My husband and I enjoy trying new things every time we visit Duluth and this was definitely one of our tastiest options! I love the decor and ambience of the restaurant. They are located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Duluth which is really becoming one of our favorite spots to check out. We tried Deep-fried Korean Brussels Sprouts, Beef-fat Fries and The Armadillo Bomb burger. The Brussels were sooooooo good! The fries were hot and crispy and I loved the flavor profile of the burger. We went later at night on a weeknight so it wasn't too busy and our food came out super fast and fresh! I wish I had more room to try one of their chicken sandwiches. We will be back the next time we are in that neck of the woods!

We started with the corn ribs, which were way better than I expected. Honestly wasn't sure what to imagine, but they were awesome -- definitely worth trying. I ordered the OG burger, which had great flavor and a fresh bun that held up nicely. Totally on me, but I should've asked for light mustard -- just a bit strong for my taste. Fries were spot on too. My wife ordered the Gochujang Wings and said, "Top 2 wings I've ever had. The combo of both sauces was . Perfectly crispy with a great crunch -- even good cold as leftovers!" Overall, great atmosphere, friendly service, and food that hits the spot. We'll be back next time we're in town!

Fun spot with unique burgers! Our server was friendly and gave personalized recommendations. The wompling with brussel sprouts was the clear winner. We liked the whata-gouda, but it could have used more cheese and wasn't as unique as the wompling.

This place was a total vibe. Big bar and many tables to choose from in the bar area or dinner room. The art work and music brought me back to the 90's. Our waitress mentioned a new wing flavor and the specials. We enjoyed the Wata Gouda burger and the Galaxy burger. You can choose a side with your burger. The French fries are fried in beef fat. Yum! The Brussel Sprouts are the best I ever had! They had a delicious Korean miso sweet sauce topped with Gorgonzola. Ahhhmazing flavor!! If u want a good burger in Duluth, (Lincoln Park n'borhood) come here!!

10/10 experience. Onion rings were perfectly crispy and paired sooo well with every sauce at the table! The burgers were delicious and I'm so glad the server recommended the wompling burger - ive never had a burger like it and wish I could order it all the time! As always the Duluth grill resto group never disappoints. Street parking is available but you may have to walk a bit!

I absolutely fell in love with this place!! The ambiance is pure funk and I am totally down for a place without tv's!! Arrived in DTH for a TDY. Very interesting burgers and adult malts. I got the Wompling with Beef Fat Fries. The fries come with an aioli caddy- ketchup/mustard/mayo, garlic/dill, cilantro/lime/jalapeño, garlic/habanero. Everything was fabulous!! I sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back!

We stopped at Burger Paradox after a long day of work and traveling to Duluth for a mini-vacation. We tried the KBBQ Sprouts and Korean Fried Wings (Gochujang, Garlic Buffalo, and Mango Habanero). Wings are big, and we had leftovers of each. The sprouts and gochujang wings were my favorite, but they were ALL good! Staff are great and super friendly, and the ambiance was really chill. The place was busy but it wasn't loud enough that I couldn't hear my husband, so that was nice, too! Highly recommend and will absolutely be back.

Service was great. Burgers were delicious. And the milkshakes made three young soccer players insanely happy!

Placed an order to go, it was ready about 10 minutes before we made it there so I got the Paul b'onion and picked the chips off and ate those immediately because they were already a bit soggy. Overall the burger was fantastic, even later as leftovers. The Brussel sprouts.... I cannot emphasize this ENOUGH. Get them. You will be sad when they are gone and you DEFINITELY do not want to share... I would go back here every time I stop in Duluth just for the brussel sprouts. Also tried the dragons blood wings, they were good, quite spicy and I also believe they have removed these from their menu, we just got the last of the sauce they had for them :D

I would probably give the food here a 4 or 5 stars. But service gets 2 stars. It was a busy Friday night but we were able to be seated pretty quickly. Server took our order and a bit later our apps came out. We had the mustard chicken wings, which were unique and very tasty. The beef fat frying added incredible flavor. I believe we were maybe supposed to get blue cheese with them, but none was brought. We also had the peruvian cauliflower which was AMAZING but the serving size for $12 left a lot to be desired. Sad because I could have eaten my weight in this. Here's where things went down hill. We sat a long, long time waiting for our burgers (Paul B'Onion for me which was good, a french dip for him which was meh). We watched tables after ours getting their food. Our server came over and wanted us to pay....but we still hadn't gotten our food. She went back to the kitchen and came back with a small plate of fries (which were delicious - especially with the sauces on the table!) and explained that something went wrong and our food would be out shortly. It came and everything was good.... UNTIL. She brought the payment thing over to pay (didn't give us a bill) and we paid + tip + 5% fee (for the kitchen?) A bit of head math and we realized it was super expensive. Checked the email bill and we were charged twice for both our sandwiches. Call the server over and try to get it straightened out. She came back and said the manager had taken the double charges off BUT - she still received a tip on the full bill AND the extra bit of 5% charge. It probably came out to less than $10, but just felt really shady and not how it should have been done (especially since the service wasn't great and she certainly didn't deserve the extra tip!) Watch your bills and you should have a pretty good time here.I

Moreover, I hope the denizens of the Duluth area support this establishment because, as much as I enjoy OMC, Grandma's Canal Park Brewing, this kind of restaurant is needed here. The impetus for the above statement revolves around the absence of chef-driven and curated menus that capitalize on locality, creativity, and seasonality. This restaurant is located just on the other side of I-35. Smack-dab on Superior Street, next to North Shore Tattoo. Entering the establishment, you will see a simple and modestly adorned restaurant that is warm, inviting, and adequately lit. The menu is seasonal and robust with wonderful creations. Think of this as a Mediterranean tapas restaurant with a couple of larger entree-sized sharables. Everything we had was an incredible experience of contrasting flavours and textures. Here is what we had 1. Trio of Dips: You should get this so you don't miss out on the experience of each of these. It is hard to pick a favorite, but the Red Pepper Walnut was incredible. The citrus compote livened up this. The Labneh was quite lovely. More moisture should have been removed, but the selection of herbs atop of the labneh made this pop. The hummus was enjoyable, and had a thicker consistency than I usually have, but it was pretty good. 2. Seared Halloumi - Who doesn't like fried cheese?? The ouzo onions were a terrific addition. Get this one for sure. The hummus was enjoyable, and had a thicker consistency than I usually have, but it was pretty good. 3. Pickled and Stuffed Chard - This was a fun twist on dolmades, and I enjoyed this one. I considered this my salad/vegetable intake for the day :) 4. Braised Rabbit - This was the only disappointment of the whole evening. The leg was flavorful, but it was sooo dry, and I regret not getting the pork. The table next to us got the port, and I was jealous. 5. (Desert )Olive Oil Cake - I was full at this point, but ordered it anyway. It was awesome. You've come this far, order it and thank me later. I really hope the folks of Duluth appreciate this gem in your city, and please support this restaurant.

I started with the Tempura Fried Cauliflower appetizer, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night! You can choose between sambal aioli or crabapple BBQ sauce -- I had the aioli drizzled on top and the crabapple sauce on the side, and it was amazing. I'm not usually into autumn spice flavors, but the crabapple sauce was subtle, slightly smoky, and paired beautifully with the crispy cauliflower. For my entrée, I had the Coconut Curry Bowl. It was flavorful and hearty, though a bit strong and salty for my personal taste. They also offer a kids' menu with generous portions (I've included a photo for reference -- grilled chicken, fries, and veggies). Overall, great vibes, friendly service, and a wonderful cause. We loved supporting a non-profit restaurant dedicated to the arts and community development!

Honestly, they've been there so much for me in the past (when no one else was there, they were) that any one of them could ask me to help them move a heavy ass hot tub, and I would in a heartbeat. The owner, Cade, is THE shit. Just look for the tall guy with the sweet hair and badass button up shirt and you'll know him when you see him. Best part is because he's so cool, all the people he hires to work for him are cool, thus the people that frequent there are cool, so by going there YOU are COOL by association. It's like one big cool club and everyone's invited. The amount of romances and babies that have resulted from ACES ON FIRST is probably what keeps the population of Duluth above the 2.1 children-per-woman needed to prevent a society's extinction. Do yourself a favor and pop in Aces. I know that when I die and I enter the white light, on the other side I'm going to emerge into Aces. Heaven IS a place on Earth...and it's called ACES.
