Burger Bodega is one of my favorite places to go if I'm craving smash burgers. The concept of the restaurant is simple as they only have a few items on the menu, but everything is executed so well. I typically get the double smash burger and share the screwed fries with my partner. The servings are definitely fair as the fries are enough to share with others, and the burger is a good size. Flavor wise, everything works so well. The bodega sauce is great and I like getting the Harlem Aioli on the side to which they describe as a garlic aioli sauce. We were able to try the Vietnamese Coffee Milkshake and that was also super good. The coffee flavor is strong and overall works great in a shake format. Service was good as the line moves pretty fast, food came out in a timely manner, and the staff are constantly checking to see if you are doing good, or cleaning tables for more people to sit at. The ambiance of the restaurant is so cute with its bodega theme that makes me feel like we are in New York. They have seating above the restaurant too which is pretty cool. Overall, burger bodega is such a solid place to go with friends and family. Note: Parking is pretty difficult imo. They have a small parking lot behind the restaurant but typically is always full when I go. If you follow the signage, it will guide you to an additional lot they have about a block away. This has to be the best burger spot in the city and I've only been in the city twice, but I think I have my mind made up. I tried the burger bodega after going out and nothing taste better than a delicious smash burger had served up quick and with smile. My friend actually dropped her sandwich and they were so kind enough to remake it. I've been wanting to go to Burger Bodega for a long time and finally had a chance to stop by for a midweek lunch. I loved the bodega aesthetic and felt everything was clean. I can't imagine dining in during peak hours though since it's fairly small. You can maybe seat 24 people. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so I unknowingly ordered more food than I could finish. I got the smallest burger with two smash patties. It was topped with a special sauce, cheese, I believe onion and a pickle. I thought it was great and I loved how pillowy the buns were. I'm unsure if this is blasphemy to say about a smash burger but I kept wishing there was lettuce and tomato on it lol but overall it was a good bite. I also got the mango lassi milkshake which was as great as you'd guess. Finally I got the screwed fries which I wasn't that crazy about but not because they were bad, likely because by the point I was full and it was a large portion. As someone who's tried and usually failed to be a burger person, Burger Bodega was able to make me into one - their smash burgers are that good! What really makes it special is the aioli sauce, which is super garlicky and spicy. The balance between the patties and the bun is also perfect. I also love their Screwed fries, which are delicious alone but even better with the aioli sauce (clearly I'm obsessed with it). To top off the meal, in my opinion the Mango Lassi milkshake is just the right sweet touch. I've had this spot twice now, and overall it's solid. The first time was perfect. The bread was toasted just right and the chopped cheese hit the spot. Second time around, the bread was a bit greasy and soggy. Service was consistent both times, quick and friendly. Definitely a plus. Seating is super limited, and there is a patio/roof area. I had a taste of the fries, and they were fine... nothing special. I found the patties to be very small and thin. Don't expect to feel full if you're very hungry with just a double burger. The pickles are the sweet kind, which is not my preference. Overall, it was a tasty burger though. The decor was really fun, with fake products lining the wall to mimic a true bodega. Smash burger was seasoned to perfection and meant to be eaten straight in the car on the way home /on the street when piping hot. The overall vibe was so cool! Set up like a bodega, this place had a line out the door Sunday evening, but went by pretty quick. We ordered a strawberry milkshake, double smash burger and the screwed fries. The burger was really good and I enjoy the thin sliced patties. Sadly, I don't know of a single place that makes them on a regular basis near us in Montgomery Country. So when we had something to do in Houston, I knew that we finally needed to scratch her itch. I heavily debated ordering a triple instead of a double, and once I joined my wife at the table she was saving for us, she told me that she read that the doubles are pretty small. Damn. A minute late and a patty short. The burger was delicious, despite it's smaller size. Was it the best smash burger I've ever had? No, but it was really enjoyable and I'd happily eat it on a regular basis if it wasn't for that pesky hour commute. I also ordered the Chopped fries. As a teenager, I exclusively listened to chopped and screwed hip hop, so I appreciate the homage to that era on the menu. The fries did not taste like music in 2001 sounded, but they were tasty.
