What really locked in the 5 stars was the service--friendly, attentive, and genuinely checking in without hovering. Skip the overthinking and order a cheesesteak. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. The food, of course, was good, served hot and as ordered. No complaints. Our server, Amy was outstanding. She was very knowledgeable and patient (we asked a lot of questions). She was also very friendly, genuinely friendly, not forced friendly because she had to be. You can always tell. It felt like being at an old friend's house for dinner. Great service truly (imo) enhances the meal. I'd definitely want Amy for our server the next time we visit!

After 25 minutes we checked in our food and was told there were only two staff working. The person behind the counter was working her tail off, was doing a fine job, and I felt sorry for her because the staff issue isn't her fault. It was lunch time and there were quite a few people there. This is the second time with an Eat N Park establishment in Monroeville that we've encountered poor service due to lack of staff. The table was mildly sticky, the booth seat was mildly uncomfortable, and there was a mild smell of dirty dishwater and/or urine at our seats. All-in-all, the restaurant feels tired and judging by the cleaning products and bucket placed on the ice cream bar, it looks like the workers are used to it being that way. It looks remarkably like the Max & Erma's in Cranberry right before it closed its doors. Service was prompt and friendly. No complaints at all. The food was on point and was as great as I remembered it to be. We got 2 quarts of tortilla soup to go so that we could share the nostalgia with our family and they were equally as smitten. I hope this place stays around and that it gets a little refresher. Generations of yinzers need their tortilla soup, buffalo chicken, and let's not forget those unforgettable cookies to go!
