Before…read morestarting to work out at this fitness studio, you are required to complete a movement assessment and evaluation where Immie and Greg can see where you are starting from, access any limitations and deficiencies and plan how to correct the deficiencies and overcome any limitations. While I was enrolled in Small Group Training, my experience was more like working with a Personal Trainer. From TRX, to Weight LIfting, to Kettlebells and Medicine Balls and a myriad of different training modalities, you were sure to get Strong and Fit at Exsurgo. Immie Cross, an Elite Spartan Racer, a Les Mills International Trainer and Instructor, is such a caring and compassionate trainer. Whether you want to train for an Obstacle Course Race, or just improve your overall health, this is a great place to train with personalized attention that you cannot get at every gym. The community built there is so welcoming and supportive!

She started working with Greg in late fall, and in the few months since she's been training with him, her entire brain space and outlook, as well as her athletic capability, has changed. She's faster, she's stronger, and she's able to do things better than she could before she hurt herself. She feels capable and confident in her sport now. Greg treats her with respect, and courtesy, while not letting her slack off. He's not only trained her, he's taught her HOW to train. How to lift, how to move, how to recover. The foundation my kid now has is incomparable, and her outlook on herself has improved, thanks to Greg.

Neutral, Informational Review…read more I want to share my experience so future members know what to expect. The gym facilities themselves are fine, but I found the membership process and information provided at sign-up to be unclear. I did my best to get all of my questions answered upon signing up and trying to cancel. I'm still working on that right now. There is an annual $88 amenities fee, and memberships here are contract-based. There isn't a month-to-month option. If you want an unlimited guest pass, that comes at an additional cost. The gym also uses a tier system that affects which locations you can access. I wasn't made aware of these details until I tried to cancel right now. When I tried to ask questions or make changes to my account, I often had difficulty getting clear answers. It made handling membership matters more stressful than it needed to be. This is your basic experience of what everyone says "why do gyms make it impossible to cancel" this is one of those gyms. I'm sharing this so others can go in fully informed and ask the right questions before signing. Transparency at the beginning would make the experience much smoother for everyone.

This is the only one life location I have come to that staff refuses to acknowledge you. I pay over $50 a month the least that the employees could do is provide the most basic level of customer service why am I not even getting smiled at? I was reply to by the business owner advising me that they would talk to their staff and yet I've seen zero changes and today I went as far as even asking the front desk, lady, why is she refuses to speak to me and she just stood there looking at me, dumbfounded, looking around for somebody to save her I said to her you know you are the only one life location that I come to that refuses to speak to anybody walking into the gym she looked at me like a deer in headlights. Her name is DIANE. train your staff to speak to people. It is literally the bare minimum that your staff should be doing a good morning. Have a good day goes a long way. This is bare minimum customer service. If I did not have to come to this location I would never step foot into this gym, but I refuse to drive 40 minutes every day to Manassas where they actually have trained staff that actually acknowledges their customers and isn't actually 200 times better gym, but I'm stuck here. It would be fucking nice to be greeted. I hate this location. Still being ignored walking into facility :) 11/19 And it's always the same employee. Very clear management could care less. No better location than Manassas and Fort Totten in DC. I recently moved to Herndon so I've been having to try to go to a gym. That's much closer to my house instead of driving for 35 minutes to Manassas and honestly I don't care how petty this makes me customer service should still be at the forefront of all of your businesses. There should be no reason why I'm walking into your establishment early in the morning where I can't even be told, Good morning I just get ignored because your front desk staff is just sitting on their phone , but let their friends come into the building and then they're all attentive and chatting and friendly but if you're not one of their friends, you're not gonna get spoken to I don't appreciate that whatsoever. Customer service is a huge deal to me if it's not obvious from my reviews. Not to mention that this location is huge, but it is completely laid out incorrectly. I'm not really sure why they need for a whole physical therapy office in this gym. If so much space and all the equipment is so freaking close to each other. You don't have any privacy when working out you don't even have personal space forget privacy because you're at a public gym but there is NO PERSONAL SPACE. You can barely even walk through machines you have to completely go around.

I can't think of any other fitness opportunity that has the same value proposition while also the opportunity to laugh, make lifelong friends, and change one's body and mind. Tom and Brooke, the instructors, are incredible motivators, and often workout alongside clients for the duration of the class. I like that everyone is in it together, and it's not about how quickly you can complete the workout, or just rushing through sets to get out of there. The community aspect is really important as well, and one of my favorite holiday traditions at Sarge is our "Angel Tree" over the holidays, where we can choose to "adopt" local kids and make their holiday gift needs and wants a reality.

I can workout in-person, virtually (if I'm traveling), or watch the video from that day when it's more convenient. The studio is locally-owned and operated by the owner, Tom, which makes this a community for folks who want to stay/get fit but aren't motivated by gym equipment. Tom is there teaching class EVERY morning at 6am, making the routines dynamic and interesting, creating fun games to change it up, and understanding everyone's individual needs. I've been coming here for years and I don't see that changing!
