Been a member for about 2 years now. I joined because I wanted to get a bit more cut. Didnt quite reach that goal (not their fault, I really like cookies and beer ), but I would definitely recommend. Each trainer has their own style, so you get a bit of variety. Training ranges from ladder drills, weight training, calisthenics, and those damn burpees (yes I'm aware those are also calisthenics, but I classify them separately due to being pure evil). Multiple times are available, so early risers, lunch breakers, or those looking for a post work workout can all get in where they fit in. Go give them a try! read more

This is a great place with great people. I like the encouragement you get from everyone there from employees to others working out.

I have had such a positive experience with Fitness Edge. I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. Upon my first visit, everyone was welcoming, this is including the instructors & other members I love how flexible hourly classes are offered daily. Even with people (both men & women) at varying fitness levels in the class, instructors remained attentive & provided guidance when needed. They also have a great sense of community, providing members opportunities to also have a social aspect to being a member & making new friendship. Highly recommend to anyone looking to join a local, more community style gym! read more

After having my son- I really wanted to get back to myself again. I hated the gym because I always felt so intimidated and self conscious and judged. I was starting all over again. I found Fitnees Edge and took advantage of their free week. This gym and the people are amazing. I didn't feel judged at all. It's def a sense of family when you come here. I wasn't rushed to lift heavier than I could or pushed to do workouts I know I couldn't. I was taught how to properly workout. I'm def strong than I was even before pregnancy and more confident! I'm def on a great postpartum fitness journey! Thank you FE and FE family! read more

Thank you so much for the great experience! I really appreciate how we dive straight into the workout--it's challenging but manageable, especially with the alternative movements you offer for different fitness levels. The atmosphere is motivating, and it's clear you're passionate about what you do. The fresh air in the room, the cleanliness of the bathroom, and the ample parking are all big pluses that make the overall experience even better! Thank you Tungi read more

Fitness Edge MD - https://fitnessedge.fit/ Monday leg day - Trainers Near Me - Derwood, Maryland

Definitely 5 star worthy and I only came for a consult! A little hard to find as GPS stops you at the top of the shopping center but just drive down until you see a basketball hoop/fence and it will be on your right hand side. I made an appointment for a consultation with Tungi for 7pm on a Monday evening. I was very nervous as I haven't been as physically active as I would like to be. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed with open arms, literally! And a huge smile! Tungi is super nice and has a very kind vibe to him. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. There was a class going on so I got to see a little bit of the action. He had me sign a waiver and then we got to chatting about what I was essentially looking for. Before I knew it he had me doing planks and running up and down the stairs lol I totally wasn't prepared but I loved it! He is a great motivator and even when I thought I was on my VERY last rep and couldn't possibly take another one he would try to compromise and make me do just a few more and I managed to push through it no problem! I had an awesome experience at Fitness Edge and look forward to booking another personal training session with Tungi or one of his fellow associates! I hope I'm ready! read more

Fitness Edge offers a welcoming, energetic, and fun environment where you can enjoy an effective workout during their classes. The community members and the owner have created a unique space where you can be surrounded by supportive people all working towards their health goals. read more

I've been a member here for five years now and I love it. The owner, Tungi, knows everyone who goes to his gym and will give you a big hug to greet you when he sees you. He also throws potluck parties for holidays and holds the "Fitness Edge Games" where teams compete for bragging rights :) I've been going regularly to the 6am class for years now. And what you get here that you don't get anywhere else is that sense of community and familiarity. I know the names of just about everyone in my class. When I sleep in and skip class for a few days, people wonder where I am. The trainer knows me and my abilities so she knows when I'm slacking and will hand me heavier weights. If I have an injury, she gives me modifications to the exercises. We do solo work, partner work and group work. Every day is something different. I had never picked up a barbell before I started coming here (who knew they were 45lbs!?!). Now I use one a few times a week and feel comfortable with using it. But don't be intimidated by that--this gym has people of all experience levels and fitness levels. I'm the type of person that doesn't want to have to think when I go to the gym. Here, I just show up and get told what to do. That also means I can't avoid exercises I don't like (*cough* bear crawls *cough*), so I will be well-rounded. I am always dripping with sweat by the time I leave. I also don't have to sign up for classes in advance, nor am I limited to one class per day or a certain number of classes per week. No cons unless you come here expecting a traditional LA Fitness/Gold's Gym-type of place. You won't be able to come here and just put in headphones and run on a treadmill. But that's what I like. This gym isn't a lonely experience. We cheer each other on and support each other and want to see each other do well and hit fitness milestones (a whole group of us in 6am want to get/improve our pull ups and so do a few together at the end of every class. I couldn't hold myself up on the rig for 10 seconds when I first started here and now I am so close to finally getting my first pull up!). As long as you can make one of the class times work for your schedule, you'll get a good workout and get a good mix of cardio and strength training. read more

Fitness Edge is the best!!! I have to admit that I never truly work out before through my whole life. The first day I joined the gym was a full body workout and I was literally "dead" when I got home!! Lol All the trainers are so patient and always take care of me and make sure I don't injure myself in every session! I love the vibe and everyone here!! Sometimes, Tungi, the owner of the gym, holds special sessions for gym members to check if your pose is correct or invite radiologist coming in to give us a talk and check our artery! Joining Fitness Edge changed my life and made me happier and of course, much much healthier than before!! Definitely come and join Fitness Edge!! read more

This 5 Star Review is not FAKE. lol These people are all speaking the truth in these reviews. I just want to say if you are seriously looking for the PERFECT spot to SEE RESULTS? JOIN FITNESS EDGE! Tungi is super passionate about seeing all of his member get the results they are looking for. I am so glad I found this place. I did Soliderfit and did not really like their system. If you come late? you cannot workout. FITNESS EDGE?! even if you are late? You can still workout! And the workouts are intense! If you are a beginner, they encourage modified versions of the workouts. This is a judge free zone and you are able to workout at your own pace. Location is great, you don't have to worry about parking issues. There is a variety of class times so you will be able to make at least 3 classes a week, which is ideal for weight loss or weight gain results. Love the staff and love this gym! I highly recommend this place. read more

Can't believe it's been 6 months since I started coming here! This gym is more than just a place to work out, it is a real community driven team and feels like family. A great team of trainers led by Tungi, who has such amazing energy, makes it an inclusive place to work out no matter your physical experience, age, or body type. I've made a lot of progress in strength during this time, improved flexibility, better form, and made a few friends along the way. It's always a fun time here, and you definitely will be pushed to reach your goals and beyond. I definitely recommend giving them a shot if you are looking for a gym and unsure where to start. read more

Amazing gym led by amazing people. Cannot say enough positive things about Fitness Edge. Such a positive and motivating environment to help meet your goals. Been a member here for about 2 months now. Love the classes and how adaptable they are to people of all levels. I've made big strides in my physical health already in this short time. If more than five stars were an option, they would have them. This gym is such a welcoming atmosphere where both trainers and clients are so motivated and supportive. And that is just the icing on the cake because their methodology is so effective and doable. I am someone who has been struggling with motivation to get back in the gym but with these dynamic quick paced circuit exercises I never felt too overwhelmed or bored because it was lasting forever. Each exercise is about a minute of your own level of intensity and you can do anything for a minute no matter how much you don't want to work out. The entire hour is about moving and changing exercises to get a balanced work out. If you like working out in a group and to be pushed harder than what you would do on your own AND you want to feel seen, supported and welcomed for who you are no matter what? THIS IS YOUR GYM. read more

Where to begin... Fitness Edge (FE) is A M A Z I N G!! I tried FE with a Groupon deal, and I was thinking that after a month I would go back to my gym because it is so much closer than FE is for me... but guess what... I end up quitting my existing Bootcamp (SF) and slowly transitioning here. The instructors are friendly and attentive. Give very detailed instructions during a workout to help you prevent injuries. The intensity is extremely crazy. And I love it!!! I use Myzone belt which helps me reach my fitness goals and with FE, I achieve more than my aimed goals. FE gym stays clean, sanitized, and organized. I am glad that I tried the trial and happy to continue and get the desired results. Everyone there is super supportive, motivating, helpful, and inspiring. read more

I can't tell you how many gyms I've been to where I felt like I didn't know what I was doing. Fitness Edge changed that for me. I have never been to a gym where the atmosphere was electric with excitement, the music was just right, the people are friendly and motivating. I came to this gym from Groupon and from the first day I came, Tungi, Val and all trainers have been amazing. As a novice, I appreciate their guidance and patience in helping me achieve my goals! All in all, this gym is a recipe for success. If you're looking for a community that has the right vibe and good camaraderie, definitely check this out! read more

AWESOME. AMAZING. LOVE THIS GYM. I was looking for a gym that gave me a support system but was also focused on getting people fit. FitnessEdgeMD challenges you to become the best YOU. Tungi and Brittany have brought together a team of trainers and created an amazing community that really offers something special to us members. Each workout is different so you never get bored but you know you're working! The trainers want you to be better because they know you can do it! The group classes are awesome because you get to become friends with the people you see everyday. There's a lot of partner and group work which just make you want to go harder in every workout. Everyone is welcoming and pushes you to stick with your workout goals. TOP FIVE TOP FIVE, highly recommend. read more

I came here on a Groupon deal, but unfortunately I was only able to go a handful of times. One thing will prevent me from signing on for a membership - my schedule. The coaches here are great - they're passionate about what they do, they motivate you, and make you feel welcome. The hour flies by and you're on the move for the entire hour. Regardless of how many people show up, they make it work. Some things to consider before joining would be: your schedule, and your preferred workout style. I leave work around 3:30pm, so I like to get my workout in before coming home. The workout times just didn't fit my own personal style. I liked the circuit training, but it often felt like controlled chaos with dumbbells everywhere. Since I was new to the circuit training style and many of the exercises/the number of reps per exercise, I'd often find that I'd waste time scrambling for weights, and time would be up before I knew it. I also enjoy being flexible with my workouts - maybe switching leg day from Tuesday to Friday. Here, each day of the week is a set muscle group/workout. If I miss a Monday, I've missed leg day/lower body for the week. This gym and style of workout is fantastic for those who need to be held accountable and wouldn't push themselves as hard on their own. Unfortunately it just didn't work out for me for the reasons stated above. read more

OMG. I can't say enough amazing things about this gym and owner - Tungi! He is so passionate about what he does and truly lights up the room with his positive attitude and love for the gym. I don't live in the area anymore so every time I can get back I book classes here immediately - I wish I could make it every day but sometimes too sore from such good workouts! No workout is ever the same. Each day is a different template for a different muscle group. Monday is leg day and Tuesday is upper body so it's just a fantastic way to start your week. The coaches and Tungi all have great templates that vary and really push you to challenge yourself. Wednesday (cardio day) is so hard in the best way possible. It's not your usual CrossFit or group fitness class - they really go the extra mile to create fun and unique challenges and workouts. Every class I go to I'm trying new move(s) I haven't tried before. I've been using them on ClassPass because I don't live nearby but if I did I would absolutely buy a membership. There is truly no better gym. If I for some reason have to move back to the area this will be my first stop to become a member! I've been an avid workout class/fitness studio goer and I can truly say this is the BEST one. I've been a MEMBER at gyms before where they don't take the time to get to know you or even find out your name. Day one Coach Tungi introduced himself and asked my name/welcomed me with open arms. DAY TWO HE REMEMBERED MY NAME! This seems like a small thing but this almost NEVER happens! Instructors need to be outgoing and encouraging and that's really what Tungi is. He welcomes every person at him gym and really has some kind of relationship with each and every person. There's nobody more deserving of a successful business with all the work he has put into the gym! It is also newly renovated. Book a class you won't regret it! read more

This place literally has changed my life & it's not all about the physical growth but mental and emotional. I moved here about a year ago and knew absolutely no one. This gym was the first place I could come and really call home. I met so many new people and it took me out my comfort zone. I was looking for a place I could really find positive people & thats what I found! Tungi makes you feel so welcome and is so warming. He pushes you to be your best while also making you feel good about yourself. I never have had the experience at any other gym than I have here. The classes also are so fun. Once you get here, you know that they have a great workout for you and they work with you at whatever level you are at. Everyone here is just a good vibe and definitely will be the best part of your day. read more

I've been going here now for 3 months and absolutely love it! Tungi and all the other instructors are wonderful. They're so knowledgeable and very friendly. You get a good sense of community and support here AND the instructors kick my butt every time. I actually look forward to coming to the gym and the workouts are never the same. Tungi is an awesome trainer who makes working out fun, while helping you to meet your fitness goals! He's super friendly, knowledgeable, and really cares about his members. My friend and I did personal training sessions with him (it's a little cheaper to train with 2 people) and I took some of the group classes, which are offered at various times throughout the week. He has several other trainers who help run classes and do personal training sessions, as well. Everyone is personable, full of energy, and great at what they do! Tungi has created a great community at Fitness Edge and it's a very welcoming and inclusive environment where you can come and push your body while also having fun and feeling supported. And it's very affordable. I highly recommend!! read more

This is the best Gym I have been to . I am an older adult and I was a little nervous and intimidated to start. From the first day people said hello . The staff and members are really a Family. The owner Tunji knows everybody and makes a point to say hello before classes start. You feel like a person instead of someone taking up space at other gyms I have been to. The workouts are fun and challenging , you can go at your own pace if it is to much. We all have those days !! After my first class, I was hooked immediately and joined right away. I truly think Fitness Edge has the best classes in the area. I have tried almost every other facility in our area, and not only do I see the best results here, but it is also super affordable. I have been going to Fitness Edge for a little over three weeks and can say if you want to encounter a group of fitness trainers that are passionate about what they do, believe in their clients and share a true love of being healthy and educating people on how to live that lifestyle, then this is the place for you! I get so much support from all the staff at Fitness Edge and they really do strive to make you feel a part of the Fitness Edge family. That can also be seen in the clients who have been members of Fitness Edge for a while. They share the same family spirit that is passed on from the trainers. I have gained so much more confidence and a desire to be healthier since joining Fitness Edge. As a result, my weight has improved so much and I can do a burbee now! (Small beginnings) read more

Been working out here since it opened after getting to know Tungi at a different fitness facility. Tungi's easygoing nature and patience is mixed with a determination to help every person change his body and lifestyle. I would say beware of the smile because that might mean he has something diabolical in mind (the Murph), but he smiles a lot, which makes the workouts easier. No two workouts are the same as Tungi adds tons of variety to hit the major muscle groups. Every fiber of my body is exhausted after every workout, but I also feel better, which is a testament to the gym's effectiveness. There was no awkwardness, Tungi took me under his wing and guided me through what I needed to reach my goals. The workouts are great! Tungi makes it fun and pushes you to your full potential. This gym has been a total game changer for me. I used to do Classpass but it was expensive and I was running all over the DMV trying to get a good workout. Plus I really wasn't seeing the gains I wanted. In just a few months at Fitness Edge I have gained so much muscle, and have even been able to do multiple pull-ups...this has been a goal of mine for years! Tungi is warm, welcoming, fit, and so encouraging. I was so intimidated the first time I walked in, thinking it was some intense cross-fit type place. The work outs are SERIOUS but also fun and ALSO there's never any gross pressure to go beyond what you're capable of-just encouragement from the whole place! All the gym goers are super friendly too. I am so so happy I found this gym, and recommend it to everyone! read more

I love Fitness Edge and found the need to share about my experience because I have struggled to find a place to work out.. until now! I personally hate reading essay type reviews so I am going to break my thoughts down in bullet points.. -Simply walking into the gym sets the tone for your workout experience. Every single staff member is warm and welcoming. I have never felt that any question was too stupid to ask. I especially appreciate how Tungi always has a smile on his face and gets you pumped to work out. -The team accommodates and sets goals for people who are injured like me.. They modify the training program to avoid further injuries and set goals to help you feel confident in your training. Since coming to this gym I feel much stronger and faster than I did even before my injury. -You actually have fun during your work out! All the trainers make it a point to notice you during the work out and really make the experience enjoyable which keeps you from feeling like the work out is a chore.
