4 stars is generous but since it's in the suburbs of Denver I knew the Asian food quality would not be anything compared to that of Houston and Los Angeles. First of all, I'll focus on the positives. Customer service is great. They always answer the phone and get our Togo orders right. They have a nice restaurant with a desirable back patio for dining which faces the mountains. Second, they have a decent beer and wine menu. Third, my Caucasian boyfriend who never had Thai food until last year loves the pad Thai and always orders it. However the pad Thai is a 3.5 stars out of 5 in my book. Fourth, I usually get the Panang curry which is good and consistent. Sometimes I get the Tom Kha soup, which is a small portion by the way, hence the $9. For spice level we usually get medium or medium hot, and it's got some fire to it. As for the rice, I swear that sometimes it arrives not entirely cooked (maybe 95%?). Nothing like having a few hard rice kernels but when you don't have a lot of options you're not too picky. As for the rest of the menu, they don't even have papaya salad. And the prices are really high. I am guessing it's high due to its location and high rent prices because $18 for mediocre pad Thai is ridiculous. Again, it's a convenience thing for my boyfriend and me and it's quick and easy. As long as one of us is happy and there is a quick Thai option in our backyard, this place works. I did recently however venture out and tried Khao Soi Thai in Lafayette which is about 10 minutes from Busaba. Hands down, my new go to Thai restaurant (as long as I don't mind the 10 min drive). The quality is much better and so are the prices. read more

The Rama sauce was not properly mixed, it hsd dry pockrrs of spice. Ut was not extra hot as I had ordered. I also ordered extra veggies in my soup, but got chunks of tofu instead. We were very disappointed and may not be back. read more

Very disappointed in the Pad Thai. Might be the most bland one I have ever ordered. Had eaten Busaba at the Louisville location before and didn't think it had been this bad. Either this location hasn't nailed it or overall Busaba quality has really gone down. read more

I never ordered take-out from Busaba before, figuring they were oriented towards dine-in guests. Boy, was I wrong! They have a separate entrance for pick-up orders, so you aren't crowding through folks waiting for a table. Through some secret magic, everything was still super-hot when I got it home, and every bit as delicious as if I was eating there. We ordered takeout from Busaba tonight, as I usually do, to make the pickup process quick and easy. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I realized they had forgotten to add one of the dishes and a drink to my order. I had to wait about 7 minutes for them to prepare it. Once I got home and was ready to enjoy my meal, I was shocked to find a long strand of hair in the food! When I called the restaurant and told them what happened the manager was very apologetic. He refunded my money and offered to make a new dish for me. He stated that he would do everything he could to make sure that this never happens again. read more

I given this restaurant another shot. Don't want to be biases. This time I order for five new people who never eaten here and never try Thai food. I have a single mom, two college students, one maintenance person and a Hispanic lady. I all fell in love with the pumpkin curry. I have to give Instructions to make it right. I'm a huge fan of the Busaba in Louisville so I was super excited to hear of the Erie location opening up. I love the ambiance and it's perfect for date night! Bathrooms were clean and the food tasted great. I will say the menu was a bit limited and didn't exactly mirror everything that is being offered in Louisville and the service wasn't as great either. Although I was promptly seated by the hostess; my waitress wasn't the friendliest which made it a little awkward throughout the entire evening. I probably won't go out of my way, but will stop by for lunch one of these days. If I had to rate all locations the Louisville would be on top, followed by Erie, and last in line would be the Boulder location. Don't take my word for it though and try it yourself! read more

We were huge fans of Busaba in Louisville and really excited about the Erie location! It's conveniently set off of Baseline and has ample parking. The ambience is simple, much like the Louisville location. There's a back patio and we wonder if seating will be added once the weather warms up! As expected, the food is fresh and delicious. One of our favorite Thai spots in the area. As someone who is vegan, I really appreciate all of the incredible choices clearly marked on the menu. The drunken noodles with tofu are my favorite ;). I only wish there was a way to make the pumpkin curry vegan! Highly recommend Busaba for take out or dine-in, date night or a family dinner spot. read more

This Busaba location in Erie is just lovely. The back windows have views of the hills and mountains. It looks like they'll have room for a patio when the weather is nice. The food is top notch. I really hate writing bad reviews. But for the price - this restaurant needs work. Chicken Satay was dry, sauces were okay...the peanut sauce was more like cinnamon sauce. The fried rice was mushy and the vegetables were not cooked and the egg rolls seemed like food service. I admit we are food snobs at time - but have had better Thai at food trucks in Detroit. The price point suggests better than .... But the menu and quality of food is not. We know that other locations of Busaba get great reviews....so perhaps this was a bad day for this location...but we don't plan to go here again. read more

So I have been a huge fan of Busaba for many many years. I believe they have the best Thai in the Denver metro. Consistently good food with good balance of spices, garlic, soy, citrus and fish sauce. Thus I had to try their latest location as I have only been to the original in Louisville. That said, I think there are still a few things that need to be worked out here. While the staff were friendly, things seemed a bit chaotic as at times there were alot of staff available, to none. Being used to the service in Louisville, this needs some work. The overall space is really nice and inviting for both a date and business. The food was good as usual, so if you are in the area, give it a try and it may become your favorite Thai place in the Denver metro too. read more

As someone that grew up in the heart of Chicago, where there are many great Thai restaurants, it was difficult to find a Thai restaurant here in Denver that would bring me back to the city of Chicago. It is a different restaurant with an Americanized flavor to cater to the surrounding population. Pad Thai tasted like it was seasoned with salt and paprika. Probably because they're afraid of fish sauce. Honestly, it tastes like frozen Thai food reheated at the grocery store. I don't even understand why it uses the Busaba name. The food was just OK, typical favors nothing super original, or exceptional. Service also just Ok, the waiter forgot to bring one item we ordered, brought it at the very end when we were finishing. Also, forgot our dessert we had ordered. The ambience, also nothing special, lots of chairs and tables, and one big room no frills there, and it was too cold had to put on my jacket. Then the tip, one of my favorite pet peeves. There were seven of us so they automatically add on 20%, I may have left less than 20% bet the service was subpar, but an automatic tip in my mind goes against the spirit of tipping. I've tried this place a few times hoping I just got unlucky, but I don't think it's the case. The service is the main reason I won't go here anymore. In person or take out is the same: incredibly slow, often gets the order wrong, and the staff couldn't care less. I would overlook all of this if the food was good, but it's pretty average for this sort of restaurant. Overall there are too many other better choices around to waste my time here. read more

Have ate here and done take out numerous times. Very disappointed to say the least. Hoping this would turn the corner and be consistent like the mothership in Louisville. Hasn't happened yet. The last straw was 2 days ago for take out- food was just not good - bland, diluted, poorly cooked - my Tom Yum wasn't clear, it looked like someone accidentally put coconut milk in it- couldn't cut the fried tofu bc it was so over cooked. Food was okay, the service was great and friendly. But I'm concerned about a few sanitation issues. First our table was soaked from the multiple use rag they used to wipe it with.. Napkins were placed in the middle of this water. Wiped it ourselves and got new napkins. Then the young girl bussing a table was putting the water from half used water glasses back into the bottle it came in. Hopefully this bottle is sanitized before refilling?? Then another young bussing person picked up one of the glasses from this same table, held it up to the light to see if it was clean and took it to the bar rather than sending it back to the kitchen, with the other classes, to be washed. Don't know what happened to the unwashed glass that went to the bar. Don't plan on eating there again! read more

Even though the restaurant was completely full with a wait to be seated the entire staff did a superb job (with a smile which seems to be rare now) of making sure we were taken care of. We didn't feel rushed to finish. Great mixed drinks from the bar and while we had to wait a bit for the food which was to be expected with the full house it was hot and delicious.
