This is one of the few (or perhaps only) two-story Burlington I have been to. I went recently to look for luggage and was told that I have to take the elevator down. Downstairs is all the luggage, housewares, and I believe also baby clothes. Now I had to look through their variety, pick one luggage and without looking inside due to that cable they put on their luggage); then I take it upstairs (because they don't usually have the cashiers downstairs operational), get in line and have the cashier there open it. Low and behold it was not to my liking. So I got back downstairs and request assistance to be able to have the cable removed so I can take a peak inside two of them and choose one. I was appreciative that there was someone to assist because this whole "loss prevention" makes life so much more difficult for everyone else. I gave them an extra star for the very friendly service. But I certainly don't want to return to this Burlington. read more

It's a Burlington, but it's not the most ideal. Burlington of Burbank, located in the Burbank Town Center has a lack of a selection in certain areas and an overflow in others. Most of the store is pretty wide open, staff can be personable and friendly though during the holidays it can get chaotic here. I typically pass through from other mall adventures. Occasionally I discover items we could use at home as well as gifts. I don't think I've been lucky enough to find any coats or ideal clothing for myself, but the men's selection can be a bit lackluster plus very reduced inventory (at least for the men's department) even though this location is bigger than the one in Sherman Oaks I end up at quite a bit, but people don't seem to like the security doing their job there... There's actually a lack of security, loss prevention and things you'd hope we'd be more present. Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, has always been a bargain store to find affordable items, clothing and essentials, but they've super leaned into the discount aspect the last five years. I used to think of Burlington, especially this location, as an elevated version of Ross Dress for Less (which I'm a fan of since they know themselves and have actually improved their brand over time), but that is no longer the case. There feels like there's always some sort of a line, even during non peak hours, but I know retailing can be hard to staff. I got my wok from here and it's still doing great. Discovering new books or items for my niece, nephews and chosen family/friend's kid is something I will say is a plus. There should be an option for zero star for this store! Extremely disappointing and disrespectful customer service! I will never shop at this store again and will discuss it with my family, friends and coworkers! I went in to purchase a $34 purse, and I understand that it had a security lock on it. That part was not the issue. What was upsetting was the way I was treated. After the security device was removed, I wasn't even allowed to look at or touch the purse. The employee asked for my name and told me she would take the purse directly to the cashier, and that I could walk over there to pay for it. I understand employees have to follow store policies, and I don't blame the employee personally for doing her job. However, there is a respectful way to handle security procedures without making an honest customer feel like a criminal. This is a nice neighborhood, and I have never experienced this type of treatment in the other stores at the mall. Even Macy's that has much much more expensive merchandises manage to protect their products without humiliating their consumers. I told the employee, "Thank you, you can keep the purse. I'm not a thief, and I refuse to be treated like one." I walked over to Macy's in the same mall instead and purchased a nice purse, a shirt, and a pair of pants.l and spent much more than $34. Burlington is home to all things left behind. If you have time in your hand its worth a visit. Enter from the parking structure or thru the mall side. In order to find a treasure, one needs to do a little digging. If you have patience you can walk away with some deals. They have a good collevtion of stuff. Mainly, jackets, shoes and handbags. I saw some ties for $7.99. Shirts were about $10.00. Purses between $20-$100. Check out lines are long. However, there is a lot of good finds as you wait. I'm not sure why I always visit this location. There are always so many aisles that are just either picked clean, or you can see people have just ripped out and taken small pieces of items (especially in the toy department). As far as clothes go, if you're looking for something, be prepared to spend time hunting. There isn't much organization to things so you're just going to have to go through racks and racks of items hoping to find what you're looking for. Honestly, this place feels more like a thrift store than an actual new item store. At least prices are good if you find something you want. If you're looking for an employee for help, good luck. I only ever see one or two working the register and then two or three 'theft prevention' people around the exits. Maybe they should have one of those people roaming around the toy/home good sections to make sure people aren't picking apart items there. I really just looove being stopped when I enter and exit a store with a barrier and a long winded explanation that they are doing it for my safety. Sure thing, one person a piece of thick ribbon are really keeping Burlington safe....all the signs that declare they prosecute shoplifters and large surveillance screens are also super aggressive, and give a we think you are the problem feel. I don't need to feel like a criminal for just walking into your store; I'll be taking my business elsewhere. No greetings which is not a big deal. During transaction she gave me attitude like my presence there was bothering her. She asked for my ID in a very rude tone like I did something to her and she slammed it on the counter. Maybe she was having a bad day or something, but she should be nicer to customers. This location is a bit funky. It's sort of hard to navigate the way it's laid out and where things are. It also comes and goes as to if the racks will be filled or not. Sometimes I come and I see so much stuff but not always. The area where luggage, baby things, and random housewares are makes no sense. It's always like one huge mess where baby stuff is scattered all over luggage which is all in disarray around housewares, but that's not even the area housewares are in. I only noticed this because I was looking for a backpack, which were in the messy area but ALSO upstairs in the men's area. This place also suffers from long lines and only 1-2 cashiers. You get 2 stars because I've gotten some stuff in here that is better quality than Ross. read more

The only flaw is that they don't return perfume but apparently some locations do, I was told from a staff member "it depends on who you get" and unfortunately I'm always unlucky. They typically have a great selection but every time I go it's different so it just depends on your luck. I love coming here for home goods and organization items. One time I bought Steve Madden shoes for a wedding as a bridesmaid at the actually store and then found them at Burlington for a fraction of the price, let's just say the other bridesmaids were grateful for my find! I have been coming here in hopes to get a Hello Kitty blanket since ive never gotten one here. I work so I could never go during the day or the morning, only on weekends! I went on Sunday and had seen some blankets on hold for the employees, which was completely fine. I had asked if I can get one or if they had more I was told " no, the employees are taking them all" (by an employee). Everyone is entitled to get what they like i guess but why cant we put on hold? However, two girls were complaining to the MALE manager & he ends up giving them FOUR blankets from the back stating there is a lot of Hello Kitty Blanket shipments being processed as we speak & he apolgizes, so to follow him to the stock room. I honestly was upset because I had asked for the blankets and I'm rudely told no but these girls get a large amount of blankets? So I asked to speak to the same male manager however, a female manager came out & after explaining the whole situation she tells me she will give me one to just wait around because she understands the situation is very unfair & to let her process it. I waited two hours inside the store just for her to tell me she's not going to bring them out. TWO HOURS!!! Not 20 minutes.. 10 minutes, one hour but TWO HOURS! I was upset because why didn't she tell me way sooner than keeping me there for hours waiting? So knowing they had a lot in the back, I waited around one more hour in hopes they would bring them out. And as I am exiting the store feeling defeated; to my surprise, they bring them out. * I overheard the security from the bottom floor telling somebody on the phone the blankets are coming out to be ready & that is why I ran back into the stores blanket section. The very nice worker was putting out multiple different Hello Kitty and other character blankets. As i am reaching to grab the Hello Kitty ones that i really wanted and waited hours for, the same security guard runs to the cart and snatches them out in my face looks at me & smirks and gives them to these two girls that were waiting for her behind the isle, and then runs back to front of the store (downstairs) ALL WHILE ON THE CLOCK.. I was in such disbelief of what just happened.. I waited hours and finally, they are inches away from me, my hard work is paying off and the security on the clock literally runs to the blankets grabs them and gives them to the girls she was originally talking to on the phone telling them to come?! Unbelievable! I left the store in literal tears. Till this emffninking about that scenario makes me so sad. I cannot believe that the managers at Burlington even allows stuff like this. There was no string, just a tag on the back of the shoe. I bought them for my mom, who is disabled. She never wore those shoes because they were too big for her and asked to return them; however, I wanted to exchange them instead, as I have been shopping here for many years. I needed some lounge wear and more PJ-s, figured Burlington would be a good choice that won't break my bank. I was glad the store inside the Burbank Mall has opened. But going inside was quiet an experience: they moved everything from level 1 to ground level and the other way around. So, besides COVID changes inside the store you have to adjust to their changes, figure out that the Ladies Dept. is now upstairs. Oh boy! Unfortunately the fitting rooms are closed (it seems like they are at all stores inside the mall I have visited). So not being able to try things on does limit my shopping. The selection was just OK, prices are decent, got a few things that either looked like they'd fit me or I tried on top of my clothes. Since you can't try anything on, maybe they can extend their return/exchange policy? I usually don't like to do that, but since trying anything on is mission impossible, then it'd be nice to have that option! Mostly people respected the mask on policy, although some folks choose not to cover their noses. I personally moved if folks were getting too close. It was just one register open (customer service could be better) and a line while they have a lot of security inside the store! First and foremost... Burlington "Coat" Factory is a terrible store. When returning 2 items, I looked for 2 other things I really needed, one being a coat or jacket. They had neither, and what type of jackets they did have looked like something on the sale rack for 10 years. The handful of times I have been, they have very little stock, or what they do have is just junk. It's set up like Ross is now, or Marshals, etc.. But those are far better options in general. Be forewarned that they have a 30 day return policy. No other store that sells clothing and goods that I know of has only a 30 day return policy. So all I could get was store credit because I was at 32 days. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to the store just based on that. This is exactly how businesses are losing customers, and not gaining new ones. I'd like to think that I will write my complaint letter about this to the administrative offices. But at this point, I have about nine of those I need to do because customer service stinks now. And this is how these big stores are, all gonna die in the end, and most will just buy online as online stores increase their customer service policies making it actually the best option. This isn't a great department store by any means, but you can find some nice affordable clothes if you dig hard enough. What annoys me about this store is why is it that the store opens at 9:00 a.m., and yet the gates / doors on the second and third floor of the mall to the store don't open until 11:00? This makes no sense. I've come here a few times where I've had to wait until 11:00 a.m. to get in, I don't want to walk to the only entrance that is open that is a bit far from where I parked. Another pet peeve of mine is that sometimes the dressing rooms are closed for no apparent reason, so you can't try anything on to see if it fits you or not! Stopped in a few days ago to make a few returns. Surprisingly the store was fairly organized (a big change from past visits), especially during the holiday crunch time. However there weren't a lot of people in the store or mall for that matter. But here for me cuz I hate crowds. So of course I just can't do a return..I have to browse for other great deals, which I found. Yippee! Got in the line with two people ahead of me and I live you not I waited 20 minutes! The cashiers were in no hurry and didn't feel compelled at any point to call for backup. Meanwhile the line grew to over 12 now behind me. When I finally got to the register I was not greeted and the cashier never smiled. She didn't appear she knew what she was doing and kept counting the 5 items I was purchasing and matching up to what she rang up. It really was a bizarre transaction. And when I handed her a Burlington gift card she looked at it in confusion. Them asked, "oh is this a gift card?" Yes lady! Haven't you ever seen one before. Sheesh! I knew there was only about $8 on it, and when she saw the gift card didn't cover the whole total, again she looked miffed. I was standing there with my debit card waiting to swipe to pay for the additional sale and she said there want which in the gift card. Um...it's I know that's why I'm waiting here with my debit card in pain view. Wow it just was a painful transaction! Finally after I was done, someone called for backup. (Of course!) The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the show was clean and well stocked. And they actually have been getting in better merchandise. Normally I would never come here but I've been trying to use this gift card up for two years now. But I'm pleasantly surprised about some of the improvements I've seen over the past few years. My grandson wanted a quick toy and I had to bodyguard him in the hazardous toy aisle to ensure his safety. It's easier to do returns at Ross. I'd rather shop at Ross. I brought back sneakers I got from Burlingtons less then thirty days ago and I used card to purchase it. I didn't have the recitpt but she can easily look up what I bought. She said she can't do a return because the shoes are used and they can't resell them. The shoes did not have holes in them. There's nothing that wrong with them. If the standard is "the item is used so you can't return the item" then that needs to be posted somewhere however to me that rule makes no sense. read more

Everything is in disarray, stuff not organized on shelves, thrown around, furniture in the walkway...I couldn't stand to be in there. Store was well stocked on a Saturday afternoon in late October. Plenty of staff around to assist. 4 registers open on the second level, where I shopped. Lots of gift options are already out, along with winter holiday/Christmas decor. Almost messy in some areas, but still fairly neat before the holiday rush. read more

A employee there by the name of Helen tripped on a basket that my daughter was holding for me . She then turns and looks at my daughter and says something in her language which I did not understand but then walked away. Minutes later I hear her bickering to a lady named Nancy about the situation. She went on talking about my daughter and blaming my daughter for her incident . I couldn't believe she was doing it in front of my face. I then walked over and asked her if she like to address something to me about my child ? She went on saying I should not be eaves dropping her conversations. I made it clear that if she was speaking about my daughter I should be in that conversation. I love Burlington Coat Factory. This location is an OK location. It's located at the Burbank Towncenter. You can enter the store either through the mall or the parking lot. There are two levels to this Burlington Coat Factory. The top level has children's clothing home accessories and jewelry and purses. Downstairs level two has the men's and women's clothing. They have a great selection of items but I find that a lot of times their stock is low. The prices are great. Comparable to Ross Marshall's and TJ Maxx. The quality of the products that you receive here are great as well. Burlington Coat Factory seems to be adding more namebrand clothing which is very great. It keeps them in competition with the other big-name stores as mentioned above. read more

He found a huge stack he liked, each under $10 for descent name brands and good quality. So I purchased a coffee cup just yesterday and I know I gave the cashier my phone number when buying my cup. I went to work the next day to use my new cup I was so excited about and it leaked coffee everywhere. I came to return it and figured I didn't need my receipt which got tossed out, but they say with your phone number you can still retrieve a receipt. When you're black and you're inside a 2 stories department store where each floor is the size of a Walmart and every time you turn around you see the same security guard around you, you're being followed. To make sure I wasn't exaggerating, I left him downstairs and took the elevator to the top floor to pay. 5 minutes later, he came up. There's no security on the bottom floor and there were already 2 on the top floor. He left the bottom floor unattended just to come up. This is a skinny tall white guy maybe in his late 50s. To make matters worse, this guy finds his way next to my cashier as I was paying. Mind you there's 10 cashier boots. I'll never go back there again. read more
