I was in the restaurant yesterday afternoon, and when I walked in, the first thing I saw , was an Asian man , skinny and wearing glasses, putting what seemed to be a paper towel up his nose, by the food line. It didn't appear like he had any shame in what he was doing, and he DID NOT wash his hands ,when he went to the food line, getting an order together. This is very disturbing and unsanitary!!! Wow! Love the ambiance, quality food and the service. Everyone was very friendly & accommodating. I was not a fan of Korean food, but this place changed that for ever. They include salad & soup bar with beet sweet orange slices. I came in only 45 minutes before they closed at 10 pm, but they didn't rush me, nor treat me as if I was a trouble. I really enjoyed my experience here. I am pretty new to Korean cuisine and bulgogi seemed like a good place to start. First off, the place was clean and welcoming. We were greeted upon entry and given a brief run down of ordering procedures. I ordered the spicy bulgogi bowl with all the veg and a fried egg. They have a lovely condiment bar that also has soup. The combination was fantastic. A bit of rice with spicy meat, veg, and a perfectly cooked egg. It was delicious and filling. I do wish I would have gotten the hot stone bowl, as they say it gives the rice a crispy texture on the bottom. I can only see that as a good thing. The ingredients were fresh, the people were friendly, and it was more than enough for lunch. This is a great addition to the Hurst area and I hope they open some more locations. read more

Another great spot for bibimbap in the Hurst area! This location is new and spacious with lots of seating. It was my first time patronizing a Burning Rice and I love the concept: 1. Choose your bowl 2. Choose your rice 3. Choose your meat or tofu 4. Choose your veggies/toppings. Pay at the counter and they'll bring your food out to you. Great for an in and out lunch spot. Soups (seaweed and miso) and salad are included with your meal and drinks are self serve. Gochujang and other sauces are located at the salad bar. I love bibimbap and the hot stone bowl is the only way to go. Even if you don't like crispy rice, the stone bowl keeps the dish piping hot which I love. I got the regular bulgogi with steam rice and all the toppings. Once mixed together and with the sauces added, it was perfection. The meat had a nice flavor and all the toppings were individually well prepared. The portion was just right to me as I left there feeling satisfied. Definitely can't wait to come back! read more

Heard about this place from a friend and had to try it out for myself. I was not disappointed. The food was absolutely amazing. It's nice too because if you're craving Korean food, now you don't have to drive as far to the Carrollton area for good Korean food. I got the hot stone bowl while my friend got the regular bowl. The hot stone bowl keeps your food hot for basically the whole meal. It's a great thing, but for me, it was a bit too hot to even eat for awhile in the beginning. I had to wait awhile for the food to cool down so I could eat it but nonetheless, it was delicious. Next time, I'd probably get the regular bowl though. But the experience was cool. I ordered all veggies on mine and it was absolutely amazing. I also added an egg on top and that completed the bowl perfectly. The portion was more than enough to fill me too. I had another whole meal left over and had to take it to go. They also have unlimited salad and soup, which was awesome. Definitely recommend this place! This place used to be everything you would want in a Korean quick serve restaurant. Plenty of options for the bowls and good prices. The corporate office must have decided to squeeze some more money out of the operation by ELIMINATING the hot stone bowls, most protein options and all the egg options. If you know me at all from my reviews I'm a sucker for some tacos, and delicious Korean food. That being said. This place did not disappoint. I've said before and I'll say it again, I visited South Korea last summer...and this food was a pretty decent Korean Chipotle! (Stole that from the lady helping us). The food was pretty da bomb.com! The meats were very well marinated and seasoned, portions of the rice bowls were large and well worth the price, and when you order your meal there's a complimentary soup and salad bar (nothing crazy) but still a delicious treat to your meal! The staff was super friendly, answered all questions, and hooked me up with extra kimchi when I annoyingly asked for more. I want to go back and try another 4 meats on the menu...so please Burning Rice, just take all my money. I had my first visit to this restaurant yesterday afternoon. The dining room was open, and they also offer takeout and delivery. I ordered the hot stone bowl with rice, vegetables, and beef with a sunny side up egg on top and the chile paste sauce. It was beautifully presented, extremely hot, and very tasty. Due to COVID 19, there are no seasonings, salt or pepper, or hot sauce on the table. The beverage fountain was open and available for refills of Coca Cola products. Due to the lack of soup and salad bar, the appearance of the interior was very sterile and rather uninviting, but that's not the restaurant's fault. All in all, the food was pretty good - but bring your own salt and pepper! read more

It was slow when I first walked in but the lunch crowd began arriving shortly after I arrived. The staff is exceptionally helpful with explaining the menu. I order a regular bowl with the spicy chicken and veggie rice (fried) I added almost every topping to my bowl too. While I waited for my lunch I helped my self to a cup of miso soup and a small side salad. The sesame dressing is very good! My food came out quickly and was hot and fresh! Burning Rice has gone from one of my best restaurants to one of the worst. They recently dumbed down the menu to plain vegetables with little to no spices. I remember for togo they used to give extra containers so you'd be able to take some soup or salad home with your meal. It even had a plastic taste to it which wasnt very pleasant at all. Also, my boyfriend just wanted carrots and bean sprouts. I would expect they give him a bit more since he didnt even get an egg. It is the same price if you got all the toppings or none of the toppings, so we just expected a bit more carrots and bean sprouts being the only toppings there. So he wasnt happy about his food at all. This is our first time coming to this restaurant. It was so disappointing because I enjoyed my meal so much that it was painful to watch him eat his terribly dry plasticy chicken. Clean, good music, great smells, soup and salad bar with meal, fountain drinks(coke products but also Dr Pepper). Quick service, quick table side delivery, they come and bus the table after you're done. They have some Korean drinks as well available for purchase. The garlic pork was super flavorful and tasty. The bean sprouts were huge and there was a bit too much nori for my liking but I'll just opt to not get that the next time. I really actually enjoyed this place and I'm happy we finally stopped in. I have been so close to this place for so long without even realizing it, but now that I know where it is and have tried it, I can't wait to go back again! I went with a friend and we both really enjoyed what we got. It's a build-your-own-bowl place, so we got our own preferred add-ons. I got the spicy chicken (it's not super spicy but enough to get a little kick of heat in each bite) and some vegetables and an egg with it. Very good meal overall. Wow! This place was absolutely out of my comfort zone, but so glad I tried it out! I was afraid they would only have spicy options, but to my surprise they have everything in a non spicy version. I got 3 bowls for the family and the Korean short ribs were the favorite but the crispy pork was also very good! The shrimp were a great size. The potato noodles were so good! I wish there was an option for extra or a side of just the noodles. We ordered off Yelp for pick up, so there may be that option at the store. Only complaint would be that we didn't nearly enough soy sauce. The small bowl was filling, but the large bowl would definitely be the one to get if you have a large appetite. Even with ordering on the computer they screwed up the order! I asked for a very well done egg & it came out barely cooked at all. Gross! I have to have my eggs cooked hard or I can't even eat them. When the girl brought the food I stated that the egg was supposed to be well done... once again I got the blank stare like I was an idiot. 1 entire minute she stared at me & I finally said never mind & grabbed a spoon & pulled it off of the bibimbop.
