Lousy Customer Service. Decent burritos, but thoughtless about customers. Bad experience trying to order online tonight. Their website validated my delivery order, and charged my card for delivery. One hour later, no burritos. I had to call to find out that they wouldn't deliver to me, and that they wouldn't offer a refund. I have to go out of my way to get a refund from a third party. "Call chompmenu for a refund," they said, and gave me the number after putting me on hold. Thanks a lot, guys. I'll think twice before choosing you in the future. read more

Best burritos for your buck in Gainesville! I love the combo of meat/ topping /salsa you can put together. Not only can this be a slightly cheaper alternative to somewhere like Chipotle, but it's better too!! Good customer service too! The only drawbacks are that chips/ dip are not included and there isn't much space to eat in. read more

My first experience at Burrito Famous, the staff took extra time to make sure I knew what the menu consisted of and how it works, they were also VERY patient as I inquired about all the sauces I was unfamiliar with and boy, was I pleased with my choices! -- I loved the chipotle ranch! (and still do!) Now I visit Burrito Famous often. The staff is friendly, the food selection is awesome and the beer is always cold! The staff are always happy to help me build the dankest of burritos! As a vegetarian, it's so nice to find a place where I am offered options beyond the typical "veggie burrito." mmm Tempeh! They also have good music playing inside and outside all the time. It's a great spot to hang out before (or after) a night on the town. Some reviewers like to compare Burrito Famous to the other burrito places in the area but I have to say that the home grown atmosphere at Burrito Famous shouldn't even be placed in the same category as the local chain resturaunts. I lived off of 34 street and 36th street and would ALWAYS come in late after work and/or for lunch on weekends. They had pinto beans and banana peppers but somewhere along the way they got rid of them as an option (bummer) the staff almost always were helpful and friendly. Almost. I'm a friendly guy and treat everyone with respect but a few times I have gotten a better experience with food ratios and customer service. So basically inconsistent across the board. Also a few times I got tacos and the troll curly haired looking gentleman who has been there forever just threw it together a MESS. It's not rocket science. As far as my star rating goes I was torn between 3 and 4. The food was okay, I ordered the burrito bowl an the portion was HUGE! They have a wide array of toppings to choose from. However, many of them are not fresh. Some of my lettuce was wilted & my jalapeños did not taste fresh. The meal came with a side of salsa and chips with a drink. I couldn't even eat it all. I've been here a couple times and they give you a lot of food and it's cheaper than chipotle. It's a pretty small restaurant on the corner of university and 34th but it never seems to get too busy. There are tables inside and outside so you can sit wherever you please. I have a small stomach and always have leftovers. In town and needed a place that delivered. First of all I probably got 3-4 small pieces of chicken. Their cilantro lime rice is plain rice. Oh and I asked for onions and they put a crap ton of raw red onions? Hmm oh and no pineapple. Glad to know I just wasted 15$ and a bowl of rice and half of a raw onion. The server's there make your meal so quickly and the hours are convenient for night shift workers looking for dinner delivery later in the night. Definitely check them out! I just paid $8 for rice and beans. This used to be my favorite spot back in college because they'd give you massive portions, but it looks like they've changed things up. You used to get a black box filled with enough food for two meals, but I got something half the size of it with a third of the food. If their protein scooper was any smaller, it would be a thimble. Seriously, it is probably 1/2 or maybe a 1/3 of the size of Chipotle's. The quality of the food was more bland than it was flavorful, and they look to charge you for any additional item. For less than $8, you could get a bowl loaded with protein and veggies from Grill Fresh, Chipotle, or Moe's. Seriously disappointed to see what used to be one of my favorite spots in Gainesville turn into a mediocre, expensive burrito spot. Way better than Chipotle. I got the beer-battered fish (double fish) w/ maduros and garlic lime sauce on my salad. It was insanity in my mouth. Also, in an effort to compete with Chipotle, the burrito girls wore tank tops that were not unrevealing. I wasn't sure if the amount of boobage exposed was appropriate, but I soldiered on. There are a lot of options and less structure than the Chipotle-overlord, so we felt we weren't doing so great with our speed, but the burrito girl assured us that we were FAR better than what usually comes in. I'll take it. This is my current favorite restaurant in the entire world, and will be so at least until tomorrow. read more

Wow, color me impressed. What appeared to be a podunk shack turned out to be a true diamond in the rough. I pulled up to Burrito Famous skeptical but I left fat and happy. The huge variety of ingredients was complemented by a colorful cast of employees. The playful banter of the aspiring college grads rolling my burrito gave me quite the trip down memory lane. Friendly and professional, these employees crafted me a monster of a burrito, not to mention the 1 dollar BF beer. This was great. Seating is limited but place is clean, cheap with friendly staff. Wide variety of fillings beyond the usual (tempeh, fish, steak and onion). Went with a vegan friend who recommended it, but can't say more about the vegan side as I was too busy scarfing down my own burrito to pay attention to his. The folks here are super friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. I've never been here before, and when I mentioned that to one of them, he walked me through the whole process of putting together my own burrito, giving me recommendations on what goes well with what and asking what types of things I liked or didn't. And he knew his stuff - it was truly delicious! While I loved the food, it was the people and the place I really fell in love with. Fun and pleasant people (including some other customers outside), great customer service, clean environment - there's even a little sink by the back door where you can wash your hands after eating without having to go to the bathroom (useful as that was one of the most stuffed burritos I've ever had and it eventually collapsed due to gravity). There was even a cute little dog station outside across the pavement and under the trees, where you can sit in the shade and look at the water while your pooch gets a slurp of water from a large water bowl and munches down a dog biscuit. I love coming here. The layout is a lot like Moe's. They offer cool things like plantains, avocado slices tempeh that you can put in your burrito. I went to this location on 7/17 shortly after they opened that day. I walked in to find the manager (an African American woman, around 30-40 years old) yelling at the top of her lungs to her employees. They did not notice me immediately, but instead she continued to yell (and swear profusely while doing so). The young lady that was being yelled at was on the verge of tears. This is not how management should treat their employees. I was offered apologies, but that didn't change what I saw. I will not be visiting this establishment again. Not only was it very awkward for everyone involved, but also unethical and unprofessional. I hope someone takes this seriously. UPDATE: The day after I posted this, both locations were quick to contact me and offer their condolences. They quickly fixed the issue in the store. In addition, I would like to add that the food here is consistently delicious (even though my to go orders are sometimes missing an ingredient lol). Thanks, guys! Cool place! I drive by this place every day going to and from work and I used to stop here once in a while when it was Subway. It's been open a couple of months now so I dropped in the other day to try a burrito. I got to pick out all the ingredients right in front of me in a build-as-you go format. I was not disappointed. It was very tasty and I like B.F.'s guacamole as well. Plus, it's reasonable priced. The only drawback is that it's located in a very tight dining room where the sun will make the seating area very hot when it comes through the windows late in the day if the blinds are not drawn. BF on Archer: I only come here if the tan girl with dark hair is working. She makes my food perfect every time and i have ordered a plethora of different things. I honestly enjoy the taste here though i know it's not for everyone. My favorite is the chicken diablo followed closely by beef. read more
