This was a really good experience. I've wanted to try this place for a while, and I was not disappointed. I teetered between 4 and 5 stars, it's just a regular Korean BBQ place and they were a tad slow at cleaning tables, but it was great food so it gets 5 stars today. We only talked to one person for a brief moment but he was really nice. I ordered the spicy garlic pork bowl and iced coffee and my boyfriend ordered the crispy chicken bowl. I actually really preferred his bowl, although I did have to sauce the chicken because the breading is really bland. I'm sure that's the point, since they have some great sauces, and the crispy chicken was great with their signature sauce and the sesame sauce. Yummo!! The coffee was great, very much like a Vietnamese coffee, sweet and luscious. The spicy garlic pork was really good, but the bowl really needed some texture. The quick cooked zucchini and broccoli do add a little crunch, but there's not enough of them to provide different textures. My bowl had three tiny pieces of broccoli, so maybe if there was more of the veggies, or some green cabbage. When you're ordering, there's no way to request extra veg. Overall, the bowls were good, the veg was fresh, the sauces were excellent. The bowls have great flavor and still manage to feel healthy and filling. We'll be back, for sure!

We're thrilled to have found this spot, especially since it's now a favorite for me & my Korean husband - we celebrated Mother's Day here over dinner and the food was fantastic. But the real highlight was the exceptional service, particularly from Harrison, an employee whose dedication stood out. Even during slower periods, he remained proactive, taking care of to-go orders, refilling supplies, and ensuring everything was spotless. His hard work didn't go unnoticed, and I sincerely hope he receives the recognition he deserves.

Came here first time. So food is below average for me. The rice was mushy and overcooked, whole bowl was just dry, and I paid 4.75 for this drink and why isn't it filled up. It literally looks like they poured some out. If I'm paying almost 5$ for a drink please don't be cheap with it. I will never be returning unfortunately, website made the food look great, but very dry overall.

This place is very delicious. A little pricey but I justify that by making my meal last at least 3 days because the portions are large. I've noticed a quality difference between eating in and taking out. *much better to eat in. The Bulgogi Bowl is my go to and I highly recommend. It's card only, no cash and there is no phone to call and place an order which is a little inconvenient but not the end of the world.

I ordered this on delivery, so can't comment on the vibes in person. But this was so good! I ordered the rice bowl with bulgogi beef and the seaweed japchae rolls. The bowl was a pretty good sized portion, and the beef was a great texture - not chewy, nicely tender, and with great flavor. The japchae rolls were nice and crunchy, and the sauce on the side really added to the flavor. I'm looking forward to trying more items from Burning Rice soon.

I loved the plate! It was delicious with flavor and had me full without the discomfort! Will go back again soon!

    Bimbimbap.

The bimbimbap was so authentic and the best I've had in awhile. No place like this in San Antonio so I had to try it since I was in Dallas area. Not very busy when I went so service was very quick. The place was very nice and well kept. If you don't know what Bimbimbap is you should just try it if you like Korean food. Highly recommend this place!

Adventure for a lunch. An interesting experience of environment, ordering, interacting, and presentation of the food. A few screens to place your order that allows you to scroll down to see what might be next. A lot of options and may not know what you will get if you have not experienced the restaurant. We both ordered the hot Bibimop bowls. My sponsor ordered the Shrimp as protein. I had the chicken and pork. The cast iron bowls kept the food very hot. There were 5 or 6 sauces to choose. It was a fun experience. We did not need the double protein in our order. We had plenty of left over take home. Add the sauces to direct the flavor you desire. My sponsor said she would like to return for another adventure.

Basically, it tasted as if the owner is in the back running the line because his cooks left him hanging. Crappily marinated, improperly cooked meat is what we got. Who ever was on the sides and banchan were on it though. They need a raise. Also, clean your restaurant and pick a theme man. Sidenote, having the server come out to tell us without coming out yourself is lame. They apologized many times to say sorry, the owner is in the back and told me to tell you such and such: "You just don't like "our" food. It's supposed to be like that." No, pretty sure it isn't. Your marinade for your meat is not good. The star goes toward your pantry cook. The banchan was not bad, weird lineup but not bad. Why no japchaee, or radish kimchi? Also, that much mayo on steamed broccoli def wasn't my favorite. They really tried to convince us that this is how it's supposed to taste, "What do you mean it tastes sour?" I mean, your marinade has too much vinegar in it. It tastes bad. "What exactly is wrong with the galbi?" It sat in the marinade too long, the meat taste grainy- because of the pear in the marinade- or pineapple juice to each their own. It can basically cook the meat before the meat hits the pan if you leave it in there too long. You would notice this stuff during the plating process- presentations good. But if the foods bad, it's bad no matter how pretty you make it look. We paid the full bill, didn't touch the meat. Pancake was good. Gave 10% to the server, because it wasn't her fault but she didn't help the situation. Forgot to mention as well: a lady and her kids at the table next to us got her meal discounted because of the food. When I asked if it is usually better she said, yes so much better. I'm not sure who is back there but it isn't the normal cook. It's pretty bad tonight. Maybe it was a one off, like everyone has but... the idea that you can try to convince customers that maybe they're wrong and just don't know how Korean food should taste surely did leave a bad taste for us.

Alright now, this place is a gem!…read more I work with someone who raves about this place, and I finally decided to try it. Walking in, the young lady at the register was so sweet and pleasant. I had an online order and arrived a bit early, she politely let me know there would be a little wait, and I did not mind. I would, much rather wait, than walk in twenty minutes early to see my food just sitting there. It is a small space, but one that comes with warmth. What I chose: Mixed Plate Teriyaki Beef - The first bite, YES! The meat was seasoned so well, I was afraid the teriyaki sauce would overtake the flavor; it didn't. Both, the sauce and the seasoning complemented each other very well. The beef was thinly sliced and free of fat. I can't stand enjoying a bite, and out of nowhere, boom, a piece of fat. I'm not a beef person, but I'm so happy I tried something different. Hamburger Steak: I couldn't wait to try this, it's delicious! The patty is plenty and well seasoned; it isn't heavily seasoned, but well seasoned. It was juicy and not dried out, which sometimes happens. The gravy was perfect, and went perfectly with the meat patty. Next time, I will ask for more gravy and onions. I love grilled onions with meat patties. With my order, I asked for steamed veggies, but received rice instead. I don't eat rice often, but this is the one time I was happy with the mishap. I had a small bit with the gravy and patty, delicious!! Sides: Mac Salad and Rice - I didn't order rice; instead, it should have been steamed veggies. As I said above, the rice ended up being a great mishap; it was perfect with my meat patty and gravy. The mac salad, sadly, I didn't like. It wasn't horrible, it just didn't hit the right taste buds. Chocolate Mac Nut Cheesecake: I only tasted a spoonful of this, but it was good. I wouldn't get it again, for me, it was too sweet. They do have another cheesecake, which looks like a plain cheesecake, with a sauce on top. That, I will try. Spam Musubi: There seems to be more rice than what I am used to, so I cut it in half, and it made for the perfect bite. This was more than enough food; I have plenty to take to work for lunch and will have more to enjoy for dinner. I am so happy I visited. I will definitely visit periodically for a hamburger steak, and I am anxious to try their panko shrimp. Add them to your list, it is a must!!

However, the food was not up to my expectation. My friend and I ordered Banh Khot with pork and Toasted Crab Bread for starters. She got a shaken beef and I got Bun Bo Hue. Then, we had pandan waffle for dessert (Note: it was 8pm or so and they ran out most of the items we wanted to order. We wanted the matcha beignets, but the server told us they basically ran out of pastries and cakes). Here are my thoughts: *Starters* - Banh Khot 2.5/5 I'll be honest - I don't know what to expect from this. I don't know what I am tasting. It could be because I didn't grow up with this. I could taste every single ingredients except pork, but not as a whole. I don't know how to feel about this. - Toasted Crab Bread 3.75/5 It's one of the better ones among all the dishes we ordered. It was pretty good for the first one, but then the more I had, it became saltier. *Entree* - Bun Bo Hue 3/5 I am genuinely disappointed with this one. I love Bun Bo Hue and they served this with hot stone bowl. It was impressive by looking at the spread but there was too much broth that I couldn't fit in all the ingredients I was given. I was given a lot of protein, which is great. But this dish turned out to be on the sweeter side than spicy, which is not what I was expecting. :( - Shaken Beef (I only had a couple beef from my friend's plate lol) 3/5 I can taste the amount of MSG in the sauce. *Dessert* - Pandan Waffle 2.5/5 I am genuinely disappointed with this one. It had this weird aftertaste and there wasn't much pandan flavor either. Ice cream is great tho! I felt like the servers who served us were trying to compete who's the better one. Maybe a little overattentive!? Believe me, I don't say this lightly. I can feel the energy from the two servers who served us. Anyways, I don't think I'll come back. The food is not up to my par. This restaurant truly has a lot of potential, but until they work on the quality of the food, I am not coming back.
