I got the cheese enchilada dish and Bobbie the flautis dish both with rice and beans. The beans were actually some of the best I've had in a long time and the rice was good, needed more seasoning but still good. The enchiladas were tasty but also lacking seasoning. The flautis were probably the best part as they had lots of meat fries nice and crispy and great flavor. So overall for Pecos where the choices are very limited it was good food. Not sure where all the reviews saying no flavor came from but maybe they need to go back to El Torito.

Well all I can say is it's not the same Pody's as it was last time I ate here a few years ago…read more I ordered the one meat plate; The brisket was overcooked, dry and bland. I had to drown it in BBQ sauce. The potato salad was too sweet as if they got heavy handed with the sugar. The "pinto beans" were actually refried beans that were dried out. And to top off my dining experience the lady preparing the plates had a bad cough and was not making an attempt to cover her mouth or even turn her face away from making the plates. I started to ask for a refund but I didn't. Lesson learned I will not be stopping in again.

The service is was great, the restaurant is simple but clean and welcoming. But the lasagna. Oh the lasagna. It came out steaming and cracking in the dish they used in the oven. And I waited. As long as I could. But at some point, I risked the mouth burn because I couldn't resist any longer. And I tasted a lasagna so well done that I could hardly believe it was real. This lasagna but most of my favorites to shame and escalated itself to quite possibly my favorite lasagna of all times. It's small and it's in a small town. But this place is worth the stop.

The ambiance was mostly casual with lots of TVs everywhere like a sports bar, but it seemed like it wanted to be fancy with the way the staff was dressed and how they presented their menus. The cost per dish was more upscale seafood. They had some props for "gram worthy" pictures. As we sat down, our waiter brought over chips and salsa for the table and said to the kids "one basket only is free". They looked at us confused because they weren't used to that being the case in Mexican restaurants we go to in Phoenix. We said it was a nice holdover until the food got there. The same thing happened with the drinks though; the kids ordered a soda and it came in cans and the waiter said "no refills". Again, not that big of a deal but they were only saying it to our kids. The people who got water though asked if the water could get refilled and the waitress said it could but didn't seem like she wanted to because only a couple refills were filled during the meal. Some of the food had quick a kick to it, so more water or something to drink would've helped. The food was kind of hit or miss; some people really liked their dishes and some were just okay with what they ordered. If we had come with just adults, maybe we would've had a different experience and ordered different things. Next time we pass through we'll try and stop in again.
