As a previous employee of this company and long time shopper it is disheartening to have to write this. I went shopping at your Southridge Mall location in Greenfield, WI and had the most terrible experience. I needed dress pants for a last minute event happening this coming Sunday. I picked out a handful of things that I knew I needed to try on because my size fluctuates especially in this brand. When I approached the fitting room I was greeted with a large sign saying it was closed. I asked the associate who was folding denim why was this case he says not enough staff to monitor the area. I was the only person in the store and clearly in need of a dressing room. Meanwhile there were two more associates in the store. One at register and another just wondering around. I was agitated and asked the very nice cashier why was the fitting room closed if there are three of you here? She was very nice and said the same thing the other associate had said about bring short staffed. When I informed her there was an associate right next to the fitting room folding jeans she graciously informed me he was the manager. She then proceeded to tell me I could purchase the items now and go across the hall to another retailer to try them on!! First, doesn't that ruin your conversion numbers? Second, doesn't that anger fellow retailers with your company? Third, it's a terrible business model that irritates customers as well as incoviences them. Lastly, why is your customer having to do all the work?! I went over to the manager and asked for further explanation of why they couldn't let me try on. He was very abrasive and said they had projects to complete and couldn't watch the fitting rooms. I politely set my items down on the table he was working on and said good luck with your projects. As I started to walk away and loudly told me to have a great day. Which anyone in the retail world knows is a polite way of expressing your distaste for the person you were interacting with. Needless to say, I won't be back to that location for shopping purposes.
I did have a great shopping experience at Aeropostale. One person working with many other customers in the store. She offered me a fitting room, went out of her way to check in and help me find pants in my size and style all while processing shipment! She offered customer service, practiced time management and made an effort! read more
