My work colleagues insisted I go here on a day I wasn't even going to take lunch. They basically dragged me. I am SO glad they did. Not only is the owner and front of house an awesome guy that keeps you smiling, he also made a big effort to direct us to some great choices based on our tastes. I cannot tell you how much I like their chilli crunch. Sooooo good. I've had so many and theirs is definitely my favorite. It is spicy so be careful. Alllll of the food was incredible. Let's get it out of the way: service is wonderful, the owner tries his best with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly personality and offering us water to-go, but that's where it ends. In terms of food quality, I'm not sure where most of the reviewers are coming from. Granted, it's not the worst items I've ever tried, but it's certainly not authentic ramen noodles (I would check out Hanabi Ramen, Hakata Ramen & Wabi House for something better). Sushi & Takoyaki could've also been better (Check Kura Sushi or Mister Max) and based on the environment of the restaurant it certainly doesn't feel "Japanese". It's a restaurant I feel like "new" ramen lovers go to, a place where people who don't know where to start would try ramen and sushi here. My conclusion; food was at best, tolerable and bland, but still good enough to finish the meals rather than wasting. While I am critical of the food and it's not a first choice, I applaud the owner for his humor and interaction with customers. I had the sweet-and-sour sauce with the eggrolls, which were crispy by the way and the dumplings. That was a spectacular sweet-and-sour sauce. The restaurant has a great ambience as well. This is my third review. Prior reviews were 5 stars each. I really loved this place but my last experience really soured my feelings about it. It was about a week before Christmas and I had family in town. I decided to take them here because of how much I loved it. As soon as we walked in I could tell they were busy. We sat down and although the owner kept coming over to say he'd be right with us and took our drink order, it took 40 minutes to get waters. We should have left then but didn't. 1.5 hours in and we had our appetizer. Another .5 hour to get our sushi rolls. I've never seen it this busy and was willing to give him some grace until the owner came over to speak with us. He said it had been that busy for the last two months or so. And that just pissed me off because I felt like he was okay letting his customers wait so that he doesn't have to hire more staff. He apologized profusely but didn't comp a thing. I apologized to my family for the terrible experience and just felt really let down by this restaurant. I understand that things happen, but this seemed completely avoidable. I haven't been back there since then. So if you walk in and almost every table is full, I'd just save myself the misery and leave. read more

Bamboo House is an unassuming place tucked in a strip mall on Highway 121. Once inside, the place is very nice with comfortable tables or side booths. The food is the star! The menu has quite a variety of sushi (made right in front of you at the counter) poke, ramen bowls, fried rice, noodle dishes, appetizers and more. It is also BYOB. We started our meal with potstickers which had a light handmade dough and a delicious filling. These were lightly fried, crispy, and very flavorful. We split the plate of 6, and could have eaten more. I ordered chicken fried rice and my husband ordered chicken pad thai. Both dishes were excellent. The chicken was so tender and melt in your mouth. The rice had fresh chopped veggies as well as the traditional egg. The pad Thai was very good and came with crushed peanuts and red pepper on the side so you could add what you wanted. We both enjoyed our food. Next time we will be more adventurous and try the sushi which looked beautiful and the ramen bowls. The owner/head waiter Andre is very friendly and funny and was attentive. As others have said food is OK, but great service. Another issue is how much they charge for what you get. The Ramen is small and almost taste like instant. I know it should not be because the color of the noodles looks like real ramen. I think I'll have to just keep going to Arlington for my Ramen or just get Pho. After a long flight, I was craving some classic Chinese food. I came here with a friend and we tried the miso soup, egg drop soup, veggie and shrimp lo mein. All the items had good flavor. The noodles especially had the perfect sauce level that makes you go in for another bite. One issue was that the shrimps were over cooked, so they had a bit of a rubbery texture.
