Never coming here again!! I wanted to peacefully shop for a new perfume and was literally, i cant make this up, HARASSED for the entire 2 minutes i was looking at fragrances by the staff there. I was approached as usual initially when entering the fragrance section, which is no problem! I was made aware of the sales and promos going on and was offered help shopping to which i declined! I have horrible social anxiety and really prefer to do things like smell perfume, ALONE! This initial staff member honored my request, walked away, but then sent her coworker to come talk to be about the new boss perfume. I just told you i preferred to shop alone!!! So the second lady comes up to me with the perfume and says "ill leave you alone but just smell this" and i was like okay yeah dont like it thanks!! I kid you not, i turn around to another employee in my face asking if i need help. They are all wearing headsets but clearly not communicating with them if Im approached 3 times in 30 seconds. I politely declined conversation and continued with my attempt to just shop. Four MORE employees approached me IN THE SPAN OF 60 SECONDS. Im offered gift boxes and engraving and all this fun stuff. I tell them im shopping for myself and remain focused on what im doing. The last woman to approach me just had me appalled. She walks up to me as I'm looking at perfumes. Asked if im shopping for a fragrance. Duh! At this point i am laughing out loud because i feel like im getting pranked. I apologize to her for laughing and explain that i had just been approached so many times in a short period of time, i just walked into the store, just got to the perfume, like let me breathe for a minute!!! I swear this lady didn't comprehend a word i said because with a fluoride stare and this time attitude she asked again if I'm shopping for a fragrance. And at this point i am FED UP!! So i reply bluntly, yes i am shopping alone thank you. She continues to walk with me and states "well i work for Dior do you want to smell the new Dior perfume" all snooty like. To which i replied no thats okay. And then literally just left the store after that. I couldnt stay any longer!! For one that lady does not work for Dior she works at the Dior kiosk in Macys. LOL. And two why was that supposed to be a persuading factor?? So entitled. I told all 8 of the women who approached that im shopping for myself, preferably alone, and that i was looking for spicy and ambery scents. WHY WOULD YOU OFFER ME TO SMELL MARC JACOBS OR DIOR OR ANYTHING FLORAL!???? Ill spend my money elsewhere. Nordstrom was a great alternative! I was a new customer for Macy's, and I purchased two dresses and a pair of shoes on line. They offered me a "$10.00 Star Award" for my first order. I received the items, didn't like them, and brought them personally back to the store. They deducted the $10 "star Award". I asked why, and they said I had $10 to spend in the store. I said I paid you for the items, and I want the entire cost returned. NO WAY!!!! I said there's no place in the Star Award notification that I would lose the $10 if I returned the items. Not to be confused with Mashy's, which are the kinds of potatoes I like. This mall is located at Mayfair which is a huge old Hulk of a mall in the west suburbs of Milwaukee. It's a great destination if you like department store shopping although we both prefer JC Penney a little bit. Barbie's thoughts: Macy's is an American institution. Shopping here is a must, at least once. They have tons of clothes for women and men and children. They also have great appliances and bedding. Gift cards are great gifts. I bought a pillow here. It was plush and perfect and reduced by 50% - I have no idea why. Then I realized I couldn't take it back on the plane (too much sh** already) so it's still in Fox's car. I ordered a Calvin Klein French Shirt from Macy. The shirt took about a week to arrive. The shirt was missing the button holes for the cuff links. Called customer service and on third try got an agent who arranged to send me a replacement shirt and a free return label. The Calvin Klein replacement shirt arrived within three days. The second Calvin Klein shirt had the same fault, missing button holes to accommodate cuff links. Another call to Macy Customer service, after waiting nearly 20 minutes the agent quickly processed a return and said I would receive a refund. There was no charge for the return. Macy selling Calvin Klein junk is disappointing. Macy should demand reasonable levels of quality control of the products they offer. My opinion of Macy dropped dramatically. My opinion of Calvin Klein has now been confirmed. read more

While this store is not at the same level as it was when it was Marshall Field's, it is still a solid destination for a variety of your needs (and more importantly, your wants). It is disappointing to see the mens suits section chopped to a fraction of the floor space it once had, though the staff in the area was extremely helpful. And there are always great finds to be had in the basement Backstage area, like the shoes I scored for less than $20--to not only find a pair of shoes for my giant feet but for less than an Andrew Jackson is a Powerball-level event! read more

I've also registered for their rewards and coupons via email, and they never work correctly, so that's kind of a sham. Macy's area and regional managers should be ashamed of what they have let happen in this store. Long gone are any higher end brands. The Backstage design and concept are low-rent and feature off-brands more suited to Burlington Coat Factory and Ross. Don't use the excuse of "online shopping has killed brick-and-mortar." I was fully prepared to make holiday purchases. They have driven away the average consumer to cater to second and third tier shoppers. The entrances have never been upgraded since taking over from Marshall Fields- it simply screams "no one cares." This is pure mismanagement on the part of Macy's Corporate and Brookfield Properties. Their default is to throw up their hands and give in to the demise of the urban mall. There is money to be spent, but the people in charge need to wake up and recognize that. read more

I went here to get some retail therapy and escape covid confinement. At first I was a little depressed with the repetitive, lower end merchandise and what appeared like a ghost crew. but it turned around, and in the end I found some very nice pieces at a bargain and had some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. Macy's just doesn't cut it. Someone gave me a $100 gift card and I thought, well even if it's not my favorite place to shop I can find something...right? Women's clothes appear to be mostly for 16 year olds or AARP members, so skip that. The shoe department is huge but again, mostly two sections - trendy hooker or advanced orthopedics. I will keep praying for a Nordstrom but until then will continue to drive 100 miles one way to get to a decent department store. read more

Macy's furniture delivery services are really horrible! I had to cancel my order today because the driver did not even waited for more than 15 minutes in my building. I waited for more than one month for this sofa to be delivered. However, Macy's delayed the delivery again and again. Today, their tracking system did not show the driver's status timely and changed the time again and again. I had been waiting in my own apartment but the phone call from the driver was not heard. When I recalled to the Macy's agent, she told me the driver should be waiting there for 15 minutes. However, when I went downstairs within 2 minutes, I did not see the driver at all. And I called the agent to ask them to contact the driver to see whether he will come back, but the driver refused to do so. The agent told me the driver said he called me at least 30 minutes earlier, that was totally none sense because the earliest missed call in my phone was 13 minutes ago. The driver did not even tried to contact me at all because we have a front desk and they will let him in as long as he even gets off his car. I guess he probably lied to the company. Thus, I did not have any patience for the so-called reschedule because who knows what could happen again. That's why I made an official complaint to the agent in the phone who is very nice and friendly and cancelled the order after these terrible experience. Don't waste my money and time for this horrible furniture purchase in Macy's again! read more

If you do find a label you recognize, it is the most basic, generic, several seasons old version of the product you can find! If you're looking for a place where you can get designer goods at good prices, then Macy's is the place for you! This is absolutely one of my favorite stores to shop at, whether it's in-store or online. They frequently have great sales, and if you're a Macy's cardholder, you can use your Star Rewards passes on some of your purchases. I was at this location recently to pick up an order that I had placed online. The process was easy, and the staff was very helpful. And I scored a great deal! I purchased a pair of Guess sneakers online. The sale price alone ($29.99) was awesome. Then, at checkout, I was able to apply one of my Star Rewards to the purchase. Final price: $19.99. Score! I will continue to be a loyal Macy's customer for years to come. read more

Family got me a dinnerware set here as an xmas gift. One of the coffee cups came broken when they picked it up but the rest of the set was intact. We had all original packaging other than packing paper for it. They were only willing to take it back if we had that as well and then would have to get an entire other set after I had already cleaned and put the other dishes away. As they know most people most likely would've thrown some of packing away so they refused the return for an intact set forcing the customer to get the shaft and take the loss for not getting what they paid for. This store has very few workers manning the registers and so I decided to try using their scan and go option because I was in a hurry. I picked up the item I wanted scanned and paid for it using the Macy's app. Then the app told me to go to a register, which is what I was trying to avoid. There is only one spot to check out using scan and go, which was on the complete opposite end of the store. So now instead of just going to a register to check out, I had to go to a far off customer service desk. I had to wait in line, and then they were having technical issues so they had to return the item and repurchase it. So now a 1 minute process took more than 20 minutes. This is not technology. I will no return to shop at this store. read more

Dear Macy's You could be amazing. But not so much. If you're wondering why you're losing customers in droves; let me give you some clarity. Shoving plus size in the basement next to small appliances is a tad insensitive and insulting. It's in a tiny corner. Clearly an afterthought. The formal dresses are crammed in a rack five times to small for the albeit tiny selection. And holy F terrible terrible selection of said dresses. Such a bummer. I have FOUR weddings to attend in the next six months. I'd love to buy some dresses but no such luck. I'm counting down the days until Nordstrom opens. read more

The basis of my review is for the "Disgruntled Man Lounges" found throughout the store. However, I would only give Macy's two stars for entire store anyway.. The "husband waiting areas" here are hit or miss. Mostly though, they stink. There are a few departments were there is literally a chair tucked in amongst the racks of women's clothing... This can get very awkward. The one in the Eileen Fisher store isn't bad, but there is no reading material. The one in the seasonal collections area is probably the best. Its actually a small room offset along a wall near the changing rooms. The worst area is the shoe section. There really is no place to hang out and wait for the wife there, and its always packed with women trying on fifty pairs of shoes. UGH!! Good thing my wife doesn't like to shop at Macy's and I don't have to spend too much time there. Bring back Marshall Fields. We miss you!!!!! read more

I was always a fan of Macy's when I lived in San Francisco and used to love their sales and clearance department. They were one of the few stores that truly had 'sales'. The discounts were phenomenal and the selection never ending. I know time has passed and that things have changed with the times but I was seriously disappointed with what this location has become. I went to Macy's to check out the 2-day sale... only because I missed a few things when Boston Store was closing. I believed this sale was going to be out the box with the hype surrounding it. Man, was I disappointed! I did find a few items with significant reductions after digging for them. 70% off a $275 Calvin Klein coat. 65% discount on a $300 wool Guess trench coat... very nice clothes... but nothing I need. The sale prices just weren't worth venturing out in a snow storm for. The store itself has become a disaster. You'd think they were going out of business. The displays were messy, sizes were all mixed together items thrown on the floor. Some of the clothes were being displayed on rolling racks. For a moment I thought I was in TJ Maxx. The dressing rooms were filthy, there were no attendants present as expected in a store of this "caliber", and unwanted items were scattered on the floor and countertops. It could also be that I'm getting older but this store, like many others recently, seems to cater to young, urban individuals and not the demographic Wauwatosa offers. Yes, I found what I needed and made a purchase but only because I was there. Disappointing. read more

In general, the quality of Macy's clothing isn't that much better than Penney's, Target or Kohl's to warrant the higher prices, and the customer service is about the same. A heavily advertised end of the year sale lured me in here for a couple of suits. Initially it seemed like a good deal, but the in-house tailoring was lackadaisical and shoddy. The tailor exuded a world-weariness that I am used to getting from MPS high school teachers a year out from retirement. Maybe you would get better service if you were buying their top end suits not on sale, but I can't really afford that side of Macy's. I ended up losing much of the sale savings because I had to have the two suits tailored myself. This is another store that doesn't seem to realize that they are competing with online sales, I can get comparable suits online, go to a tailor, and still come out ahead, without encountering a single rude Mayfair Mall teenager. I also don't really like the corporate irresponsibility involved in the coats they sold trimmed with fur from dogs skinned alive, even Cruella de Vil wasn't that callous, and she took full responsibility for her inhumane aspirations (and if she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will). In all fairness, a number of the high end department stores were selling skinned-alive-dog-fur as "faux fur," but Macy's took longer to settle than the others. That's some really bad karma in my religion. read more

I can only speak for the little kiosk in Macy's that sells sunglasses (Sunglass Hut). I was looking for some nicer sunglasses besides the cheap ones I always get so we stopped by Macy's because my husband said they had a 90 day return policy (instead of the 30 day one at an actual Sunglass Hut store). The salesperson Arthur (he prefers to be called Art though) was extremely helpful. He was able to assist me in picking up styles that I liked and would look good on me. I ended up buying 2 pairs of sun glasses (they were having a sale where you can buy 2 for $199). I would definitely go back to Macy's (or at least Sunglass Hut in Macy's) because I had excellent customer service. read more

I actually had to walk out of one fitting room and go to another because of how disgusting it was. There wasn't one stall in there I felt comfortable changing in. First off let me just say that I worked in retail for nearly 10 years, and have never experienced such amazing customer service! I came in looking for a dress to wear to a wedding, that's next week, naturally. So I was on a bit of a time crunch. I found one that was perfect in the BCBG department, but it was a size too small. Barb, emailed 40 stores to find a size that would work for me! It was a sale dress and not available anywhere, but she was determined to find me the dress, and she did! A store in Chicago, where the sales associate (Esther, from Orland Square) called to me, took my info, and had it mailed out the next day. She also picked out a pair of earring to bump my total up, making me eligible for free shipping. I am amazed by how much work was put in just to make one small sale, on a discounted dress! I love the options and prices here as well as the atmosphere. That's where the compliments end, unfortunately. I recently purchased a suit: blazer, slacks, dress shirt, and tie. Everything fit great and looked even better. I bought the suit for an interview for a promotion at my place of business. To my surprise the next day (at 6:30am as I'm getting ready for work to wear this ensemble) I noticed that the security tag was not removed from the dress shirt. This was an extreme inconvenience and my anxiety went up a couple of notches. I had to wear the shirt tucked in all day, security tag in tow. I also had to go straight to my interview after work and had this on me the whole time. Quite the discomfort on a day I didn't need any other distractions. After my interview, I came back to the store to see what could be done. They removed the tag, only to reveal an enlarged hole where the tag was and a brownish, circular stain from the metal of the tag. They didn't have the same shirt in my size in stock, and instead of offering me a gift card or to ship a new shirt in my size to me, they only gave me $7 off the price I paid for the shirt and sent me on my way by telling me, "Oh, well I hope that stain comes out for you." Really!? What about the hole in the shirt!? Or how about the time and gas money I had to waste? I live on the east side of Milwaukee, so a one way trip to this location is usually a thirty minute trip. So that's an hour out of my day just to travel back to this location, as well as the gas money it took to do. The amount they took off the shirt doesn't even cover my time or gas money I had to spend just to get the darn tag removed. I would have given a 1 star, but you get two only because I've usually had good experiences here before. This time, however, was borderline ridiculous and as a result, I may not be coming back to this location, unfortunately. read more

During vacation euphoria while shopping in San Fransisco, I became a fan of Macy's. I signed up for a credit card and bought so much I had to ship it home. I then frequented my local store. Sure, it was no SFO flagship but it was solid, decent. But oh, Macy's Mayfair - what happened? I get it - department stores are dying... 'bricks and mortar' are limping along, but seriously, you could have responded in a better way. The vintage 70's 'bargain basement' was off putting, but I soldiered through only to find a desolate wasteland of randomly placed furniture where once was housewares. Again, who still buys fancy china, but some attention to lighting merchandising the furniture would have went a long way. Ah, but then what you've done to plus sizes? You've always hidden us away like the proverbial red-headed stepchild but now it's even worse...We're crammed into department that's semi- chock full of generic, cheap offerings. Ah well - maybe accessories, shoes will be better? Nope. So, I headed out into the mall (you see, I needed some things for winter) and ended up at Talbots, J.Jill and eventually Boston Store where I caved to opening a credit card (for the discount, natch) and left with a bag of winter clothes, then stopped by Nordstrom on my way out for accessories. I am 5' 1" tall, and I recently moved to Wauwatosa from Pennsylvania. I like the convenience of Mayfair Mall, which is close to home. However I was disappointed to learn that this Macy's does NOT have a Petites section!!! I searched the whole store and finally asked an associate, who said they did't have one. Yesterday, I had one of the worst customer service experiences in my life! I returned some merchandise I ordered online to the Macy's on Mayfair in Wauwatosa, WI. I had all of my receipts & all the tags was on my merchandise. You'd think that would be easy but NO the customer service representative (a black older lady with glasses whose name tag said LISA) gave me total attitude! Lisa was unprofessional, rude and just had a nasty disposition! Lisa was very short & condescending when speaking to me about the total that would be adjusted back to my credit card. I asked her why was she giving me attitude for returning merchandise & she totally dismissed me & called the next customer. If this is Macy's representation I can understand why they are closing stores! I left there feeling like I will never return to Macy's again! read more

I miss Marshall fields! This macys (and any macys in general) just doesn't offer very much that interests me. The only area that is ok is housewares . Clothes are crummy quality for the price and selection is dismal at best. I cannot wait until Nordstrom opens the Milwaukee market needs a higher end store- people want it, just because we live in Wisconsin doesn't mean we don't want high quality clothes by name brand designers!
