Well what they have been saying on the Google reviews isssss kinda true. Last time I stopped here, I watched a woman throw my order (to be picked up by customer) in the center of a work station, but no one called my name. Just about everything was cold and the chicken sandwich was incorrect, just like it was this time. Why am I paying for cheese and/or bacon on a sandwich but never getting it? Last time, cheese but no bacon...this time, no cheese or extra mayo. (Which they should actually put honey mustard as an option but they don't--if so many people like to dip their chicken strips in it, why not option it as an add-on to your sandwich??) Worst of all, no one has bothered to clean all the greasy fingerprints off the doors as you come in...hard to find a clean table as well. What does the nighttime crew DO before they leave? Just leave everything disgusting for the opening crew? That doesn't make good sense at all! Management needs to make either one or the other do some cleaning BEFORE opening for business the next day! Seriously!! How hard is it to wipe down some table tops and benches? 10 minutes of work goes a looooong way towards good impressions. Also, instead of mopping and sweeping while customers are trying to sit and eat...let's think about doing that BEFORE or AFTER they're in the building. Who wants air from the floor blowing God knows what into their faces or food?? Thank you to whoever the man was who directed both fans into my face and food. It'll be another long while before I come back again. While yes, the food TASTES good, my fries were quickly cold from the blowing fan on me and who knows what was being directed onto them from the floor. Again, no cheese on my sandwich, although AGAIN, I paid for something I did not get. Are the employees just not awake this time of day when they're just starting their shift? Sorry to put bad out there, but I'm a bit upset that one of the treats I grant myself after being pulled and prodded at the doctor's office is a coffee from somewhere that's pricey but the only place that offers coconut milk AND PDQ! PDQ is one of my favorite fast food places ever they have the best fries and their chicken tenders are so good I also really like the Buffy bleu sandwich and their shakes. They also have the best cookies ever. PDQ is a bit expensive but it's definitely worth it and they also have healthy options. One time at this location they forgot to give me a tender and they told me I could come back to get 3 more which was very nice. Also one of my other favorite thing about PDQ is they have the best sauces and they give you so many if you ask my favorite is the sweet siriacha and honey mustard oh also the zucchini fries are good honestly I've tried most of the menu and you can't go wrong. I love PDQ! You can't really go wrong with your meal selection, as I've never had something I didn't like. My go-to is a salad or just plain ol' tenders and fries. Bonus: they will give you unlimited sauces at no charge!! I like to get one of each for dipping - the sriracha or buffalo bleu sauce is where it's at. Trust me. Sign up for their rewards email club, they'll send you coupons and some free stuff!! They also run really fun milkshake specials and have a rotating flavor. PDQ has been my most frequented restaurant the last several months because it's close to our office and offers tasty chicken sandwiches and salads with quick and friendly service. I remember one time when I went with my friends and they had our order ready before we finished getting our drinks!! My go to's are the honey butter chicken sandwich or Buffy Bleu. If you prefer more health options the crispy chicken salad and also Cali club are great options also. They also have the option for tater tots or fries that go great with their many sauces such as their sweet Sriracha or creamy garlic. The service is on par with chickfila if not better as many of the employees will remember your name. Would highly recommend this place and will be back for more! read more

Recently revisited PDQ for early dinner togo. I was pleasantly surprised given Zaxby's quality of food and service locally has gone down hill and Chik-fil-a is just a nightmare to get in and out of and cut down on portion sizes too. I ordered the honey butter chicken sandwich meal with fries and large coke, and a 5 piece chicken tender meal with fries and large coke for my hubs and I. Came to about $22. It was hot, fresh, and definitely worth the money for the portion sizes. The waffle fries were excellent, better than Chik-Fil-A in my opinion. Chicken was very good too! They have great options for dipping sauces too. I like the Buffalo blue. Tried the PDQ sauce but it's more like a horseradish remoulade than a Zaxby's style sauce. PDQ is one of my favorite places in Gainesville. You truly can not go wrong with anything you choose but my personal favorite is the grilled chicken sandwich. When you first enter the building the delicious smell of chicken assaults your senses. Then as you walk in they have large menu boards right there in line. I personally love this as someone who has a vision issue having these menu boards up close is a blessing. They really know how to be handicap-friendly. Once you make your choice you can go up to place your order. They have the friendliest staff here. Drinks are self serve and their green tea is so refreshing. I also love they have a large handwashing station by the far end of the wall for kids and adults to wash their hands before eating. Once your order is placed wait time isn't long I only waited 10 minutes before they called my name. When I went to get my food they offer to bring it to my table which gain is so helpful for someone like myself with a mobility issue. Food always arrives fresh, hot, and delicious. Prices are reasonable and if you sign up for email they will notify you of great specials like their 2 meals for 12 dollars. This chain Texas-style BBQ restaurant is excellent! It is cafeteria style, without table service. The best thing here is the excellent burnt ends, which were beyond delicious, and with a tasty sauce. The sides are good, especially the corn and the bread pudding. My wife also loved her pulled pork sandwich. (I would have rated them a 5*, but the beers were not cold and somewhat pricey. I absolutely love this place. We stopped by on a rainy day recently to grab a bite to eat. The outside and inside are always very clean and well maintained. I really like the wash sink that is not in the bathroom. I think it is great to be able to wash your hands before or after a meal without having to go to the bathroom. The employees taking the orders are pleasant and attentive. They carefully repeat the order to ensure accuracy. They bring your food to your table and ask again about sauces. Both of the kids got chicken tenders and fries. There is a good amount of food in the baskets. The kids can never finish all the fries. I got zucchini fries and they were delicious. The kids said the tenders were amazing. The homemade sauces really kick the food up a notch! My favorite is the ranch! Avoid going less than an hour before close. My tenders were cold and my fries were barley filling the container. Milkshake was clogged with uncrushed Oreo pieces. They are well-seasoned, succulent, and a great size. They come in a basket with fries. The fries were very crunchy and I felt they could have added more for the price, but overall I loved them too. I have ate at PDQ more than any other restaurant in Gainesville and I LOVE IT. I have had the nuggets, strips, sandwiches, salads, and fries. I love it all. The nuggets are plump and large chunks of white meat. They taste so good. The fries are hot and taste like fair fries! The sandwiches are on a toasted butter bun, with fresh veggies, and a nice hot chicken sandwich either fried or grilled. The place is really nice. They have cornhole or bags boards when you are walking up. Inside you can sit either inside at the bar or at a table. They have the amazing coke machines that make like 50 different flavors. These are amazing and taste sooooo goood. I have heard the milkshakes are really good but have not had them myself. The sauce I like the most is creamy garlic! I had no expectations but was amazed at this place! I ordered the tenders meal with fries and they were ON... mMm ... POINT! Good and crispy but not too much breading. The sauces complimented the tenders (and fries) really well. I will try their sandwiches next time but they've stolen my heart with the fried tenders. Only thing I didnt enjoy very much was the blueberry coleslaw. I was looking forward to it since it was a twist but it fell way off my hopes. It tasted as if it were only cabbage. No seasoning and bland blueberries that werent either sweet or tart. Only good thing was they didnt use globs of mayonnaise like other places. I suppose it's really just a more fattening side salad. Since hearing about PDQ replacing Grandy's longstanding spot at the corner of 34th/Newberry I had been skeptical, mainly because of the limited menu focusing on chicken (although they do have a couple turkey options). I kinda felt like the Zaxby's scattered around the area already had the chicken focused menu cornered. After eating here a few times I'm largely happy with what I've tried. The most important thing they needed to nail for a chicken focused menu was to have good chicken, and that they do have. The tenders and the sauce selection are really good. I'll be coming back just for the tenders if nothing else. The chicken sandwich and salads are also a step above Zaxby's in terms of flavor and quality. The sides leave something to be desired though. The fries as other reviews have pointed out are limp and soggy. Besides the fries your only other choices are coleslaw with blueberries and some apple slices with toffee dip. I wish they had a side item that matched the quality of their chicken but they don't. Considering this is a franchise I doubt they'll be quick to even think about adding items. The service has been quick, even when it's been busy during opening. They have a guy using a mic to let you know when your food is ready. The interior looks nice but when walking around I felt like I was having to squeeze around people eating to get to where I needed to go. To sum things up, Gainesville now has another place serving chicken...at least the chicken is pretty tasty. read more

Ok so I thought great we have another chicken place in town. We have KFC, Zaxby's, and many other places that serve chicken strips. Its not really my go to food of choice when eating out. But we decided to try PDQ. Its been open for a while now, and I really haven't heard anything good or bad, and we were in the area we decided to try them. First impression was lots of parking, which is a good thing. Walking in the door the place is big and bright with a nice decor. Very nice layout. The menu is limited, salads, shakes and chicken strips either by themselves or on a sandwich. I opted for the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was very yummy. The thing that made the sandwich was their buffalo sauce (very franks redhot style) their blue cheese sauce they put on. Great recipe for the sauce with a great flavor combination. This is one of my favorite buffalo chicken sandwiches now in Gainesville. We did get a chocolate shake. Waaaayyy to sweet for me. Not sure why or how they get it that sweet, but damn. The fries were a little on the soggy side. Wish they were crispier All in all we had a great experience. We will go here again. I went to PDQ 2 weeks ago for the second time ever and was highly impressed. Walking in, I was immediately treated by the woman on the register. All of my questions were answered, and I was also given suggestions based on what I enjoy. I ordered a 4-piece chicken tender meal. I barely even had time to sit down before my food was brought out to me steaming hot. I enjoyed the sauces I chose and felt that they added a great deal to my crispy chicken tenders. I just want to warn other parents that my son just bit into his french fries and spit them out and this piece of metal was inside of them. He is only four years old, thank God that he actually spit out the bite of food with metal inside of it. If he would've actually swallowed this piece of metal it is so sharp it would have injured his insides very badly. I can only imagine how bad this could have turned out, him saying he had a tummy ache and me not even thinking this metal inside of him could be a possibility. I am very worried that there could have been multiple pieces and this is the only one that he spit out. Tl;dr food & overall experience is not worth the price I've been to PDQ a few times and have tried various things on the menu; tenders, shakes, sandwiches, sides. However, my experience is always sub-par and continues to decrease with each visit. My first time at PDQ was wonderful, though the food was very pricey. Every time since I've had a worse experience, making the food not seem worth it. Today I went and ordered their burger with pimento cheese and zucchini fries (which is INCREDIBLE). However, their system was down (understandable) and they couldn't accept card. The employee taking my order was very irritable and was very snippy with me, and another employee next to her made a very snide remark about another employee very audibly in front of me. The pimento sandwich was great as always, but the zucchini fries were soggy, overly greasy, and some even tasted as if they had mold on it. Even my sweet tea tasted off, as if it had been left out too long. Overall I'm very disappointed in my recent experiences with PDQ and even though their food is usually good, the price and lack of service quality is discouraging me from returning anymore. read more
