Burger Bodega-mini edition

This spot is a nice throwback to your neighborhood burger joints. Their Double Smashburger with grilled onions is nice!!! Fresh pressed with a flavor profile for the majority. If you want to bump it up a notch, bring your own season to add. Both the smashburger and fries were piping hot and did not leave a ring of grease on the paper. Their service is jovial and everyone seemed to be vibing with the music playing in the background. The establishment is constantly being cleaned by the door attendants. The strawberry shake was ok, I think I will try it without whip cream next time and see if they have scoops of strawberries to add to the bottom. Try the sunset view from the second level!!

Solid four! The burger was great! The Mexican coke was warm. Thankfully I didn't need napkins! They were soaked in condiments. I would definitely go back and get this in person. Solid 4. Great burger. The fries were good. The burger seemed freshly made and tasted good. The bacon was solid too! Tasted like real high quality bacon. Easy four star review. Would definitely recommend them to anyone that has not tried them.

Amazing loaded fries. Fast and friendly service. Lots of parking available in a connected lot and another lot across the street

Tried Burger Bodega and honestly, it was just okay. I had higher expectations based on the hype, but it didn't really stand out to me. The burger was decent...nothing bad, just nothing memorable or different from other spots. The vibe is cool and it's a solid quick bite, but overall it didn't feel like anything special. Not a bad experience, just not one I'd go out of my way for again.

Smash Burger- Single...should've gotten a double or triple

I've been wanting to try their smash burgers for a while now since I had a friend who used to work at their pop ups before they had their brick and mortar on Washington. I still see all the long lines even late at night a couple years later. I had the single smash burger with fries. I liked the potato bun which is soft and adds some sweetness. Growing up, we used to buy potato bread and made sandwiches with it. It's nostalgic. The bodega sauce also reminds me of the fry sauce we made with ketchup and mayo. I regret not getting the double or triple patties cause the meat was smashed really thin and is smaller compared to other smash burger joints. It made it hard to really taste the actual burger meat and tasted more of bread and sauce. The fries were ok. I think it's thinly batter-coated to maintain crispiness which I'm not a fan of. I've seen other places do the same. I wish it had seasoning or something. I've tried the chopped cheese when they did the collab with The Kolache Shoppe and thought it had good flavor. I would try the double or triple smash next time, but I wouldn't want to go out of my way to wait in line for it. Plus, their burgers are pricey. I didn't see any combo options. I don't mind the other smash burger joints like Smashburger, Freddy's, and Trill. I love a good burger, but maybe I'm not as into the "smash" aspect. To each their own. Rodeo Goat still reigns supreme in my burger book!

Overall good burger with all the fun bodega vibes. I really appreciated all the details they put into the decor when designing this restaurant. I was quite satisfied with everything we got at the restaurant. Ordered: - Smash Burger - Fries - nice and crispy. - Screwed Fries - At first I felt like the bodega sauce and cheese didn't make a big difference in the fries, but the more I ate it the more I enjoyed it. We also felt they give you slightly more fries in this order than with the fries itself. - Mango Lassi Shake - yummy and definitely would get again. Parking lot here is quite limited so that can be a little sucky especially since they seem to be quite busy. Honestly a really good option for late night food.

This place is 100 percent a NYC bodega vibe meets h-town swag. The burgers have a perfect lattice to them and paired with the spicy bodega sauce and the cheese, it is pure heaven. One of the best smash burgers I've ever had. I come to houston for MD Anderson help every few months. This place is always an automatic visit. The shakes are crazy creamy and perfect too. Fries are just some great everyday fries with a good crisp. Compliments burger perfectly. The service is always quick and dope. They are very accommodating. They never mess my orders up with the many times I've been there. This place is a must visit, the inside theme is so good, with its 90s/2000s feel. Awesome art and decor. I'll always be back.

Double smashburger, side of fries, strawberry milkshake

Came in around 8:30pm on a Thursday night and it was still packed! The service is great; everyone is so kind and we got our food quickly. The place itself has an amazing vibe, decorated as a Houston-style bodega. Limited parking but there's street parking available as well. We ordered the double smashburgers, side of fries, and a strawberry milkshake (we ordered without whipped cream). The burgers come with cheese, grilled onions, and pickles; lettuce is a $0.25 add-on but they give you a good amount. The burgers are juicy, full of flavor, a decent size, a soo tasty! It didn't blow my mind, but a good burger for sure. The fries were crispy and soft on the inside, the milkshake tasted like real strawberries instead of the artifical stuff & was delicious! Definitely will be coming back!

Arrived to the burger bodega on a sunday around 1pm and was able to get the last parking spot in the back. Was greeted by friendly cashiers and servers. The vibe was cool, with a diverse crowd of patrons. Was here w the fam jam, everyone obviously ordered burgers and fries. The bun was this billowy potato bun with sparse condiments. Double patty ,smashed and crispy on the periphery of the meat. It was good, but for me it just didnt have the crack addict super high feeling i got when i first tried shake shack 15 years ago. I think the burger lacked beefiness. But maybe that's just the nature of a smash burger. Atmosphere cool, service awesome. Just didnt hit for me. The shake was yum per my kiddo -

Burger Bodega absolutely lived up to the hype. I went on a Tuesday night and the place was packed, which is always a good sign. Even with the long line, the ordering process was surprisingly fast and efficient, so we didn't have to wait long at all. One thing I really loved was being able to customize my burger so I asked for extra spice and it came out perfect. Super flavorful, juicy, and exactly what I was craving. You can tell they really pay attention to quality and taste. I also tried my friend's shake and wow!! It was so so creamy and delicious. Definitely getting one for myself next time.

Looking for a tasty smash burger while feeling like you transported to a gritty New York style hole in a wall restaurant? This is it. Menu is simple and so you know they only specialize in delicious burgers. The double smash burger has the right amount of ingredients and wasn't greasy and the patties weren't paper thin. It paired nicely with chopped fries. The fries wasn't drowning in cheese sauce which is good. Only thing I would like is for them to add a tad bit more chopped beef to give it more oommpppff. It was my first time and I def would come back. The price point is good. Beware though, there may be a long line!

Burger Bodega is definitely a place that needs a repeat visit. Their menu is straightforward and simple, the food came out quickly and the staff was really friendly. The packaging of the burger was super cute and I love the overall aesthetic. The burger was super delicious, not super greasy, and I really liked the sauce. The fries were also really delicious, I was surprised by the onion (in a good way). The only downside is that the day we went, it was cold and raining and seemingly everyone decided to go that day. The inside is really small though they have outdoor seating as well. We ended up kinda battling with a super large group that was trying to hold tables, which was really annoying, though we did end up getting to sit inside and eat. I'd like to go back and try again without the seating battle, maybe when the weather is better.

Smash Burger- Single and fries

I had a great time visiting this spot. The vibes inside are of a New York City Metro rail system. It starts with even the gift cards. They are selling at the register being an MTA pass. Very unique idea as you walk through the space the ambience resembles in New York Metro station and has flares of Houston with NASA signs and serial boxes with their marketing on it really unique. I ordered a double smash burger over lettuce as well as a single smash regular style. I also ordered a side of fries as well as cheese sauce, and their Harlem aïoli sauce. The smashed patty is laced crispy, but has meat under which pairs for a good combo and their grilled onions and sauce combo make for a great bite. The fries are very crispy, and the Harlem aïoli has ginger, garlic, and some sort of tang which makes for a nice dipping sauce for either the fries or the burger. The cheese sauce is the only recommendation I would give. It was too milky and didn't have enough of a cheese taste that would be my one recommendation. Other than that everything on the menu was great and I would recommend this spot.

Galleria/Uptown

So this place has a burger that's basically $20 (add bacon and it's 20)--and let me just say, they…read morecould charge $30! 'Cause it's worth it! A standard smashed Double cheeseburger and generous extra crispy impressively seasoned waffle fries as you want it cost $16 which is fair since adding the fries vs standalone burger is only $1 price differential. Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. One that even has a cool bathroom with a mirror that says "you look amazing." Exactly how you're going to feel about the food that looks even better than it does in its promo photos

Patty- juicy and full of flavor, Bun- toasted and soft at the same time, fries were crispy and salted to perfection and everything in between. Puts its local competitors to shame. Service was quick and friendly, they made great recommendations for first time customers. I actually ordered the wrong shake on accident and they gave me a second one for free. Glad to see that even in this economy the staff doesn't nickel and dime you. Great people Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a casual date, I'd honestly use any excuse to stop by again!

The brussel sprouts offered as an alternate side were pretty solid, we got two options and both had good flavor if not a little over seasoned. The burgers were bad. The patty was totally unremarkable and may be frozen out of the box patty. The rest of the toppings were fine, but nothing outstanding and nothing that could make up for an awful patty.
