I'm from Los Angeles and these tacos are pretty close to the street tacos I'm used to having... The flavors hit just right! I had the Nopal tacos.... What's missing Jamaica and Mexican Coke.... Had the Guacamole and Chips... Note to the owner for $14.00 the chips should be fresh and hot but the guacamole is good! If I'm ever craving tacos in 10 minutes definitely a stop I would consider!

I saw this place on the news and had to give it a try. I was not impressed; the food is average. But what turned me off was the price. I totally get that food prices have gone up. But an order of rice and beans on the side was $10. I got three tacos, and it was $17. So three tacos, rice, beans, and a drink were a little over $30. The service was fine --nothing to complain about --and the restaurant is small. I think if the prices were lower, I would try it again. I doubt that would happen.

Horchata. Delicious.

We stopped for a quick bit to eat yesterday before we ran our errands. Krazy trompos is always a good choice. I was in a nacho mood but I didn't want the fries in there so I just ordered the chori dip with chips. It came out in this cute little molcajete! It was a large potion and the lady said if I needed more chips, to just let her know. It was delicious. Hubby got a steak torta and a steak queso taco. Their tortas are always so good. Their bread is just so thin and crisp and perfect. Oh I got a horchata too. The largest size I could get..which was a large and it was a lot. My horchata loving self was happy. I love this place.

Strawberries & Cream

Compramos un orden de fresas con crema y salieron a $9. No manches. Este pinche orden tan chiquito desgraciado salió a $9???? Y las fresas ni son frescas, saben descongeladas. Worst order of fresas con crema ever. They're bitter and taste frozen burnt, this portion for $9 is absolutely insane and not worth a cent of what we had paid. Absolute trash. Mejor no comen aquí porque la comida ni es auténtica.

Krazy Trompos is located along S Rosemont Rd. directly next to the Wawa. It is roughly one mile south of the I-264 interchange. You can access it from either side of the road by turning at the traffic light next to Wawa and go through Wawa to get there. Otherwise, you can turn in from the southbound direction of Rosemont Rd. My visit here was on January 14, 2025 around 3:45 pm. I am always up for trying places I haven't been to before. What brought me in was a coupon that was on the back of a Kroger receipt. I had seen some really good reviews overall, so that's what put me over the top to try the place. At the time of day my mom and I came in, it wasn't that busy. There were vibrant colors and such inside. It would take a few minutes to check out what we wanted. In the end, I went with having three Queso Tacos, one with Pork, one with Brisket, and one with Chicken. I chose that way in order to keep carb intake to a minimum. I added a side of beans as well. My mom decided to just go with the chips and queso appetizer. They were very friendly up there at the counter. About ten minutes later, the food came out to the table. Everything looked good, but in this case, looks can be deceiving. The chips were just falling apart and the queso was not thick at all. The queso was also lukewarm at best. The queso tacos I had looked good too, but they were also lukewarm at best. The taste of them were okay, but nothing that would give me a wow factor. The beans were good too. In general, the food reminded me of stuff you can buy at your local grocery store. Overall, there wasn't anything that would get me to come back very quickly. I was really looking forward to a great meal based on other reviews I have seen. Maybe this was an off day, but things should always be on it. I wonder if others have had issues in the past, as after we had eaten and I got home, I noticed that they have a message at the bottom of the receipt saying that even if there is an issue, they won't do any refunds or such too. During the time we were eating, there was no staff out in the main area. Looking at the cost, compared to other places, it was higher comparatively to the amount and quality of food. They were all in the back. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be in a rush to come back. There are many other places that I have had better experiences with.

Veggie Burrito

Definitely not my favorite burrito if I'm being honest. I walked in, and there was a board saying $13 burritos, so I go ahead and order one, along with a large horchata. The girl asked if everything on it was alright and I said yeah. I then sit and wait for my food, since I ordered it to-go, and just sat by the door. I was the only one in there at the start, but more people started coming in as I waited. After a bit, I got my food and drink and went home to eat. I tried my drink first as I drove. The horchata was refreshing and had a lot of cinnamon flavor. Then, I opened up my burrito, which was a good hefty one. I noticed as I was eating it though, I don't think they put any guacamole, sour cream, or onions on there. They put like a few tomatoes and a little bit of cilantro, but not much. If they did put sour cream, it was only a little as well. I also think they just put pinto beans instead of refried. I don't know. It just did not seem like the burrito they advertise. The lettuce was also not properly proportioned throughout the burrito. Was it still good? Sure. Was it what I ordered? Not completely. I just don't know why they forgot to put stuff on there. Maybe it had something to do with the two guys who ordered burritos after me asking for things NOT to be on their burrito, but I have no clue. Could it be I ordered a different burrito than the one that's on their menu? Maybe? I would've paid the $2 more to have everything properly on there if that's the case. Gonna have to stick with the tortas from there for now I suppose.

Great food. Everyone has heard of Taco Tuesday and we decided to put that to the test in Virginia. We were on our way to Trader Joe's (you caught that review right) before stopping here to grab something small. I decided to get the four street taco special. I wanted to get four different meats but if you do the special you only get two proteins. I chose the carne asada and cow tongue. All I can say is "packed with flavor". Cilantro, onions, delicious marinated meats, and you add the house spicy (habanero) or mild (guacamole) takes your tastes bud to another level. I really loved everyone of the tacos and wish I discovered it earlier. Overall five stars. The food came quick and package nicely so nothing falls into disarray. The place has limited indoor seating and is well maintained and clean. Definite a stop any day of the week. M

Small venue. Good service. The food was good. Bullet hole in the glass storefront needs to be repaired. Thumbs up!

If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in Virginia Beach, you need to check out Krazy Trompos at 217 S Rosemont Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452! They're using fresh, local ingredients to bring you amazing street-style Mexican food, and let me tell you, it's worth the visit. I started with their housemade guacamole and chips, and wow--so fresh with just the right kick of heat. The chips were crispy perfection! Then I had the queso birria tacos with consommé and rice on the side. The tacos were wrapped in handmade shells, which made them even better. Of course, I had to add some guac and their housemade hot sauce--chef's kiss! If you're craving some delicious Mexican food in Virginia Beach, swing by krazy trompos . You won't regret it!

I did wait in line but it was worth it. Really good street tacos. Plenty of meat and toppings. The sauce was flavorful. We got all the different ones to try all of them. Honestly they were all really good. I thought I would have a favorite but I like all of them

We were craving a good burrito and had not tried this place yet. We walked in to a cute little restaurant and were greeted warmly by the staff. We ordered and it was done super quick. Got it home and devoured most of it before we remembered to take a picture. Definitely found our new go-to spot!

I would give this place 5 out of 5 stars, if the guacamole was better. The guacamole was basically pico de gallo with a tiny bit of avocado. The agua de horchata and the tacos de birria were amazing! Service was fast and the atmosphere was perfect.

The food was savory good and fresh. The service was quick and friendly. Great small business to support.

Some restaurants make you wait for a smaller table, so it was nice that they didn't do that here. It took about 15 minutes for someone to come take our initial drink order, which was a little slow, but service moved smoothly after that with no long waits for food or additional drinks. For appetizers, we ordered the chicharrón botanero, which was delicious and perfectly crispy. Just a heads up: it's pork belly, so it's definitely on the fattier side. If you enjoy rich, crispy pork, you'll love it, but if fatty meat isn't your thing, this might not be the dish for you. For drinks, we had a flavored margarita and a mojito, and both were strong and very good. I ordered the chicken fajita taco salad. The flavor was good and the chicken was well seasoned, but there was barely any actual lettuce, which was a little disappointing since I was expecting more of a true salad. Overall, good food, strong drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere. A couple small service and balance issues kept it from being a full five stars, but I'd still come back.

We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it ended up being one of those meals where everything just hit. First off, those margaritas are no joke. Massive, flavorful, and strong in the best way. Bonus: they do $2 off specialty margs on Mondays, which is dangerous knowledge now that I have it. I went with the Coco Loco Margarita (1800 coconut tequila, coconut milk, triple sec, and sweetened flaked coconut), and WOW. It was creamy, refreshing, and honestly tasted like a tropical vacation. My friends ordered the House Marg, Peach Sangria Marg and the Spicy Pineapple & Cilantro Marg, all were just as impressive. The spicy one had a great kick without being overwhelming, and the peach option was super smooth and fruity. Before we even ordered, the complimentary chips, salsa, and that famous white sauce came out ... and let me tell you, that white sauce is to die for. I could've eaten that all night. For my dinner, I had the asada enchiladas, and I'm still thinking about them. Perfectly cooked grilled steak laid over cheesy enchiladas with verde sauce, plus rice and black beans. I loved that the steak was on top because once I got full, I could still pick at the protein (elite move). My friends got arroz con pollo, carne asada tacos, and the wildest dish on the table ... the El Molcajete. It came out sizzling in a stone bowl loaded with shrimp, beef, chicken, chorizo, cactus, and all the fixings. We all shared bites and it was unreal. We ended the night with the staff singing happy birthday and completely embarrassing my friend with a sombrero and a candle in his shot. Incredible. Definitely will be coming back, especially for that margarita deal and birthdays!

Happy hour was 3-6pm I think, and there were 2 taco specials on the board. I'm not sure if it was valid or not.. There was one person at the bar taking orders, serving drinks, and pretty much running the place. She was very busy. The anxiety of watching her try to handle everything made me a little uncomfortable. She was doing her best, and kuddos to her for not flipping a table and walking out. She was nice, but she asked us every 3-4 minutes if we knew what we were ordering. It was very aggravating. I don't think she realized after several times we were over it. The inside is pretty much a bar setting with a few booths. It's very dated and low-key kind of gloomy inside. I'd say this is a bar for locals, not really a restaurant. It's definitely the kind of food you could eat if you had a few drinks, maybe. But sober, heck no!! Lol. Ugh. I was excited to try them because they have some 5 star reviews, but it wasn't what I expected. When it was time to eat she went and got the cook from outside. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, and chicken nachos. We left and came back to pick up our order and the seats at the bar was packed at this point. The waitress met us as we walked in, with our food. I was hungry, so I tried the food in the car. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and thick as heck. It looked decent kinda sorta, in a way, maybe, just a little bit. Idk what to say. The fries were crispy but awkwardly greasy!! There was one tiny tomato on my burger and a huge onion that was a little moldy. I've never seen someone use a slice of onion this big on a burger. The burger definitely needed seasoning. I think if it had flavor it would have been decent. I'll give the burger a 4/10. My sister got the chicken nachos and she was not happy. Whatever mystery beans they had made were disgusting. They tasted old or something was off about them. The guacamole was a little sour tasting also, and the chicken was flavorless. She tried so hard to make it work, she even re-cooked the beans and it just didn't help. 2/10!!! She spent $25 and felt it was the worse decision she made all day. I wish I was exaggerating or something, but this is actual factual. The prices are reasonable, I'll say that. But it's definitely certain things to stay away from on the menu. I don't think we'd ever return. Maybe the tacos are better than what we had ordered. If you're looking for a drink maybe things would be better. I think they specialize in drinks over food!?
