I'm a new member. I usually go to the Torrance facility and I always get a skilled, professional masseuse. I've had two so far at the Orange facility and I was disappointed times two. I hate having to write this bc they were so nice but it seems like they spend more time adjusting the sheets and rolling around in the seat that it turns my 80 min massage into 60. I might be exaggerating a little bit but not much, lol. Also, we shouldn't have to be asked to leave a gratuity at check out. If we want to leave a gratuity, we'll ask you. I noticed a lot of a younger crowd here (early 20s) - good for them prioritizing their wellness - I guess price point works for them too. And sadly maybe a lot of then, they do not know what is good versus atrocious. But, this is a place where one could leave with some serious skin and/or health issue, it is that bad. i was with MDs here. never again. i had 4 services here and each one was SO terrible (too chatty, bad services. it was painful all around). i found the slippers, towels, robes, showers - even the lockers/seating/walls/toilets/sinks/flooring - NOTHING was clean, just smelly/nasty - much less the amenities and pooled water/all seating. do not waste your money like i did. just YUCK. also why did they have like: zero q-tips, any product, disposable combs - like very basic items any spa always has. like even equinox has this stuff. Also their AC is always broken (we rescheduled twice due to their broken AC - they called us. guess what, we showed up - STILL NO AC it was stifling) so they bring in these loud industrial huge fans. nothing seems/smells clean (say 'green products'...). sadly, so many of the employees sound SO sick with heavy wet coughs/colds. they seem to hate their lives. and there is zero food. lucky to get water if it is not empty. too bad because it could be a nice place if they cleaned, cared, had good services. basic upkeep, and did not let in a gazzilion guests at a time. So much better to pay more at another spa and not contract some serious health issue here. i still tipped well because the employees seem so miserable and overworked/clueless, yet polite. but i want to warn others - do not repeat my mistake by going here (even if someone sends you for free, get a refund, or try a different location). read more

This just goes to show how much one little mistake without an apology can change the whole experience for someone. I came here to treat myself and celebrate my birthday but I ended up feeling dismissed and not acknowledged as I was waiting for my massage that was supposed to happen at 9:00am and if I didn't end up going to the front desk (around 9:05) asking when I was going to get called in I don't think anyone would have checked on me. No apology from the front. I kept seeing the other gentlemen who arrived after me getting called, so I was quite frustrated that I drove all the way from San Diego, arrived 30 minutes early and was not attended. Now, the front desk ladies were nice and friendly upon arrival. Mike, the guy who was giving me a tour was friendly at first but as soon as he was notified that I was still waiting for my massage therapist he came and got me saying that the massage therapist was looking for me, and no apology from him as well just a bit of awkward silence. Now the massage therapist, again no apology from her-- the massage itself was great, and I definitely enjoyed the cleanliness of the men's area along with the amenities, but as I mentioned from the beginning it just takes one mistake and no apology to ruin what could of been a great experience. My husband planned the sweetest Valentine's Day surprise at Burke Williams, and it was exactly what I needed after a long, busy week. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt special. We were greeted with macaroons, cider, and a beautiful trail of rose petals, which set the tone for a relaxing and romantic evening. We both booked 60-minute massages, and they were incredible. It was the perfect reset for our bodies and minds. After my massage, I spent about 10 minutes in the eucalyptus steam room and then 15 minutes in the sauna. I usually hit the jacuzzi too, but I didn't want to take a second shower, so I skipped it this time. My husband spent about 20 minutes in the sauna and followed it up with the cold plunge, which he said was the perfect way to end the experience. We wrapped up the night sitting by the fireplace for about 15 minutes before heading out to a late dinner. We spent a little over $500 with tax and tip, and honestly, it was worth every dollar. OMG what an amazing place. I can't boast enough about Burke Williams however...the prices here has gotten super ridiculous. I used to be a member once upon a time. But with the prices continuing to increase it was hard to continue paying those fees. I was a member when they were first $79. And have stopped and came back on, each time I did they would inform me the prices were increasing yet again. This last time was it for me. I really love the spa here although I don't utilize it half the time. I'm mainly here for my massage. I will have to tell you it's a hit or miss here. Sometimes the massages are incredible and sometimes it's just eh. Sometimes you ask the techs to increase the pressure, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Overall experience was kind of meh. I was there to get a 65min facial gifted to me. And in March they had one free add on svc from a choice of 5. My facialist was very experienced but too light of a touch. More pressure on massage portions would have been more therapueutic. This was pricey and not a luxe spa experience. The other guests large parties of women are loud and talkative. IT WAS WAY TOO CROWDED. No where to hang your robe. The slippers are not comfortable. A woman was on her cell phone too. They left wet towels all over the lounge chairs and room and did not pick up after themselves.The lemonade was empty bc its a favorite I guess. There are no snacks like nuts or chocolates or bananas. Only apples. I was promised an orange and it did get delivered to me after asking 2x. The temp is jacuzzi is not hot enough. Too loud all the rambunctious women in large parties. I wasnt able to relax at all. It was actually stressful to me. There are very few chairs by the jacuzzi. The chilled ice towels are too tiny in size a small square. Hard to wrap around my neck. Small steam room - not hot enough temp wise. Same for dry sauna. Not sure the purpose of the misting shpwer room. The facial was good - happy w the results. But they dont tell u that u shouldnt go into steam room or wash your face after a facial. So i didnt really get to enjoy all the facilites much after my facial. Due to hunger I just left early. The place was too loud and crowded anyways. I think there are better relaxation spas and more of a luxe vibe in other places. Overall the total experience was mid. Waited a Year to Return...Still Disappointed . I waited an entire year before returning to Burke Williams, hoping the service would be better. Unfortunately, it wasn't. My facial with Brook was horrible. Nothing about the experience felt relaxing. Years ago when I had a facial here, the esthetician gave an amazing foot and neck massage that made the treatment feel luxurious and worth the price. This time was the complete opposite. Brook rubbed hot lotion on my feet for maybe 30 seconds and moved on. She placed my hands in an ointment plastic bags without massaging it in evenly. At one point she randomly smeared cream on my lips with no warning and didn't even apply it properly. The whole service felt rushed and careless. For a spa that markets itself as a luxury experience, this was extremely disappointing. I waited a year to give Burke Williams another chance, and sadly the experience was even worse than before. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the quality of service no longer reflects the luxury experience you advertise. read more

With the vanity area and lockers all in the same page as the spa, it is kinda tight quarters but I do like the sectioned vanity area. All I can say is NEVER buy the gift cards here. I was told the intended receiver of the gift would be able to walk in an simply give their name. They were never able to find the reservation and told me tough luck with no accommodation. Spa was clean with fresh cucumbers lemon infused ice water, along with towels on ice. The eucalyptus room was amazing, so much steam I couldn't even see (perfect)! Shampoo/conditioner/luxurious skincare. Blow dryers. Private showers. I received a facial from Emily. It was out of this world! After 8 years I still frequent this spa. Thru the years and different management it has changed alot . I miss some stuff like frozen grapes and more snack options but the fruits they offer are still good and love the irs he juice in the lounge . I do wish they monitored the jacuzzi more . Everytime i go people are having very loud conversations in the spa and im trying to relax so thats always a bummer. I usually have to put a towel over my face and try to cover my ears a little to try to relax in peace . I go here to get a break from my kids , so the last thing I want is to be in a loud place . I have seen the ladies working in the spa tell people to quiet down , but sadly no one really listens from what I've seen. Most time they aren't told to keep it down . Request help from the attendants for different sizes. Take a shower, enjoy the sauna, steam room. Eat the apples & bananas. Drink some spa fruit-infused water. Cool yourself with the mint infused face towels. They have lotion, shavers, moisturizer with spf, hair ties, plastic baggies, mouthwash, etc. There's also an area to blow dry, style hair, and put on makeup. To avoid large crowds (and possibly loud people), go during weekdays or weeknights. Prices vary on what service you get but they often have gift card specials & even Costco gift card deals. Since physical therapy is available, with a doctor's orders, you can use FSA or HSA funds. Husband gets monthly massages & notices that the side for men are often less busy & at times, he is able to have the place to himself. I always get facials & since I'm not too particular, I get random aestheticians. Some are better than others. The thing I've noticed through the years & appreciate is that they've really decreased the obnoxious sales pressure during treatments (extra add-ons, upgrades, recommendations, etc.). As I stepped in I was promptly checked in and walk into the waiting room where an associate give you a quick tour of the place. The highest membership gives enough credit to get an 85 minute massage which is perfect for me. The two times ive been have been pretty good. The therapists have been accommodating with my treatments with mixing in a sports massage with the deep tissue so I can have better hip mobility. The facilities are pretty nice with the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and cold deluge. I recommend coming much earlier than your appointment to take advantageof the facilities before your treatment. The sauna and steam room really helped me my stretching and warming up my muscles before getting a massage. My favorite thing to do is going from the cold deluge to the jacuzzi to wake myself up and i heard is good for you. If you need recs on a therapist i recommend both Susie and Candace! Update.... Got back from being out of town and had a message from the manager Lee and she truly went above and beyond and created an amazing member experience for her patrons including myself. Thank you Lee for showing what true Customer Service is about. I have realized that the in store member experience is definitely a 5 star, and the call center not so much. This was my second issue (first one was very minor) and both times the in store representatives came through shining. They have the worst customer service around. They screwed up on my booking and scheduled me the wrong day and then charged me a no show for almost 200.00. Not only did they charge me for the service, but charged me for add ons for services that were not provided. Their service to their members is non existent and I would never recommend signing up for service with them after this experience. I have cancelled my membership after 2 years and will not recommend them at all. Do better Burke Williams. If you do take your chance with this place I highly recommend Sadie, she is the best! I also chose a different day and time when it's less crowded and quiet, where I felt a lot more comfortable not wearing a swimsuit and enjoyed alone time in the spa. Sauna has unavoidable metal screws in the benches so when you sit on the bench with just a bathing suite you will be very uncomfortable if you get in contact with them. I burned the back of my thighs on the screws and left small blisters. I'm surprised that the cavities are not filled in with glue or wood or something. I'd recommend you sit on a towel in there. After my amazing massage with Tatiana, learned there's no hot water for showers, or for Wet Room shower treatments. Wwhhaatt??? No hot water at a spa. Girls were actually screaming taking cold showers and everyone was upset! So ok had to miss a meeting since I was all oily and I couldn't shower there. Last 2 months problems with Cold Mist room misters not functioning, out of service for many days, got rid of Mani& Pedi services as well. So nice to have those and not feel rushed like in most nail places! This membership program is VERY misleading! Members are required to pay a monthly fee, yet if a service cannot be scheduled within a given period due to personal or scheduling constraints, the associated "benefits" expire. I was told that an extension would have to be submitted but there was no guarantee the extension would be honored. My concern is not with this specific location, but with the Burke Williams Day Spa membership program as a whole. Additionally, when I requested to cancel my membership, I was informed that a 30-day notice is required. As a result, I will be charged for an additional month while being ineligible to receive my last service at the membership rate during that time. Given these circumstances, I find the membership structure to be extremely unreasonable and misleading, and I intend to review the contract terms further with my attorney. I would not recommend this membership AT ALL based on my experience. read more

The spa is beautiful. I don't think it's private enough. I had a wonderful massage from Elvoy On my check-in, I was asked for a credit card and ID. My daughter had made the reservation as a gift to me and her credit card was already on file. I arrive at 2 o'clock, which is suggested that you arrive an hour before your appointment. The lady at the front desk said would call me at 3 clock. I was just standing there, and then I said, why was it suggested that I come an hour early. Then she said oh, we can give you a tour of the Spa. She never said that I would be able to use any of the amenities. The person that came to give me the tour did not speak English very well, so I couldn't understand what she was saying but she was very nice. I got the key to the locker room, which is very open and not private as far as taking your clothes off. There were beautiful, white fluffy robes and slippers in the locker. I had to ask if I was able to use the Sauna and steam room which was very nice. This should have been communicated at the front desk. I didn't use the Jacuzzi because too many people were in it. After using the sauna and steam room, I went to the lounge area where they had tea, lemon water and cookies. At 3 o'clock Elvoy came to get me. I had the most wonderful 65 minute massage. I've been getting massages for a very long time and this was one of the best. I think the locker room is way too open and it should be more private. While getting undressed workers are standing around and talking about their bad relationships, which is unprofessional. I was not happy with the front desk. When I checked out instead of them putting the service on my daughter's credit card they were going to put it on my credit card. I mentioned to the young lady to charge it to my daughter's card that was on file because it was a gift. She wanted to argue with me in front of the guest and insisted that they were going to put it on my Black card anyway. It made me feel uncomfortable about payment . I actually had to call my daughter to come to the spa. She came and they tried to say that she didn't have a credit card on file. How was that possible if she made a reservation. I felt the young lady was rude, not knowing what she was doing and made me feel uncomfortable in front of the guest about a credit card not being on file. plus people that came behind me was not asked for their ID or a credit card. The front desk was not friendly and needs more training. . I give my massage 4.5 stars, but the establishment itself three stars because of the front desk staff. I also don't like the fact that they tell you to give them massage therapist a 20% tip which I gave 25%. For what they charge, I feel that I should've had better treatment. Locating this Burkes Williams Day Spa was super easy, with plenty of free parking. As you walk into their facility, you encounter an amazing aroma with displays of different products they sell... The front desk employees were very inviting, and the lady who gave us a tour of the facility was very nice and helpful... In most places of the Spa, having a phone is rightfully prohibited so I couldn't take photos of all the amazing amenities they had... Since I had told them at the time I made the appointment, it was my friend's Birthday, they surprised her with a cute chocolate display and birthday card in her locker...My friend was so excited, everybody around her got excited too when they saw her card and chocolates... It is worth mentioning that the entire facility is spotless and the employees are constantly, replenishing everything from towels, to chilled water, fruits and etc! My massage therapist, Riley did an amazing job. She listened to all my needs/wants and concentrated in those areas..My friend was very happy with her massage therapist too... Where do I even start! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with kind energy and felt so welcomed, I had a massage and a facial lined up which was 10/10. I got to soak in the hot tub beforehand along with the steam room and sauna! I felt like a princess lol afterwards I got to shower and blow dry my hair and do my make up to take on the rest of my day!
