The last time I drove back to Portland from Mt. Hood, I was reminded of how much I love Burgerville. Great shakes, especially in the summer! I was also clued in recently that the yogurt smoothie is nearly as good as the shake and I was dubious at first. But it's true. Why is my cheeseburgers cheese never melted all the way!? You can't beat Burgerville for a burger. The fry sauce on the burger! Yum!! Also, their milkshakes & customer service. I don't know what changed about this location, but no longer offering large options, charging the same or more for less food, and having terrible customer service that is aloof and disrespectful = no more of my business. I was compelled to write a review of this Burgerville because of my overwhelming disappointment. When I first moved to OR from the Midwest I was excited to see how close I lived to this mysterious burger franchise that looked like an In-n-Out. My first surprise was the prices realizing this place was much more expensive than most burger joints. I ordered some kind of pepper cheeseburger which was dry and completely underwhelming. The second time I went there they gave me a BURNT bun! Like not charred but the top bun was missing a huge black chunk because it burnt off. The third time was a year later in hopes that they somehow learned how to make a burger that would justify that price. Nope - some seasonal cheeseburger that was dry, flavorless, tasting mostly of red onion. They also either gave me the wrong drink or the syrup was gone and they had not replaced it. Fries were terrible. Shakes weren't bad but too thick for my taste. I don't plan on returning to this location and would honestly rather have McDonalds. read more

I know, I know you never get a salad from a fast food joint, but I guess this time I decided to get one, after I got it I immediately regretted my decision. the salad tasted stale but I had also got a strawberry milkshake, which was nice because I personally think they have the best ones and thats what I had used to take out the salads taste out of my mouth. no disrespect to Burgerville love ya'll but never getting a salad from any fast food joint. First time in Oregon and Burgerville was given to me as a recommendation. The burgers are just OK and the fries are just fries. The Shakes on the otherhand are fantastic. If you're looking for something quick, give them a shot...if nothing else get a milkshake. read more

Burgerville used to be my favorite fast food place. Since they recently changed the menu, I don't feel like they're any better than dairy queen. The chicken tenders are generic, like every other place now and they don't have a very big of a variety of shakes as they used to. The only good things there are the onion rings and the fish sandwich now. Very disappointing. read more

Oregon grown fresh food is delectable but the wait was over ten minutes on a Saturday afternoon and the kids working here seemed overwhelmed and as a result unfriendly. Don't stop here if you're in a hurry. However, I will say the food is so much better than your typical "fast food" burger joint that it's hard to pass up. I love they support locally grown products, offer vegetarian fare and have gluten free options. Pretty cool stuff. If they could improve their customer service this place would be the goods. read more

This place is an absolute joke, even for a fast food restaurant. We went through the drive through there last night just to get my wife a diet coke. The girl who took our order apparently didn't like the fact that we only ordered a coke and no food because when I gave our order she said in a really snotty voice, "Oh. That's weird." It took forever to get us through the drive through line and when we did finally get to the front of the line, we told the guy who handed us our food what the girl (who turned out to be the MANAGER) had said. The first thing he did was start laughing about it. Then when he saw how mad we were, he pulled himself together and offered us a really insincere apology. Went here today, and I must say I am very disappointed. I ordered three of the Walla Walla onion rings, at a very steep cost of $1.39 each. Yes, that's EACH onion ring. I was served three black onion rings, which I immediately sent back. I was told that this was the season where they serve them black and burned. What in the world are they talking about? They begrudgingly brought me out another order which were even more black than the first order! They said oh well that's how it is, we can't cook them any better. How about turning the heat down on the grease, or changing the grease, or taking them out before they burn? All of these are valid ways to fix the problem, but no attempt from the workers here. Avoid this place! I should have got my money back, they are certainly not a cheap place to eat. I will not be back. read more

If i could give 0 stars or .5 stars I would. I went there tonight and ordered food for an adult foster care facility. And the staff informed me that i needed to show ID because my order was over $25 at the window. This is a business I am ordering for, there is no way to verify the card by ID verification. I informed the staff I'll pay with my own card. I than told them they needed to post signs if that is truly a policy. I will not be coming to this location anymore or any burgerville for that matter if that truly is a company policy. The food isn't worth the cost if u order 2 meals and its over $25 anyway. I can go to a true sit down restaurant and get more for less. Been a longtime customer of this franchise. Now I will be giving my business to other franchises who are worth the price my hard earned money pays for. read more

My first time coming here, I was excited after reading reviews and talking to people. Roll up to the drive thru and was happy to see quite more of a selection of veggie burgers than I had expected. I have to admit though, I was mostly excited to try these walla walla onion rings that I have heard people rave about. My excitement quickly vanished when I was told they did not have any onion rings. After I was finished ordering and I was given my total, I couldn't believe my ears. Appearenly $3.40 is added onto your meal for sweet potato fries. After receiving my food, I was however surprised by the amount of sweet potato fries there was! They were just how I want my sweet potato fries. My Yukon Bean Burger however, the tomato was not at all ripe, and though the basil gave it a good flavor, it was very dry. It was decent, but I expected better, especially for the price I paid. Maybe it was just the location I tried. I will give this place another chance though. read more

Food is great, most all of the staff is fantastic here. I attend collage near by and come here often. Sadly today I came in to eat after tests all day. When I'm confronted by a very rude person handling the front counter. Not only rude, he said no more then 2 words to me. When my food arrived at the table he said nothing and tossed the basket down. I'm sitting here now waiting for the manager to complain. He needs to learn customer service. read more

Food is always good at Burgerville however the service varies from place to place. This particular Burgerville on Hogan is horrible. Every single time I've been in here they are disorganized especially during the lunch rush, they just don't have it together at all. I placed my order at the counter with the gentleman. It came to $10.43 all I had was a $20 & a few ones. So I gave him $21, so I wouldn't end up with a bunch of change. He stared at me like I had a third eye in the middle of my forehead then gave me change for $11. He just didn't look at the money that I gave him and/or just assumed I gave him a $10 and $1. I just think people who work in these places should be taught how to count change back. By the time he gave back the change for the second time he ended up giving me $10 and change but couldn't count it back at all. I'm certain he shorted himself buy a few pennies. But still I felt for him. Not his fault he has not been trained. When I said I think you should count it back to me he said I just want this transaction over with. Great attitude!? NOT! I wouldn't work in the fast-food industry for all the money you could give me! But some folks have to... Burgerville management should at least give their employees the tools needed to do the job accurately. read more

I usually don't go into Gresham, but when I go to Burgerville, I generally walk in expecting 3.5 star to 4-star quality and/or service. That said, when I was at the NE Hogan location earlier this week, I was not very impressed. Food was bland, and service was lackluster. When I made a mistake with my order and attempted to correct it (and admittedly, that part was my fault) the cashier (whom I'm hoping was extremely new) informed me that the transaction could not be canceled. Since I had paid with a card, ordering another item would result in an additional charge. Fortunately, a Manager was nearby and showed the Cashier how to void the transaction and ring up a new one. Neither one apologized for the wait/misleading information or thanked me for my business. Some of the staff's aprons were also dirty. read more

ok I recently went to Gresham burgerville ,,and went thru the drive thru ,, no more combo baskets ,, wow which I could not beleave ,, I orderd a tillmonk chese burger a large French fry and a large soft drink ,, I spent over $9.40 ,, way over priced ,, burger was too salty too small ,, ,, the drink was smaller ,,I could have got bigger burger some place else with free French frys some place else,, but not a drink ,, it only cost a business 10-15 cents for the pop ,, sell it for 2-4 dollars ,, unless burgerville has coupons I wont go back,,, who can afford to eat out ,, I will start using my gas grill read more

I hadn't been to a Burgerville in years and I was pleasantly surprised at this one. There were several, low cholesterol/low fat choices on the menu, along with the regular burgers and fries. For example, a turkey burger or appetizing flavored bean burger. Also, you can choose from a smoothie made from non-fat yogurt or shake made from ice cream. Both choices made with delicious local berries. The side salad was crispy and sweet. The order was prepared correctly (no mayonnaise, no cheese on the salad) and served in recyclable paper bags (no styrofoam or hard plastic). The calorie and fat content of the order was printed on the receipt. Burgerville is a great choice compared to run-of-the-mill fast food and is headed in the right direction!! read more

Wow... This place was really in trouble tonight. Their ice cream machine wasn't working, so no shakes or cones. They were down to only 1 working fryer, so everything took forever to make ( don't order fries and chicken at the same time!). We finally got our food only to discover 1/2 mile later that we were missing a chicken sandwich. We went back and they graciously offered to make it... Only there were fries cooking, so it was going to another 7-8 minutes before the sandwich would be done. Now our waffle fries were cold, but that would mean waiting a total of 11 mins for the rest of order! Will not plan to "drive thru" here again! read more

First time ever visiting a Burgerville! My traveling companion had been talking up the sustainability of their ingredients and the yummy seasonal strawberry shakes, so we stopped on our way back into Portland. The shake did not disappoint. Super-appreciated the availability of gluten-free buns, etc., and especially of the employee's knowledge and forthrightness of the potential cross-contamination because the toaster is used for both wheat and GF buns. Props for knowledge about celiac's! But the BEST PART? Counterguy and funnyman KYLE! Honestly, ya sort of expect a bland experience - a want-fries-with-that situation - but Kyle cracked us up, offered some suggestions, told us about the shared toaster when we asked for a GF bun, and generally made for a fun experience. The employees all seemed to be having fun, and all seemed to be knowledgable about dietary restrictions and even the schedule for which ingredients were local/when they'd be available. Way to go, Burgerville, for proving that you CAN run a sustainable, local fast foodery! read more
