was the biggest help at helping me pick out what I needed. I recently ordered delivery from Butler's Pantry via a UberEats. I knew that their menu had changed since the last time I had ordered, so I was excited to try some of their new offerings. I ordered a whole Kale and apple chicken salad and some Brussels sprouts. When I opened the containers, the first thing I noticed was that both seemed to be a bit sparse. For the chicken salad to be "whole sized," it definitely seemed to be on the smaller size. I did enjoy the flavor, but I definitely walked away from the experience feeling like the value wasn't quite there. The Brussels sprouts are hard to make a judgment on because they were a bit soggy, but I ordered delivery so that's on me. The flavor was good and I bet they would be much better if ordered there and enjoyed right away. So while I enjoyed the food, $12 for the salad seemed to be very steep for its size. Initially I was going to make this a 3-star review, but the fact that this was a delivery experience made me lean to give the benefit of the doubt. I have had lots of great in-person experiences in the past at Butler's Pantry, so I would definitely venture back to try out some of the menu again. read more

They have everything you'd want snack-wise and anything you'd need if staying in a nearby hotel or for a party. They have full size bottles of liquor, single cans of beer or wine, bags of chips, chilled products, fountain drinks, a coffee bar with a barista, and a kitchen for the fresh-made foods. Nice outdoor seating helped the overall experience for a downtown lunch spot. Butler's Pantry just got a new barista, Brandon, and he is a game-changer! He used to be in charge of the coffee bar at Hotel Covington, so he really knows what he is doing. They also bought an espresso machine (as opposed to the previous button machine that was essentially like what they have in gas stations....). Combine high-quality espresso with a top-of-the line machine and a skilled barista who actually knows his craft, not to mention the fact that Brandon is just an absolute DELIGHT to interact with... This place is amazing!!! I wat at a conferemce at the NKY Convention center and needed a good meal. As a person with gluten allergies and who is vegetarian there were a plethora of options.
