Very rude woman working here. There's hardly any parking. Due to construction there's no parking on the street. We pulled in and parked facing another car lining the railing. As we got out, this dark haired lady runs out of the business, and we were yelled at in front of everybody outside, to move our car. She said we can park in the construction zone (no, you cannot. I advise not telling your customers that.). And yet, the other car lining the railing was able to stay parked there- even when their car blocked another parked car on the fence line. There are NO signs saying you can't park there. You should get some if you so strongly don't allow parked cars outside your business. The group I came with decided not to do business here as that isn't the atmosphere we were looking for. I suggest keeping her away from a customer service forward role. This hidden gem is my favorite brewery in the San Diego area. The burgers are amazing. They are all double smashed patties oozing with cheese and all sorts of deliciousness. I would go here just for burgers! The specials are also super yummy, they had a "Grilled cheese burger" which took me straight to flavor town! The beer here is consistently great. No hangover, no bad brews, always delicious. Great ac in the tasting room, nice spacious back room and chill patio situation. I also like that I can bring my baby here, and it's chill. read more

BBB is brewery visit #173 for me. BBB was one of the breweries I wanted to hit awhile back while down visiting family. This was my chance though. I loved the paintings out front and the punk rock vibe was cool. Although I still think real punk died with Sid Vicious. I said what I said, fight me... Lieber Augustine is Vienna lager with nice toasty caramel flavors. Not light exactly but easy drinking and flavorful. SWPFTD went with Hammer of the Malts, a festbier which is always a preferred style. A very good example of a festbier. Panic at the Nunnery is a Belgian tripel with a nice sweet sour note to it. The Brainbox Pollution is a hazy DIPA with a very good citrusy note to it. Not overpoweringly hoppy by any means. Dankness Visible IPA was up next. As soon as the word "dank" is used it makes me think of weed, and that's probably the goal. But once I associate the smell/taste of good with weed that's all I can taste. The association is not surprising considering they are both part of the Cannabaceae Family. This was a really good IPA regardless. Postmodern Prometheus is aged in whisky barrels. It didn't specify whether it's a porter or stout but it seemed to fit as a porter for me. There wasn't much to taste beyond the whisky barrels, which wasn't a bad thing. This was a very good beer. I do love beers aged in whisky barrels. Abs yes, I know they are undoubtedly bourbon barrels but I use the Scottish spelling for whisky. BBB is well worth a stop. The beer is good abs although we only had fries, those were good too. Went here today as a random selection after completing a hike at nearby Cowles Mountain. Location was clean and well kept. Ordering at the counter we were patiently taken care of as we selected a flight of beer. The flight was enough beer to share at lunch. Beers selection was great, something for everyone. We got sandwiches which were awesome, loaded fries with onions, cheese, pickles and buffalo sauce- yum. so this is the kind of place for a certain kind of dude, and i am that dude - if you listen to white zombie and like beer with wizards on it and light things on fire on occasion, this is the spot. if you have a shirt with little ducks on it and your skin care routine is really elaborate, maybe less so. the burgers have a "everyone be quiet and let me focus on eating this" kind of quality, which is exactly the right quality to have. the beer selection is extensive and exotic, at least to me, which is just what you'd want. the service is very helpful but not ass-kissy, which is just right for me, but maybe not right for you. indoor, outdoor, and semi-outdoor seating options so you can really dial that right in. read more

Let me just tell you, boss, if you're reading this, you are lucky tonight because I'd have made a scene had you not ended your shift. If you had been even remotely professional, I would have absolutely accommodated you. I did anyways. They're my kids and they're my responsibility. With all the delicious beers available in San Diego, a lot of times, for me, it comes down to customer service. And more often than not, this place absolutely SUCKS in that department. Trust me, I wanted to like this place. I live two miles away and would love nothing more than to have a home brewery so close. But that's not happening. I have never felt so unwelcome at any other brewery, and I frequent breweries a lot. My first time there, it felt like I interrupted a private dungeons and dragons session. Or like the Star Wars scene in the Mos Eisley cantina. The beertender was huddled up talking to a group of people on the customer side of the bar. When we walked in they all looked at us like we were aliens. Amazingly, the employee just looked back down and carried on with the conversation. Shortly after, he begrudgingly walked back to the tap area and took our order. We grabbed our drinks and sat at a table. The bartender then hurried back to his circle of friends. Maybe it was his turn to roll the dice or something.... Had two other occasions where another employee was just flat out rude, and another where the short-haired girl angrily threw a surgical mask down on the bar when I walked in without one. (I'd been unmasked in other breweries around the same time, and all of them were gracious and apologetic about having to ask me to put one on, and I did, no problem).
