We used to eat at the Cedar Park location several times a month. We now live in the Houston area. We were coming into Georgetown to visit friends and were so happy to see this Bush's so we stopped. We immediately knew this was not going to be the same experience we were use to. The floors were dirty, there wasn't a clean table and the cashier had NO business front facing customers. She barely looked at us, spoke so quietly we had to ask her to repeat what she said, and got one of the two orders wrong.. Then one of the sporks broke and we asked for another and she all but threw it across the counter. For management, our ticket #266 @5:32pm on May 23rd. You know the old question about what came first, the chicken or the egg? You can ask that same question about Pandemic take away food service. Was it that old drive-thru success evolved into ordering online? Or is online ordering the egg for a new type of service? I would say drive-thru has evolved from old-school service just like Bush's. Bush's service was unique before the pandemic. You drive up to a two lane ordering area under an awning. There is a wooden board on the wall attached to the restaurant with the menu painted on it. A server is there to take your order. Every time I've been there they read back the order then asked me to pull forward to where there was an exit from the restaurant. The server runs back inside and minutes later returns to your new parking spot with the food. They review the order before giving it to you. It is fast, efficient and wonderfully retro. The chicken is delicious, although very occasionally I've had a piece that may have been under the heat lamp a bit too long. And Their sides, especially the mashed potatoes and green beans are my favorites, are delicious. Their packaging keeps everything hot until you're home and scarfing it down. And their menu includes gizzards, livers and Blue Bell ice cream. Don't let the old school look fool you. The food is old school good but the service keeps up with something surprisingly similar but far more high tech, Chick-Fil-A. Good stuff!! ....Wait. Could the DRIVE-IN be the egg?? Service is usually good but quality is very inconsistent. Sometimes it's the best ever, sometimes it sucks. I ordered a 12 piece liver/gizzards and I know sometimes it takes a while because they often make the livers fresh. I don't mind waiting for fresh food at all but this time it was definitely not fresh. Cold, overcooked, hard livers and gizzards. Cold fries. Hard, dry roll. The Bushbaby sandwich was good and I can tell it would have been fantastic if it was not cold and sloppily prepared, smashed down like someone had sat on it. For the record, I pulled into a parking spot and ate right after receiving my order so I didn't allow the food to get cold. Should I have brought it to their attention and allowed them the opportunity to replace my order? Maybe. Will I eat at this Bush's location again? Probably, but it will be a while. read more

We grabbed dinner from here tonight. The staff is very friendly. Currently only the drive through is open. Mrs. Texas got the tenders meal with fried okra, and she enjoyed her meal very much. I got my usual, Slap Yo Momma Good Fried Chicken Gizzards, aka Crack Balls as they're so addictive !!! Of course I enjoyed my meal very much as well. Disgusting, rotten chicken tenders today. A huge order of them. We are some and then realized they were bad. We took them back and spoke to the General Manager, who said "they had gone bad because they were out of rotation from the bad weather." No apology, no extra refund, no trying to make it better. What a joke of a way to handle customers you knowingly served bad chicken to! Four of our group were children! He showed no shock, no empathy, no care in the world and then only refunded us for the chicken portion, nothing else. And this was the General Manager. Wow! I'm just going to bite my tongue and just say this location could use a lot of work. Multiple times my family has had issues. Main issue each time is the chicken is cold. My chicken should be hotter than the inside of my car when I get it, yet it's not. Another issue is if I ask for the 4 piece tender, please just give the 4 piece tender versus the chicken nuggets we actually get. I shouldn't be getting 4 small nuggets for my tenders. You can just come back outside and ask if I'm willing to wait the 7.5 minutes for more tenders. I understand how the game works at Bush's. I've worked at multiple locations for 5+ years. Well, the opening of tonight's dinner from Bush's Chicken in Georgetown was quite the letdown. I ordered the 12 piece gizzard meal with fries and a side of coleslaw. Upon opening the box, I discovered just a couple of gizzards, and a bunch of breading crumbs. Just by looking at it, you could tell this chicken had been sitting under the warmer for a bit... tasting it confirmed what I saw. I ordered from the drive thru so I did not discover the quantity and condition of the food until I got home.... a fast food meal is not worth driving all the way back to the restaurant to complain about.... but i wanted to express my disappointment. Tuesdays are family pack day at Bush's Chicken. Their large family pack is a good value. It has lots of tenders, two sides and their gallon of sweet tea is reasonably priced. I think it cost me about $25 to feed 6 hungry adults this past Tuesday. Tenders are good, not greasy, but also don't have any seasoning in their batter. It is a personal taste thing with me, but I prefer a bit spicier chicken tender than they make. You can see the quality of the chicken they use. It is high quality with no tendons and other connective tissue. I have eaten their mashed potato and green bean sides. Tasty also. I went through the drive through line at Bush's chicken, which has two lanes, and servers taking your order and delivering it back to you. I waited my turn in line. People ahead of me were served. The servers clearly saw me and looked at me. Then the car behind me was served, and the car behind that was served. I rolled down the window and tried to flag down two different servers, both of whom looked at me and did nothing. I let them know that nobody took my order, even after the person behind me was served and drove away. The server who I told this to didn't do anything, and just stared at me. I then just drove off. I know that there are supply chain and labor shortages right now, but this is the worst customer service I've seen in a long time. So no other customers waiting it wasn't busy at all but after 10 minutes nobody ever came so I left. I visited Bush's today and was immediately struck by the fact that the employees were not wearing masks while interacting with customers at their car windows. Nor were they staying 6ft from us. After returning home and calling the corporate office in Waco and speaking with a manager in Georgetown, I have been told that this restaurant will no longer wear masks when serving customers at the drive through. I was told they had discontinued wearing masks because the employees get "too hot". So in essence, the employees' comfort is of greater importance than spreading COVID-19 in our area. Very nice staff. Chicken was undercooked. The tenders were so light in color that the batter was a light tan, almost white; not that beautiful brown crust normally seen on chicken, and the chicken meat itself was not done and had a pinkish hue. The fries were okay, not crispy at all and kinda greasy. The roll was nice and soft but not special. White gravy was ok, in fact it saved the entire meal. The sweet tea was amazing. We probably won't be back, I've learned the hard way that if a chicken place undercooks their chicken once, they undercook it always (due to the timers they use). The employees have to do a lot and they are quiet efficient. The drive thru only seem to take a long time if you don't understand what it's like to work in fast food, short staffed, 2 years into a pandemic. The servers have amazing attitudes and cheerfulness and are always ready to go the extra mile to make sure your meals are exactly what you want. They answer all of your questions, help you make informed decisions and then get started making your meal before they run it back outside to you. While inside, you can see every staff member cooking, cleaning, prepping and handling costumers as quickly as possible. There isn't much slack in this company. Please have some patience and understanding that each employee is really doing their best, and probably not getting paid to be so cheerful. They do it for the customers. read more

My boyfriend was craving chicken so we decided to try Bush's for the first time. We usually prefer canes or chicken express but this is near our new apartment and we have never been. We were very disappointed in our meal, to say the least. We went through the drive thru today (Sunday) at 2:30pm and ordered an 8 piece mixed, crispy chicken salad, sweet tea and a family size mac-n-cheese. We live one light away and as soon as we got home we opened the box and dug in. The chicken was super cold, the mac runny and flavorless, the sweet tea was most definitely sitting out all day (it's beyond terrible) and they did not include sauce, napkins or silverware in the bag. With so many other fast food options around we will probably not be returning. read more

I have NEVER in my life been to a worse fast food restaurant! I have been to over 5 bushes and worked at a bushes also and this is not the kinda of service I would like from anywhere. I got 3 tender rolls. the 3 tenders were SMALLER THAN THE SIZE OF MY PINKY. the strawberry cream pie looked liked it was stomped on by a 2 year old... I drove back 15 mins.. to speak to manager that I asked for a whole new meal and showed her my old one and she even looked at it with disgust???? she gave me my money back but no food.. not even a pie to enjoy on my way home.. this place needs a new manager and maybe a class over how to make things right with a dissatisfied customer. read more
