Date of visit: July 14, 2025 The name change from "Burlington Coat Factory" hasn't done much to improve the overall appearance of their stores as they look like they haven't been properly organized since 1998. That being said, I had some time to kill in the area and did actually find a gift idea for my mom at a reasonable price. Outside of the security guard that said "Welcome" with a pleasantness that reminded me of Marge's sisters from The Simpsons and the guy that almost ran me over with a rolling rack, there wasn't any employee interaction on the salesfloor and the cashier was pleasant, though I didn't need to hear him refer to someone (thankfully not me!) as a "M*****f****" as I walked up to the register. I have not been to a Burlington coat factory in 20 years and I remember why, I never leave with a coat that I actually like and with that being said let's start the review. I was entertaining the idea of a new coat with a different look so I thought I would stop by and see what they had. The store has that thrift store feel and once again it looks like they stock inventory that is left overs from other stores when it comes to the clothing and shoes. The store is way more than coats and has items for every room and clothing for all ages from casual to dressy. There is a bath section, toys, kitchen, shoes, living room etc and a snack chip isle. I did look at some of the prices and the names on the items which were not bad at all. Tommy Hilfiger and Nike were some of the names on the racks I noticed. If you want to get a leather coat here than you will have to bring your own in, all fake leather that I felt and looked at. This is more of a bargain place for family's to shop for the children for the most part but it would be a great place for a persons first apartment to put together with reasonable art work and such to fill spaces. Well I did walk out with some home goods that I was going to get anyway but no new coat, go figure. The store does have a place in retail but it's geared to a specific shopper. read more

This was my first time in BCF and I was really surprised by the amount of merchandise this store stocks - I mean, they really have everything and lots of it. Whether any of it is stuff you'd actually BUY...well, that's another story. BCF was stop #2 on Luggage Quest. They have it but don't waste your time - pretty much only WalMart quality no-name stuff. Great for a leisure trip to Florida but it wouldn't hold up for the long term. On the clothing side, there's a ton of it. Most of it is crap but the men's department had some surprising gems, like soccer jerseys for super cheap. A Chelsea or Man U warm up jacket for $20 is a good deal. For women, they have a lot larger selection of Professional Work Lady clothes if you need them, as well as a HUGE (and claustrophobic) shoe department. They even have dog toys. The brands seem to be mostly stuff you can get at Sears, with a few Calvin Klein discards thrown in for flair, but the prices seemed fair. If you have the patience to dig through the racks (I don't) this store has a lot of potential. read more

T J Maxx copy cat. The feel and layout made be feel like at T J Maxx twin store. The store itself is not run down or dirty. But with in the clothing section in the middle of the store. Clothing was on the floor, hanging over the racks or hanging barely on a hanger. The store itself seemed under stocked overall. Guess I'd rather shop elsewhere that's stock better. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Burlington Coat Factory, anytime I go there to look for something to buy I never find anything but when am just walking through and browsing I always find something. This was my first time going to Burlington Coat Factory in years and now I remember why everyone always says not to. This specific location was extremely disappointing as it was dirty and the merchandise was everywhere. I purchased a winter coat that was supposed to have a removable hood (which I was unaware of until I got home) so my coat was missing a piece. I found the same coat online for a lower price and when asked if they price matched with their own store all I got was a dirty look and a rude "no". Also the woman at the check out didn't bother to talk to me but instead continued to gossip with her coworkers throughout the transaction and at the time we're actually getting pizza delivered to the store for them. If giving the store zero stars was an option I absolutely would. Save yourself the disappointment and just don't go here. read more

A few friends of mines told me that the store near my location had many cute clothes and that I should check out the store. I decided to listen to their reviews, and I indeed found many cute items that I had wanted at the store, but I encountered HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. As I picked out a few clothing items and headed towards the fitting room, I noticed that the fitting room was dirty. The rooms had a plethora of clothes on the ground, on the stools/places to place the items and on the hooks -- not to mention, the fitting room(s) were completely unattended and supervised. I cleaned up the room that I was going to use and was going to place them on the rack, when I noticed that there had been a black rope like item blocking the other side of the fitting room. It was diagonally placed, and right next to it, there was a sign saying, "caution -- wet floor." I, along with two other individuals going to try on clothes, thought that the black rope was just telling us that there was liquid on the floor, and to avoid it; therefore, I along with them, moved the black rope slightly so that we could place the clothes from the fitting room onto the rack. (To note, there was no other signs and or employees around at the moment). Approximately 10 minutes later, two female employees came over and started complaining and making rude remarks. They stated that they were fed up with people using the fitting rooms, and that they placed the black rope there so that people would stop putting the clothes on the rack and put away their own items. One of the employees also stated that she should have just closed down the fitting room so that she didn't have to clean up people's S%$#, then looked at me and made rude remarks about my mother and I. Afterwards, I took the five to six items within my hands and placed them back where I found them. I then just left the store with my mother. so unprofessional. Bad attitudes. They lost my layaway a few times. The manager rude and that one lad who watches everyone who she think is stealing. never really have items in the spots there belong. example: you might find babies 6months-9months in the men department....never will I shop here again read more

I havent been to this Burlington in years because there is definitely a NOT very professional group of employees here. I usually drive to Sun Prarie just because they are soooo much nicer and better things to pick from. I do love the big and tall mens section at the Captiol store though. I intend on writing someone else regarding my experience. But I do want to say that there definitely is a 'racist' thing going on here toward white people. I stood in line for almost five minutes straight -- while the employee purposely ignored me standing and waiting She was busy doing NOTHING!!! one of her co-workers finally said out loud "you have a customer' and she continued to do nothing down the way. She finally came over -- NO greeting -- rang up my items -- but them in a bag -- threw the bag on the counter and threw my receipt on the counter as well. NO THANK YOU -- NO GOOD DAY -- NO HANDING me ANYTHING...it was the first register next to the door on 8/16 -- around 6:00pm -- two girls up front -- one nice heavier girl (NOT THE PROBLEM -- shes the one that told the other one to come over) -- the one was black and thinner. This store is near where I work, so I stop in occasionally on my lunch break. I like the large selection of housewares, which is what I'm typically there to see. What has been consistent every time I've been there is the apathetic customer service. The women working at the cash registers couldn't possibly be slower or less friendly. Oftentimes there isn't even a 'hello' or eye contact when they hand over the receipt. Yesterday I got into the checkout line with 4-5 items to purchase. I was 5th or 6th in line, and while I waited 5 or 6 more people got in line behind me. We waited, and waited, and waited. Neither of the cashiers called for another cashier to come up front, they just continued plodding slowly along. I finally checked the time and realized I had only 10 minutes to get back to work, so I was forced to set my items down and leave the store without purchasing them. I don't know if they don't pay enough to hire higher quality employees or if the store management just doesn't care about the sad lack of customer service, but it's pretty awful. If you have access to another location of this store I would advise going there instead. read more
