Carne asada burrito with a side of salsa verde

Staff is always friendly and the food is always delicious, the burritos are HEAVYYY!!!

Very clean interior located next to a gas station. Ample parking on the far right of the building. The burritos are made fresh and they have lots of great vegetarian options and a good selection of side for your chips. Fountain and bottle drinks. Generous hearty print portions with food music inside. I love the guacamole and pico! So fresh tasting!

Waste of money and not authentic at all. We recently moved to the neighborhood and were excited to try Burrito Perdido, as it came highly recommended. My husband brought home a giant steak burrito for us to share, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Every bite I took was filled with inedible cartilage pieces, and at one point, I even bit into a piece with an artery, which was beyond unappetizing. After five bites, I had to stop eating altogether as every bite I had to spit out..... I called the restaurant to ask about the cut of meat used, and while the person I spoke with wasn't sure, they did acknowledge that what I described didn't sound normal and suggested trying the chicken burrito instead. Honestly, the experience really grossed me out, and I'm so disappointed because we were looking forward to making this a go-to spot.

Got the Cali burrito and it was soooo good!! We got carry out, but the place seemed nice and laidback. I will definitely be ordering from here again at some point! The burrito was massive!!! Ordered the biggest size for multiple meals.

Just updating my review here...it's been a long while since we've been here in store. Hubs and I decided for some take out last night, hubby ordered a steak burrito, it was huuuuuge! I ordered a chicken burrito bowl. I've been wanting to try their bowls since I've been seeing it's picture on social for weeks. I asked the young man what all comes in the bowl, I asked if he could put mixed greens instead of rice in the bowl and he said yes. Unfortunately I didn't get any. The bowl had beans, cheese, chicken, guacamole, and pico de gallo. No worries. It was still delicious! It was actually more than I thought. Hubby loved his burrito. We also ordered chips and salsa. I forgot how much we love their daily made salsa. So happy this place still exists and is right around the corner from us! Still a happy fan of Burrito Perdido!

Love this place! It's attached to a gas station but don't let that fool you! Everything tastes fresh! Any burrito can be made into a bowl! I highly recommend asking for their got sauce if you like spicy! They have parking available. Dine in and carryout options. The inside is a little small so try to go when it's not lunch/dinner rush if you're wanting to eat inside.

I really wanted to love this place. It's easily been 5+ years since I last visited. I remembered not being a fan before, but I wanted to give it another try. I asked the gal taking my order how big the tacos were. She made them seem an average size, so I ordered two. Come to find out, they're excessively large and messy to eat. I ordered one chicken and one steak, both without beans. They felt a bit like a soggy, unwrapped burrito and literally fell apart each time I'd try to take a bite. I didn't really like how the cheese was melted into the tortilla instead of fresh and shredded on top. Both meats were fatty and not very flavorful. I really enjoyed the green hot sauce as well as the salsa for the chips. I also appreciated that these were free with Yelp check-in. The staff were all friendly and I know the owners are fantastic as well. They are very community-oriented and I love that about this place. I wanted to like my meal here, but I just don't think it's the spot for me. I prefer a more authentic taco.

Very sneaky, hidden under Cedar Mart's awning

***GAS STATION EATS ALERT*** NOTE: Based on a take out experience. Would you believe that I have passed Burrito Perdido (BP) a thousand times and never knew it?! It's next to the Aldi I normally shop at. Their sign has faded over the years and the front door is tucked underneath Cedar Mart, their neighbor's, awning. It's located at the Sunoco gas station, so the gas pumps make it even harder to see from the road if you have tunnel vision while driving. First impression? So many things to LOVE about this place! - Vibe - Fast casual dining. What did you expect? It's at a gas station, so no waiter service with a tuxedo, but it's still delightful! Decor is a mix of portraits of historical figures and movies/celebs. Some of the furniture looks weathered from the last few years (but don't we all from this ongoing pandemic), but it adds to that Gas Station eats charm. Counter service with self serve drink station and mix of booth seats and tables & chairs. - TLC - The two girl team at the service counter were fantastic! I let them know it was my first time and they were so helpful with all my questions. They made recommendations and they even let me in on a secret, but more on that later. Read on... - Noms - Burritos are usually my husband's thing and I couldn't decide between the traditional burrito wrapped in a tortilla or a Burrito Bowl so, when in doubt, choose both LOL. Regular Half + Half (you pick two: I chose Steak and Roasted Veg) Burrito Bowl - I initially thought this was the "Giant" size, but no, it's the regular so I'm afraid to imagine what the Giant looks like. The steak is cut into small cubed pieces. The Roasted veg is great, cut into large chunks instead of strips (peppers, zucchini, onions). The bowl comes with beans, rice, lettuce, their homemade salsa, mozzarella and I added guac for $1 (that's incredible!). I'm still eating from it and it's almost dinner time. Round 2 coming up! Regular Half + Half (you pick two: I chose Roasted Pork and Roasted Veg) Burrito - this thing was so heavy, it made a dent on the lid of my burrito bowl haha. It is also bigger than my hand, see pic. FYI, "roasted" pork is a pulled pork, not pieces, in case you were wondering, because I did. These details are important right? Extra bonus points: - Check in on their Yelp page and they give you FREE chips and salsa (and this is no joke of a dipping sauce size, this is legit, homemade, fresh salsa packed in a pretty good size, I would say small soup size, container. SOOOOO GOOOD! Whole paper bag full of chips. - All prices indicated on menu include the 11.5% (WTF Virginia?!) sales tax. Score! This makes for easy calculating for this math genius (ahem...cough cough). So if you consider the steep tax rate, the prices are amazing for the amount of food you're getting! - Ok, come closer. This is the secret. so let's keep in between us, shall we? She said that if the portions are too much, you can order "mini" items. I was wondering about that since they mention "mini" items under the Kids Sunday special. She said this is a secret menu item thing, not really advertised, but you can see the difference in size, for example, the burrito sizes (see pic attached). Honestly though, for the price, just get the regular or Giant and you can eat from it for at least 2 meals! - Kids - 12 yo and under eat free on Sunday! And like I mentioned, the Kids menu is any item in "mini" size. - Lots of vegetarian options with vegan cheese or vegan sour cream options - Other observations - - I noticed a "Drive Thru" sign where I parked, not sure if it was for BP or for Cedar Mart so I'll have to inquire the next time I go. If it is theirs, how convenient! - They have a food truck and I think that's actually how they started! They seem to make appearances all around the 757, especially at local breweries. I've seem pics of breakfast burritos so look out for those! - They have a daily special that they seem to announce on FB. Today, it was Chicken and Rice for $10 (again, cheap!) -They have a sign on top of their service counter about fresh ingredients and not owning a can opener and I believe it! Overall, I love their straightforward menu, really easy to understand and easy to make decisions. They have a handful of different dishes will all the same choices of protein or veg, so just pick the kind you want, same ingredients, just different form. For our plant based diet friends, looks like anything can be made vegetarian/vegan friendly and if you consider that their prices have taxes included, it's a sweet deal and generous portions to boot! Stay safe, Friends!

Burnt steak. Awful. Complete waste of $15.00.

The staff is always welcoming here, and one of the things we appreciate most is the consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, the food is reliably fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile. After a rather indulgent lunch, we decided to keep dinner light and split the Chicken Taco Salad along with a small quesadilla. The taco salad arrived in a crisp tortilla bowl piled high with seasoned chicken, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and plenty of melted cheese. The quesadilla was nicely toasted with tender chicken and gooey cheese, while the creamy refried beans rounded out the meal perfectly. Everything was simple, satisfying, and prepared with care. If you're looking for authentic Mexican street food, friendly service, and generous portions at a fair price, La Hacienda continues to deliver. It's the kind of dependable neighborhood restaurant that earns repeat visits, and we'll certainly be back.

For my daughter and I we were able to snag a table after waiting about 10 mins. My daughter ordered the shredded chicken quesadilla.. it was a good size portion with lots of chicken inside. Her only complaint was that the dish was greasy... I went with the Chicken Fajitas. They were good as well. The chicken has a lot of oil in the pan which also made this dish very oily. The chicken was bland in flavor.. but they gave a lot of chicken for 1 person. The white sauce with the chips was the best. A few reviews say it was spicy.. but didn't taste any spice at all. The biggest complaint would be the ambience... it was very noisy and hard to hear someone talking to you. As well, for a Mexican restaurant, I didn't hear any music playing. The majority of the other dinner options are what you would fine at other Mexican restaurants but they have a couple different items like a baked potato with chicken, and the option of scallops in enchiladas. The table side guacamole is a MUST try! The large margaritas are LARGE- 7/10 for jalapeño margarita, I wish the jalapeño was muddled a bit to really bring out the flavors of the pepper. I would also suggest a jalapeño infused tequila to take the taste from a 7 to a 9 or 10.

Our waiter was very nice (albeit a bit awkward), but we were able to order quickly and in true good Mexican food restaurant fashion, the food came out quickly as well. It was all fresh and quite good (I believe I ordered street tacos and my friend ordered birria tacos). Missed opportunity for them not having sauces on the table, but also understanding that a) it was late, and b) all Mexican restaurants don't do this, especially if they are not a taqueria or another spot that focuses on tacos. The ambiance was fine, nothing special, but it felt nice in there. The seats weren't too close together, and even the booths had quite a bit of room, so that was nice. It was also all a good price, in my opinion! I would definitely go back to this spot, and honestly I'm kind of curious to know if it's different at different times of the day (Saturday afternoon/evening vs. a weekday/night).
