We were able to drive over via boat and park at the dock. Parking was free. We went up to the window to order and sat down to eat our meal. The food was tasty. This place is good if you just want to grab a quick bite, as there is not really table service and parties are encouraged to leave once done with their food, as seating is limited.

The lobster roll and view are the stars of the show. The lobster roll is excellent. $30 might seem high but they come with French fries. The view is beautiful. You order at a window and a server brings the food to you. Very relaxing, wonderful summertime vibe. I look forward to returning.

Calm environment and a nice view overlooking Manhasset Bay! We went for lunch during a weekend visit at Port Washington. Neat and clean outdoor seatings for a 'shack' and food was not bad. We ordered the Clam Chowders which was meh, Lobster Roll was okay, Sea Scallops and Whole Belly Clams was good. 3 stars on food and extra star for the vibe & view.

Opens seasonally so check before you go. I was here the week of labor day so they were luckily still open. But they are about to close for the season. Stunning views of the Bay and at sunset, it's so serene. This was the perfect week to come vs the busy summer days. The place gets packed at prime dinner time (6pm-8pm) so head over earlier or come right at 7:30pm...that's the sweet time slot. Tables cannot be reserved and when it's super busy, a staff member will assist in securing a table once you've gotten your food. Sometimes you'll have to share a table, it's a courteous thing to do and when it's that busy, everyone just wants to enjoy their food with the view. Be nice! Onto the food: love the clam chowder - full of ingredients and it's the perfect balance of creamy but not too heavy. The lobster roll served with fries, the baked fish served over farro and the whole belly clams entrees are my go-to choices almost every visit. I like what I like and between the salad and slaw - you get your vegetables in. For the non-seafood options, there's the impossible burger, grilled cheese (so good!!), hot dog and cheeseburgers just to name a few. There are salad options too with or without proteins. Something for everyone. Always a great time at Butler's Flat. It's an institution. Enjoy!

Perfect if your craving a lobster roll and a view. We also tried the scallops which were amazing as well!!

Great spot by the water for seafood, drink, and a great sunset view. Counter service with a pretty decent menu not to mention an ample parking lot. This was a low-key place a few years back but not anymore. Popularity spreads fast.

We had a great time here today! A real vacation feel right on the marina. We arrived at 2:30 on Sunday for a late lunch and had no problem getting a table and no wait to order. The lobster rolls, local corn on the cob, and ice cream sandwich were all fresh and delicious. I loved that the patio is shaded by umbrellas and dog friendly! Staff members were so friendly and bathroom was modern and clean (ask staff for the code).

Really enjoyed our lunch here. Something about their set up from ordering to their sitting area along with their location (right by the marina) just screams summer to me. And it doesn't look like we'll make it to Maine yet again this year, but Butler's Flat's lobster roll helped ease the sadness of that. Everything we ordered was delicious and I definitely want to revisit to try the other items on the menu. I had the lobster roll (excellent!) and A had the crab roll which he enjoyed as well. Both orders came with fries. We tried the stuffed quahog which is a large baked clam (I overheard that it was 4oz); there was some kind of sausage in it, maybe chorizo? I really wanted to try the fried clams which is listed on the menu has an entree served with fries and coleslaw, but when I asked if that would be too much food for two people, he kindly suggested ordering the clams as an appetizer without the sides. Score! They have a good selection of beers, soda and wine as well. Once you order, grab a table and they'll call your name when your food is ready. Good food, good views, good ambiance; I'll definitely be back this summer.

As you enter there is a small waiting area and an ordering counter. Staff were very nice, cheerful, & accommodating while I waited for my order to be cooked and packaged. I didn't look into the dining room since this was a take out order. PROS: Cleanliness appears to be high on their agenda. My order consisted of Fried Oyster dinner, Fish & Chips dinner, and a Fried Shrimp & Scallops dinner. All came with French Fries and Cole Slaw. They also provided plenty of tartar and cocktail sauce. Additionally they have Malt Vinegar which is a must, at least for me when eating fish and chips. The oysters were cooked to perfection, as were the shrimp and scallops. CONS: The fish fillet was undercooked and the coating saturated with oil. I don't think the fryer was hot enough. French Fries were soggy because the steam from the closed containers. Easily solved by putting in a frying pan to crisp them up. Coleslaw was okay. As for Pricing, they are quite high for portion served. $30.00 for 2 shrimp, 2 scallops and a mound of french fries is outrageous. I can get a full seafood platter at any decent diner or restaurant for this kind of money. I think I'll look elsewhere when I get my next craving for this type of cuisine.

Nothing that knocked me off my feet but solid enough for what they are. The french fries were exactly what you would expect. Potatoes are potatoes and it is genuinely hard to go wrong there. Now the fish, which is really the entire point of visiting a place called Fish and Chips, was unfortunately a letdown. Zero flavor. Completely bland from start to finish. There are several sauces included and I suppose if you enjoy building all of your flavor through dipping that approach could work for you, but personally I would much rather the fish itself show up with something to say. The surprise standout of the whole meal were the dirty potatoes. Those were loaded up nicely and genuinely delivered. I would order those again without any hesitation. But the fish is what I came for and the fish is where Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips fell short. Given the name attached to this concept, the expectations walking in are naturally going to be elevated. Unfortunately the fish did not come close to meeting them. For a restaurant built entirely around fish and chips as its signature offering, the main attraction needs to bring a lot more to the plate than this.

New owners, lots of expenses. But when we got our food- the fish was thinner and smaller, and the portions were much less generous. They didn't change the recipe- just everything else. . . We gave it another chance last week. Same small, thin pieces of fish in smaller portions, at a higher price. We were so disappointed. I had hoped the new owners would be there so we could give them some feedback, but they were not. So I'll leave my suggestion here in case they see it. Smaller fish and stingy portions won't keep your regulars coming back. Time to find a new fish and chips shop. So sad.
