The country fried steak was amazing homemade mashed potatoes. Awesome came with a salad and we chose corn, but you also could pick green beans. We had it through DoorDash so to us the service was good because our food was hot not cold and very fresh and and very tender the ambience it was totally full. We was not wanting for more but we wanted more of the country fried steak if we come back to Pecos, that will be one place that we will stop and eat again because the country fried steak was amazing where we were so hungry and exhausted. Food has always been excellent except for the of portions have changed now there's very limited beans rice whatever your menu choices are, if you've noticed it's a lot less on your plates , so I've noticed. Needed a place on our first night here in Pecos. Nice small place when you walk in but they do have a back room so enough seating room. They had the place decked out for Christmas with lots of decorations as well as a tree, pretty cool that they did that. Got chips and salsa when we got seated, crisp chips with a salsa with a bit of a bite, not overly spicy but just a nice bite. I ordered the beef enchilada plate with red sauce, rice and beans and Bobbie got the asada gordita plate also with rice and beans. Both the rice and beans had good flavor with the beans covered with cheese. My enchiladas were good sized with lots of ground beef inside and a really good red enchilada sauce that had a bite as well as covered with cheese. Bobbies gorditas were stuffed with loads of asada that had a great flavor and the gorditas themself had a good masa flavor. Overall this was a good choice for dinner. read more

I would have given this 5 stars if not for the 10-minute wait before handing us the menu. They gave nacho chips with salsa dip while waiting for our orders. The chips were the rihht amount of crisp and the salsa has a nice kick to it. I ordered the Mexican Taco Plate which has one of each: chicken taco, guacamole taco, and beef taco served with salad, rice, and beans on the side. The meats were tender and juicy, the guacamole has a smooth consistency. The rice was flavorful and so are the beans. I'd love to eat here again! read more

I grew up here and always went to this place while living there. The last time I went I was served a drink that tasted like it had been made from toilet water. Terraza's is among the better Mexican food restaurants in town. Not gourmet, just decent Mexican food in a forlorn, dust-driven town. But the best here would be an also ran in El Paso, SA, Austin or Houston. Being fair, this is enjoyable food. It is just that everything is refried beans and rice plus the meat dish. My coworker and I each had the two bean burrito plate, which was basically a can of beans wrapped in a tortilla and topped with cheese. It was a fair amount of food and decently priced. If I was rating only the service, this place would get 5 stars. Our server was so friendly, polite and accommodating. I really wanted to like the food at this restaurant, but I just didn't. It looked like a lot of locals ate there, so you'd assume it was great food. I ordered the 3 enchilada plate with 2 chicken enchiladas with green sauce and 1 beef (only ground beef - no shredded beef option) with red sauce. First let me say that the green sauce was nothing like the green chili sauce you'd get in New Mexico - this was not that flavorful. The red was only ok as well. I will say that the beans were some of the most flavorful I've had. They don't serve any alcohol, but you can bring your own...not helpful unless you know that in advance. read more

Thanks to my experience here with both service and food quality, I am certain that should I ever be in the Pecos area again, I will eat almost anywhere else. Let's start with the good. The salsa was spicy but flavorful. The beans were among the best I've ever had. Unfortunately the bad just simply outweighs the good. The queso was just plain bizarre. It was nearly flavorless (we were adding salt to it) and was such a weird consistency and color that it went largely unfinished. The tamale was dry and had an oddly chemical taste to it - I couldn't quite put my finger on it. The green sauce is spicy and I thought looked promising, but it too was lacking flavor. The enchiladas just fell flat... Cheese rolled up into a hard corn tortilla and topped with a sauce that tasted bland. The food was reason enough for me to choose another place, but the service just reiterated that. Our waitress was on the phone while coming to our table to bring ketchup and fill water glasses. The little things like, "Come back soon" or "Thanks for coming in" or "Have a nice day" actually make for a good experience - not tossing the credit card slip and making me search for my own pen to use to sign the bill.
