I've never had anyone come up to help me while shopping but I appreciate not being bothered while looking around. It can be difficult to find someone at a checkout register but you're likely to find someone by dresses or shoes. Though this place is pricier, it always reminds me of the old days and walking through a department store for various things. They have a good selection of nicer dresses for formal events and a good selection of everything else on the higher end.

Oddly I watched them greet others and ask if they needed help. I was totally astounded that while they walked by me, they never said hi, can I help you...nada...nothing. After 15 minutes I put the things I was going to try up and left. I'm not high maintenance but I expect someone to at least say hello if I'm going to spend money with them. I am sure I will find a similar store in the Milwaukee area with customer service. I am a stickler for kindness and helpfulness...it is a principle thing.

But I'm not here to review purchased items, I'm here to review the company's Port Washington store. Located on the southern end of the downtown strip, this store has a "woodsey" feel. There is much more product in the store than I initially anticipated and one could spend a fair amount of time browsing everything from womens and mens apparel to dog accessories to cook books to candies. There are many unique items that make fun gifts for relatives and friends; I often come here to find something for that hard-to-shop-for person. I have been in this store many times and it is always clean and well organized. The associates are friendly. However, a strange phenomenon occurs in this space. Time does not seem to exist. Not for the customers, not for the employees, just not at all. Ever. Don't get me wrong, the calm atmosphere is relaxing and I dont enjoy the hustle and bustle ever. It's often a neccessary evil. However, it should not take 40 minutes to make a simple exchange with 2 cashiers and a customer at each register. When an older lady tried to cut in front of me in line, after I waited all that time, I nearly lost my cool. The snail's pace is my only issue about this store. I do reccomend checking it out if you are in the area, and definitely for a unique gift item. Just know that it isn't a store you can just run in and run out.

Just needing a couple last minute gifts, this was a relatively quick in-and-out trip, but I was able to find what I was looking for and get in and out in a short amount of time, another goal achieved! Like most TJ Maxx stores, you aren't likely to interact with anyone on the sales floor, so either find it yourself or assume they do not have it, but as far as Maxx outlets go, you certainly could do worse than the Menomonee Falls outlet.

I was pleasantly surprised that they clothes that fit and the salesperson, Gretchen, was super helpful and made me feel welcome. I ended up purchasing several shirts and will definitely be back.
