This was my first time trying Burger Bodega, and I would have to say the food was fire! I ordered the Double Smash Burger and the Chopped Cheese, and personally, I enjoyed the Double Smash Burger more. It had a better flavor profile to my liking and was slightly less messy to eat compared to the Chopped Cheese. Both were good, but the Double Smash Burger definitely won me over. The Screw Fries were also crispy and tasty, with a nice crunch to every bite. They were a great addition to the meal and paired really well with the burgers.
Pudgy's Fine Cookies was pretty gas too! The cookie was fluffy, had a nice texture, and wasn't overly sweet like some of the other cookies I've had. Definitely a nice little treat to finish off the meal.
The service was pretty quick, and the staff were attentive to customers. They frequently checked in on us, helped clear tables, and made sure everyone was taken care of. I always appreciate a place where the staff are proactive without being overly intrusive.
As for the atmosphere, the restaurant was nicely decorated with a subway diner aesthetic and Houston-themed decor throughout. I thought the concept was pretty unique and had a lot of character. It almost reminded me of a less weird version of the convenience store at Meow Wolf in Vegas, which I thought was pretty cool.
Overall, great food, great service, and a great atmosphere! I can definitely see this being a nice spot for a casual date or a group hangout. I would come back, especially for that Double Smash Burger! read more
