I've never had anyone come up to help me while shopping but I appreciate not being bothered while looking around. It can be difficult to find someone at a checkout register but you're likely to find someone by dresses or shoes. Though this place is pricier, it always reminds me of the old days and walking through a department store for various things. They have a good selection of nicer dresses for formal events and a good selection of everything else on the higher end.

There is also a small men's selection and a great selection of purses if your looking for a name brand purse and not name brand price and they are such good quality you wouldn't know some of them were even used!

I feel like lately we've had more luck in the men's department than women's. One of my main gripes is that all of their clothes seem to be designed for someone who is at least 5'8. As someone who is shorter, I can't wear any of their maxi dresses or skirts. A few garments I also had to put down because they just looked cheaply made, which I know is probably the case but they have some really thin fabric. Again, the store itself is great but the selection is difficult for my size at 5'1.

I adore Lela -…read moreI've shopped there frequently in the last several years and always had a top-notch experience with service and merchandise - used and new. However, my most recent experience was not good and hopefully it was a one-off. I stopped in to browse on a Saturday. I did not recognize any of the women working there (4 ladies), which is unusual because there's usually someone I'm familiar with. Anyhow, I was in the store for probably 15-20 minutes and no one greeted me, no one asked if I needed any help (even though one staff person was right beside me a few times putting clothes back on the rack). At first I was surprised and thought that I should say something to them, like "hey how are you doing" etc. However, they never stopped talking amongst the 4 of them - so much so that if I had said anything I would have felt like I was interrupting them! It was very disappointing and unusual - they didn't even take time to say have a good day or anything when I left. There was a Desigual t-shirt that I wanted to try on and purchase but I decided I wasn't going to give them my business since I had felt unwelcome and ignored. I went home and ordered online. Like I said, hopefully this was a one-off and they were all just having an off day.

His style, knowledge, and customer service are second to none. After entering the store, he effortlessly greets you and makes you feel instantly comfortable in a store filled with such beautiful clothing. The part I enjoyed the most was his management of my custom clothing order. He educated me on the benefits of clothing made "just for me". He took the time to show me so many beautiful fabrics, models I could select, and most importantly, measure and create a pattern just for me! It didn't stop there; he called when they arrived, met me at the store, and had the pieces ready for me to try on in the dressing room. I stepped out, and he had the tailor waiting to examine the fit with me. I felt like a million bucks. I've never experienced this level of service anywhere before. Stan's has the old-school charm of bygone era department stores with modern options for work,…read moreathletic and casual wear. This isn't grandma's shoe store. Or maybe it is, she'd love it. But us middle aged and younger folks will also enjoy it. Why? Because the staff actually helps you find shoes that fit correctly. I was here many moons ago to buy work shoes. Something professional yet comfortable. And flat, since I can't wear heels. By golly, they found me a Goldilocks shoe that I never would have located on my own. I bought 3 more pair after that as they wore out, no need to change perfection. So here I am, years later, looking for a comfortable, supportive casual shoe to help alleviate my pain. I was asking for a lot, but the gentleman who helped me found the perfect shoe. I wanted to cry, my feet immediately felt like they were being hugged by clouds. The staff at Stan's did it again. Now, it's not magic. It's having someone who helps to find your actual correct shoe size. For 20 years I have just assumed I was an 11 or 10.5, sometimes wide, depending on the brand. Turns out that I've been purchasing shoes a half size too large. I used to love a slightly roomier shoe, I thought that's how it should be. But my recent two pair that I have purchased have literally saved me. They are the correct size, they offer actual support, and they have a generous cushion to them. My knee and foot pain have gone from an 8-10 down to an occasional 2-3. Will Stan's work a miracle for your feet? Possibly. If you've been buying the wrong size forever like I have. But in general I have only had positive experiences here and so far zero complaints. As far as price goes, I have found them to offer the exact same price as I would have paid buying directly from the shoe maker online. For example, buying from Hoka directly costs the same as buying from Stan's. The difference is having them now versus waiting on shipping. Stan's will have occasional sales, but I have not compared pricing for those. So when it comes to value I'd say that yes, Stan's is of comparable value.
