How they modify the exercises for ALL members is the best part. For me, they give me suggestions to make them more challenging. For others, they'll have them lower the weights and do lower impact exercises to accommodate injuries and level of experience. Every workout is different, which keeps things interesting. The program is motivating and I can honestly say I get in just as good of a workout in 45 minutes here as I would in 1.5 hours on my own in a weight room. It's fast paced, but doable for everyone. The space itself is organized and clean. The members I've met are all friendly and the coaches are encouraging. This isn't an in-your-face bootcamp style gym. No intimidation tactics here! I can't recommend Foundry Fitness enough to anyone who wants to change up their boring, old workout routine or needs an extra kick in the butt.

To start the members at the gym are incredibly supportive and are constantly working to build one another up. Many make plans to spend time with one another outside of the gym, and encourage members to live active and healthy lives. I am not originally from the Montgomery County area and the gym has given me greater sense of community. You want an insanely good workout that is fun and gives you a sense of accomplishment?! You will absolutely get it here. I have always considered myself an athlete, but my first Crossfit workout at the gym was an eye opener. You will be pushed to your limits and beyond. The coaching staff are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. They are willing to put in the extra time to help you improve and are constantly walking around checking form. The last thing they want is for someone to injure themselves. If for some reason you do have an injury or movements that are difficult for you to do they will take the time to help alter workouts for you, or give you other options. One of the things I love most about the gym is the wide range of age groups. We have members that are in their early 20s to members in their 60s. It's fun to work out with such a huge range of people and see everyone improving regardless of where they started. This place is my second home. I can't imagine my week without it and the people that make up the community.

Love the gym and equipment - this gym (Rockville location) has everything you need to include several pieces of cardio equipment (but not too many because it's definitely a strength gym). The vibes are pretty good - I like the lighting, the posing room, the music, the chill staff, and that it's well maintained. My ONLY complaint about this gym is that on MANY occasions, they would just remove/change/move/add equipment with no warning. So for example, they had a nice, standard MTS row machine (plate loaded), and it was great. One day, I walked into the gym to do a pull day and it was GONE. Some other very clunky, very awkward machine in its place. Same with the plate loaded low row machine they had - loved it, walked in one day and GONE. Replaced with another back machine that was not even close to the same. I don't know, I just found this incredibly irritating! Anyway, the locker/restrooms are well maintained, there are saunas in each one, and plenty of lockers (although that was a new upgrade earlier this year, and none of the lockers have handles, so it's awkward), but whatever. The time of day I work out is awesome (around 2 am) because the gym is virtually empty, but I know during some other times of the day (bro hours, if you will), the crowd gets kind of douchey lol. Either way, I enjoyed this gym and would go back in a heartbeat. They also had a very easy cancellation system and I had no issues cancelling my membership (in advance) before I moved out of the area. *Lastly, they also offer several different plans, so make sure you find the one that meets your requirements.

As usual I was there on time and I met Liz. The first thing I felt was home and family. The ambience and surrounding keeps you engaged to your workouts. Liz will make sure that you get your goals covered and guide you to target higher. I also got training sessions by Jeethu who herself is an amazing person. She will focus on your technical abilities and lead you to perfection. Todd and Joe are my other coach. They are motivation machines, that you can get help when you need the most. You can grow with the team. My gym members are friendly and always are willing to do workout as a team. This also helped me more than regular gyms where you are isolated from the rest. One more good thing about Crossfit become is, "We have different workouts everyday". Liz also takes Power Yoga classes twice a week which is amazing. After my 6 weeks training, i was addicted to crossfit and enrolled as a monthly member and I'm still a part of the family. Thank you Crossfit Become to help me achieve more than I expected.

I've been doing xfit off-and-on for about 5 years and have been to some very good boxes, however, I found Xfit Become to be unfulfilling in a few ways: 1) The crowd was uninspiring - I went at 5:30 PM and was surprised to find the crowd was mostly out-of-shape, middle-aged moms, and a few older guys. Now, I'm not ripped or anything, but in my experience, other xfit boxes tend to attract competitive Athletes and servicemembers. Instead, the atmosphere was decidedly less competitive and elite, and there was a noticeable lack of Athletic ability and fitness among the attendees. I love working out with guys who ARE ripped - it's inspiring. But at Xfit Become, I was disappointed. It honestly felt more like a Mommy Aerobics class than xfit. They were welcoming, though, and even included an icebreaker to introduce everyone - so some might find this the right culture for them. 2) The program was not intense and lacked strength straining - I'm not sure if this was a special class or what, but there was no weight lifting. Also, the warmup was surprisingly weak compared to other boxes I've been to (where the warmup is practically a workout on its own). Several of us stood around a lot without anything to do during the pistol technique practice time, which literally nobody in the class was fit enough to do a single pistol, by the way. The Metcon itself included *only* HSP's and Pistols - which meant that muscle fatigue set in long before any real elevated, sustained heart rate could be achieved. Normally these kinds of Metcons are broken up with jogs in between the rounds...By the end of the class, I was shocked to find that for the first time in my Xfit career, I finished a metcon (and the entire class) without breaking a sweat. 3) The instructor - As this was my first class, I was surprised that the instructor ignored me. I'm experienced, but I still expected some attention, at least in terms of evaluating my ability/technique, pushing me to do more, etc. But she ignored me entirely! She was active with the other members, though. Maybe she thought I didn't need/want attention? I left the class feeling neglected and that I wouldn't get the push and discipline I would need to maintain my motivation and push myself. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but also didn't really feel like xfit.

The owner was bullish, sexist, and spouted some very bizarre statements that almost bordered on conspiracy theories (the NOAA one was my favorite). He once made a joke about his pregnant wife being a broken sandwich maker and when no one laughed, he doubled down and re-explained the "joke". Very cool, dude. The owner wrote workouts for himself and himself only and became oddly competitive with anyone he thought he *should* be able to beat. Once watched him lift way too much weight, hurt his back, and rack himself all in a span of 20 seconds all because another dude was lifting more than him. Hilarious that he also harassed another member for wearing a weight belt but, yanno, break ya spine because ego. Super embarrassing for a gym owner. The gym itself was ok - equipment was hella used and I had the odd suspicion that he had no plans to update anything. Classes were tight and crammed and honestly, he was not a great coach for anyone more experienced. Dude was completely checked out so, again, not surprised this place closed.

They welcome absolutely anyone, regardless of your fitness level! There are plenty of people that are members whom are extremely new to fitness and then there are others whom are natural athletes, there is a great mixture of all fitness levels and it's an extremely encouraging and positive environment. The owners and the coaches are all very knowledgeable. The facility has plenty of equipment and is very well kept. If you have any hesitation about trying out crossfit, I'd stay quit that hesitation nonsense and just do it. The coaches and members here are all great people and provide endless support.
