On June 7th, I brought a friend who was visiting from Washington to get IV therapy with me. We were offered a private room, and the staff was attentive at the start of our visit. However, after our second IV bags were connected, neither of us was checked on again. Both my friend and I fell asleep during treatment. I eventually woke up because I needed to use the restroom and pressed the call button multiple times before someone responded. When the nurse came in, she noticed my IV bag was empty and so was my friends . Once the lights were turned on, I could see a significant amount of blood had backflowed into the tubing approximately 12 inches from my arm. When the IV was disconnected, blood also got onto the pillow beneath my arm. I was told this was "normal" and the situation was laughed off, which left me feeling uneasy. After speaking with a nurse friend, I learned that while the blood backflow itself is generally not harmful, it can happen when an IV bag is allowed to run dry and isn't disconnected promptly. What concerns me most is not the blood in the tubing, but that neither of us was checked on after the second bag was hung. Had I not repeatedly pressed the call button, I'm not sure how much longer we would have been left unattended. I've always had wonderful experiences here, which is why this stood out so much. My hope is that this feedback helps improve monitoring, especially for guests placed in private rooms. A simple check-in and a more professional response would have gone a long way.

I went in for a…read moreconsultation and got talked into getting a dermabrasion facial and was told I'd probably need 10 to clear up my skin. I was told as well that my skin would get worst but slowly get better as I had facials. Well it definitely got worst after the first one. Vivella has a cancellation policy where you need to cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment. That being said, for my second facial they e-mailed me I believe a day or two before my next appointment to confirm. They then emailed me the night before my appointment to cancel. I didn't see it till the next morning and came to my appointment anyways and waited outside for maybe half an hour before I checked my email. The following time Mary who did my one facial and consolations came late and talked me out of getting a facial. Once again my skin was pretty bad and said I didn't need it. I honestly think she just didn't want to do it. I ended up never coming back and ended up going on acutane, against her advice, and my skin has never looked better (with some scaring still but no acne or redness). Vivella has been very unprofessional in how they handle their clients by forgetting about them and emailing last minute when their clients have to pay a fee to cancel their appointments in advance. Service wise I couldn't really say because I never completed my treatments but unprofessional in how they conduct their business.

She was nice initially till she realized I had a Groupon. Her whole demeanor changed. When I was paying for the treatment, the secretary asked if she should schedule a follow up, and the injector said no need she has a Groupon. For background, I have used botox before and received it in Korea at a skincare clinic. I loved the results then and thought it would be similar to that treatment. In Korea, they cleanse and numb your face prior to treatment. They also show you the bottle before they draw it into the needle. At skin perfect brothers, she turned her back to me and didn't show me that it really was botox. It could have been dysport for all I know. She rubbed a Vaseline type cream on my forehead without wiping it clean and just started injecting (after marking my muscle movement). Its only been 5 days, and we'll see in 2 weeks at its full development. I wanted an annual visit there, but after that treatment... I'm good. They did text me to see if I was happy with it. I'll find out in 2 weeks and let them know.

It felt like they were trying to upsell me. When I politely requested a refund of my $150 deposit, I was denied, being told it was a fee just to see the practitioner. I wasn't trying to be difficult, so I asked about other alternatives, like using the deposit toward a facial. But when I inquired, I was told it would be another $80--so in total, $229. At that point, I didn't want to give this place any more of my money. Looking back, the biggest red flag (that I wish I caught sooner) was the lack of transparency with their pricing. Other med spas are upfront about what their services cost, which is much more honest. I understand it's a business, but this experience left me feeling misled and out $150 for nothing. I won't be returning.

So I reached out to Groupon to see if there were any other options, and they suggested reaching out to the Spa direct for a credit since that's their policy for expired vouchers. I then texted the salon and was met with a rude response. (See texts below). She offered me an hour service at 75.00 without the Groupon credit and with the credit it'd be an additional 109.00, which didn't make sense financially. So I asked her to explain. She then called me, with an extremely rude tone, and started speaking to me like I was a nuisance for asking for a price breakdown. She told me Groupons were an add on and not the actual price which I didn't understand. Why would I know the behind the scenes policies that are in place? She said "do you get it", I said I don't I'm sorry. She then replied, "I'm not accepting an expired Groupon so have a good day ". And hung up in my face. She was so unnecessarily rude for me asking an honest question. Do better LuLu. Customer service is a huge plus for a successful business and you completely missed the mark. You should treat customers with more kindness and respect. This issue has been escalated with Groupon, thankfully. This experience was awful. And look at the response below, "I knew you were a problem because you said an hour"?! Excuse me, it was a mistake, which I owned and apologized about. You're a rude person, it's very evident.

One special thing to note is if you book a service that's at least an hour, you receive a complimentary foot soak as long if you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. This was a nice touch. When I arrived, Cristina, from the front desk walked me to their quiet room, which has the ultimate relaxation vibes. She was amazing! She had my foot soak ready to go, along with a heated neck wrap and a blanket. On top of that, she made me a delicious vanilla chamomile tea, accompanied by a chocolate. A literal pampering angel. My facial was done by Chasity. She was also so nice and she gave me plenty of time to change and get comfortable in the spa bed. She listened to my skin concerns and tailored the products for my face. Throughout my appointment, she explained each step of the facial. At one point I was so relaxed, I fell asleep. I arrived early since you typically have to fill out a questionnaire prior to facials. Sandy, the owner, was my esthetician. My appointment was for 4:30pm but her previous client wasn't done until 4:40pm and then we chatted a bit about my options until about 4:50pm since they had no menu and their website is a bit outdated. She explained to me that Kawehi Skin is a customized experience so she usually looks at her clients' skin and then discuss the recommendations and let the customer decide how to proceed. I communicated that I would prefer a menu so I know what I am paying for, but at the same time I can tell Sandy was very caring and was being genuine about her service. I felt very conflicted since I usually like things defined. But she reassures me that the business is transitioning to new menus and they will completely revamp their services soon. So we proceed with my facial and my skin was definitely dry. We did 2 cleanses, steam, enzymes to digest the dead skin cells, a calming mask in parallel with a shoulder massage, microdermabrasion, and then moisturizing drops at the end. This was about an hour for $95. Sandy mentions that the services here aren't timed. In theory it is sweet that they take all the time they need on the client... but in practice that means they can be running late to their next appointment. For the record, the value was really fair for the services and upgrades I decided on. Also there is a sign out front that says "Credit Card transactions are subject to a 2.75% fee." I don't mind paying a fee, but I wished someone would have mentioned it prior so I could have went and got cash. And also I did not like a percent. It's fair to me if the business charge the flat rate that the bank charges them -- but I like advanced notice. I asked Sandy if a debit card counts as a credit card. To her credit, Sandy did not charge me the transition charge since it was my first visit. I'm not taking away any points for this since my fee was waived, but I feel like it is important for the business and patrons to be aware. Sandy was very sweet and I enjoyed her service. They are super close to work and the prices are fair. However I can't give them a 5 star when my appointment start time was late and the menu and prices are so undefined. I plan to come back when they have their menus up and business model revamped. I would be more than happy to give them that 5 stars when they earn it.
