Having lived in Brentwood area for four years now I still cannot get over the fact how little family friendly restaurants there are here. Don't get me wrong I am a fan of many restaurants nearby but they are not places you can go to on a regular basis-- like a Cheesecake or CPK or Lazy Dog, a handful of restaurants my kids will point out that would almost be automatic default when we dine out. Then we are resorted to fast food places like Habit or Japanese eats in Sawtelle which means 15-20 minutes away around dinner time. Luckily there js Burger Lounge which is conveniently located on San Vicente and Gorham. It is one of 25 locations for this chain that launched in La Jolla which prides itself with mostly organic and sustainable ingredients. Hey the winner is that my kids enjoy eating here. They have a kids meal that is almost adult size and comes with really good fries, a quality drink and a scoop of ice cream. Then there is the shake that always brings out the smiles in my kiddos. The kicker that makes this place five star worthy is the "more full service capacity" at a fast casual restaurant. This requires a special shout out to Teddy who exemplifies this spirit by always greeting my family with a smile and going beyond call of duties to make sure we have an incredible experience- like wiping down the table before we sit down to offering an extra ice cream for my little one. I decided to try the Crispy Queso Hatch Chili Sandwich at Burger Lounge today. I added a Shirley Temple and fries to make it a combo. I've passed by this cool eating spot in Brentwood a few times and enjoyed a meal once or twice. The service and food have always been very good, and the place as clean as a whistle. Interior and exterior dining is available with neighborhood parking on the street if valet is not your style. My to go order was done in around 10-15 minutes. I suspect that the high volume of kids eat free ruined their quality control. The outdoor tables are too exposed to bums and riff-raff. Our first time here and she mentions at 3pm is their happy hour and all the chicken and sides are 1/2 off as well as the beer and wine. She helped us decide what items to get. When asked to honor the promotion, she refused telling us that I should have asked before I ordered. And proceeded to say it was posted on the door- which it wasn't. Hello all I LOVE the Burger Lounge restaurant! The help is always super friendly, the atmosphere is super casual and the burgers are top notch! Grass fed and finished burgers are outstanding and sometimes they have grass fed and finished bison too. It is a more expensive burger being grass fed but it's worth it. They also have chicken, fish and turkey burgers as well as veggie burgers if that's your preference. The fries are yummy and I really love the salads. I usually get a salad with 2 patties on it and it's perfect for me. The manager Jorge is the nicest guy so it's really a win win! read more

I found BurgerLounge through an acquaintance last week was told I had to try the Mushroom Truffle Swiss burger. So...I ordered that, even though I am not a big mushroom fan. And I have to tell you that it is definitely one of the best burgers I have ever tasted in my 69 years on this planet. An earthy exravaganza of flavor that I wanted to last longer but I ate it to fast. Along with this I ordered the Half and Half order of fries and onion rings that were also made to perfection! While I was eating this fantastic meal another couple were raving to the chef about their burgers and the server told us "that happens pretty often!" The order took about 10 minutes The fries were amazing. They were packed and full of potato flavor. The exterior very crispy with light salt and not overly fried. The burger was also delicious. The meat patty was thick, juicy, and full of flavor. I did not like the type of bun as much because it was on the fuller and thicker side. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were fresh and gave a nice crunch. Overall, the food was delicious. My only dislike was just the bun for the hamburger. Looking for good vegan and vegetarian burgers? This is my go to burger place. Ordered plant based lounge burger, the quinoa patty was good. You feel that authenticity in the burger patties which are soft and mildly crispy with their fresh veggies. I was very impressed with this spot even before I got any of their in my mouth. The people that work there are Fantastic and super friendly. They were the type that were Happy to work there... Not ones that simply slough through the motions, counting the minutes until they can leave. They kept smiling and chatted with me throughout the time I waited for my take out. I ended up getting the Husky double burger with added Caramelized Onions (the Caramelized onion add on was a recommendation by the nice gentleman in the yellow jersey top that worked there) and the half fries half onion rings. I ended up taking my food to Will Rogers Park and enjoying the weather, but even after the 15 min drive there, the burger was simply delicious!!! Juicy and perfectly cooked so that it even had some charred parts that crunched when you chomped it down. Not too salty or overly seasoned or sauced... Just delicious. The onion rings were also still plenty crunchy by the time I got to the park. Washed it all down with a bougie ginger beer that had plenty of the ginger spice bite. This is an update to my previous review. The manager kindly reached out to me to make right my disappointment from a previous visit. This speaks volumes about their value of the customer - and I appreciate that mindset. Ordered again tonight (did NOT let them know in advance that this was a re-try) and it didn't disappoint. My husband and I both ordered the Paleo Burger and it was pretty much perfect. It was warm even though it was takeout. All ingredients were fresh. The zucchini was cooked perfectly - crisp tender. We shared some onion rings and I thought they were fantastic. Lightly breaded (seemed like Panko, maybe?) and not too oily. The one thing that would have made it better would be the romaine lettuce served separately from the warm burger... but that's not on the restaurant. I could have asked for that. Lettuce tends to wilt a bit in a hotbox environment. :). Very happy to be able to give a positive review for this place and will return. read more

Food is 8/10. I like the husky burger. Plenty of beef with a delicious bun. I prefer the grilled onions. French fries always order them extra crispy and they're so good with the honey mustard. Service is amazing 10/10. G (I think that's her name) is extremely nice and willing to help with everything. I first ran into her a few days ago there and again today, her attitude was the same both days. Exuberant and friendly. Ambiance is 8/10.
