Why 4 stars? Because the burger was a nice way to finish off the day. --- --- --- After leaving an Astros game, I wasn't really hungry, but I checked my bookmarks to see if there was anything else I *needed* to hit up before making my long journey back to the deep burbs. I saw that Boo's Burgers was only a few minutes away and I'd wanted to try it out for a bit, so we made our way over. I ordered an OG burger with fries and found it to be probably right in between 3 and 4 stars. I wouldn't need to rush back to have it again, but it was a pretty enjoyable experience overall. The sauce reminded me of McDonalds, but my wife said it reminded her of Whataburger. Fast food comparison aside, it didn't seem like a traditional smash burger because it came with some other fixins, which always throws me off. Maybe these are only rules in my head, but I feel like smash burgers only are supposed to have cheese and/or onions. Either way, it grew on my the more I ate it. Thanks Boo.
Best burgers in town! Boos burgers were on top 100 food places in the nation. Boo grill lean beef patties in beef tallow that he collects and preserves himself. Plus he toast the buns on the grill as well. This was the juice's burger ever. Friendly and attentive service. I just seen the location 5 days ago and he was catering by son's friend graduation event. And to think I was considering to share half my burger with my son. Yo this jawn was so amazing I gobbled the entire burger alone. And my son enjoy a couple or a few too. He open everyday outside of Sundays. Yes he's open on Memorial Day as well!!
Finally got to try Boo's burgers and glad I came on a Friday for their special. It's a casual, food stand really that has al fresco seating and is in the middle part of Navigation. The staff was super friendly, making conversation with everyone who came to order and being patient. I went with the OG boo's burger and the friday special, which was a shrimp poboy (some sort of fish/seafood for Fridays). I also got a basket of fries. I didn't end up eating there but brought it home and the ~15 min drive didn't change the quality of the food for me. The burger was a very good classic smash burger, crispy edges on the burger, nice ratio of innards to bread and wasn't a huge mess to eat (which I really appreciate). The shrimp poboy was also delicious, perfectly fried shrimp (and looots of it), crispy bread, and it just tasted nice and fresh. The fries were alright, nothing stand out on their own, lightly battered and held their crisp on my drive so that says something. I think the quality is definitely there at Boo's and I need to go back form the shroom and chicken burgers so those'll be on my list next visit!
Was I excited to stop by for Fish Fridays? Yes. Was my fish sandwich + (mini) fries + Jarrito's Pineapple soda combo worth $25? Absolutely not. Was I happy to support a Black-owned business? Yes. The service was super friendly, the fish was fresh, the bread was soft and toasty, and the wait time was bearable (there are plenty of nearby tables and an awning to sit under, away from the Houston heat as much as possible), but needless to say, I do not need to visit again for a pricey bagged lunch... I was at least expecting the fries to come in a size larger than what McDonald's may gave in a kid's meal...
Came here tonight and got two OG combos. One was a double and one original. Food came out quick and hot. The server at the counter was friendly. The double was better because it was a better ratio because the bun is pretty thick and honestly kinda was too much bread for just one patty. The fries were perfection, perfect amount of crisp to potato ratio. Lastly we tried a side of the garlic aioli dipping sauce which was a nice add for the fries. This spot only has outdoor seating. There were a ton of flies while we were eating, but it was a hot humid night so that checks out.
First timer and Boos did not disappoint. The "OG" burger was seasoned well and the fries were super crispy. The fish Friday sandwich was huge! Flavor was good but next time I may ask for a bun instead of texas toast and extra tartar sauce.
Boo's Burger is located on the median of Navigation Blvd. It's directly across the street from La Merida restaurant but don't use their parking lot. Instead park on the cross street St Charles next to Boo's. Boo's is a to go or dine outside type of eatery. The building is like a metal storage container type design with a covered ordering and pick up window and then outside tables (some with umbrellas) to dine on location. The menu here is very short and simple. 1 burger, 1 chicken sandwich, 1 vegetarian sandwich, 1 grilled cheese sandwich and a fish fillet sandwich only on Fridays. The only sides are fries and chips and soft drinks are canned and bottled. I ordered the Boo's OG burger for $12 and added the combo for $6 more that gave me fries and a canned coke. With tax it was $19.48. The food is made after the order and was ready about 10 minutes later. The burger comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, shaved onions, their OG sauce and homemade pickles. Homemade pickles are always a good sign of a very good hamburger. This was a really good tasting burger. It's not quite what I call a Smashburger type but it was cheesy and their OG sauce really adds to the flavor. The ingredients including their house in ground beef are very good but I thought the buttered challah bun stood out. The fries were not a let down like many burger places. These fries were really good tasting too. I enjoyed this meal. Quality food prepared and not mass produced. Come here and you will enjoy it. Keep in mind it's outside so factor in the weather. No drive thru so you will have to street park (free) to order and get it. Also at almost $20 for the burger with the fries and drink combo is a little on the expensive side for an outdoor restaurant like this. Their Friday fish sandwich alone is $17! Solid chicken sandwich, and while I'm not a fan of their mushroom burger, I can respect it. This is a good stall / stand located on Navigation with outside seating. The food took a while to cook up but it looked like a lean operation. The chicken sandwich was juicy and solid. I was not a fan of the sauce on the mushroom burger but the mushroom itself was crispy and fried well. They both looked very nice. We witnessed a crazy armed robbery of two men robbing a lady with her baby while we were eating our food, right across the street on N St Charles St. Be wary of this general area and any suspicious individuals; the cops didn't have an effective response.
This place has been on my "Hit List" for a year now. Which is hard to believe it took me this long to stop by as this spot is walking distance from my house. Anyways, this was one of the best smash burgers I've ever had! the meat was juicy and tender to the point you didn't really have to chew it. Well seasoned and very fresh lettuce and tomatoes. I did decide to have my onions grilled. My only complaint was the house sauce they put in was good but a little to much of it. The fries were also perfect. Crunchy exterior while being soft on the inside. Make sure to let them know you're from the neighborhood for that hook up!
Good hamburger and fries, and good counter service. I really liked the location and reuse of the building, though it took me a minute to figure out where to park. The outdoor dining area was cool too. I got OG, double, all the way. I'd go no shredded lettuce next time because the bun got a bit soggy. The beef was great though. $26+ for the combo was entirely too much.
Came here after watching Chris Shepherd feature them on the latest episode of Eat Like A Local. I have to say I agree with Chris... they are worth the drive. Situated in a walk up neighborhood spot, we ordered the entire menu. The OG burger - a delicious single patty smash style burger but with all the fixins (not just cheese and a bun) just the way I like it. The Chicken Sandwich - seasoned to perfection with a delicious juiciness. The Oyster Mushroom Vegan Burger - surprisingly full of flavor and texture with just the right accents of pickles The Friday Fish Sandwich - fried cod served with house made herbal tartar sauce The Grilled Cheese - served on Japanese milk bread, I would say this was the weakest of the items... I wish the bread was a little thicker. Fries - Crispy and delicious with the sauces Overall I rated this a 9.2/10. Really support this local burger spot and hope they do well enough to expand to a neighborhood closer to me (Med Ctr/West U/Rice Village)!
Went back for their fish fry Friday's and was disappointed... which sucks cause I was excited. I presumed I'd get a catfish sandwich but it was only shrimp po boys. I like those too so I didn't mind getting that instead. One pro is they are generous with the shrimp and the shrimps aren't little so you get what you pay for. The overall po boy wasn't that great. The shrimp had a funny subtle taste to it that I didn't like. I asked for no pickles & got pickles anyway. The bread didn't carry well - I only traveled 12 mins to my destination from the restaurant and it was already soggy. I wouldn't get this again I'm going to stick to the chicken sandwich. Not to mention they didn't give me my drink when I paid for the combo. Disappointed I spent $20 something bucks on a meal I didn't not enjoy.
Love, love, love. Maybe the best burger in town?? Possibly??? That burger was sooo good. I was just ok with the cheese fries but irrelevant when you bite into that burger! So much flavor! The location -- The best window/counter service ever! The guy helping us out was super excited and knowledgeable about what they had to offer. He even came to check on us again even though it is counter service only. Outdoor seating only. We were able to find street parking near by. Can't wait to try the other things they intermittently offer like fish, chicken sandwiches, and I just saw gumbo last weekend!!!
This little burger joint is located near fifth ward in the middle of a street! There isn't a parking lot so you have to street park and walk over but the burger is so worth it! I got their famous shroom burger combo which comes with a drink of your choice (they only serve classic glass bottled drinks!) and a side of fries. The total came to about $22 which was a little pricey but everything was really fresh and good. The shroom burger comes with a bed of slaw, pickles, creamy sauce, and bunch of really crispy fried oyster mushrooms. This was my first time ever having a vegetarian burger and honestly I was blown away by how rich and flavorful the mushrooms were! They really complimented all the other elements. The bun is a really soft and buttery challah bread which made the burger super moist. By the time I finished the burger I was a little too full for the fries however I will say the fries were SO crispy and well seasoned! Was very impressed by them too. Only downside was the seating situation, there was shade but it was super hot outside since they only have outdoor seating. Service took a little bit since I ordered with a group of friends but they put a lot of care into the food so I think it's worth it! read more
I got there right when they opened. My burger was hot and juicy and was obviously cooked to order. I'm not a huge fan of veggies on a burger, but for simplicity's sake I ate it as it was prepared, and how it was described in the menu. I felt the meat was a little under-seasoned, but overall I had nothing to complain about. Service was fast and efficient, if not a little on the dry side. Hey, I was paying for food, not trying to have them be my bestie. Is it Houston's best burger ... ? No. Is it a good burger ... ? Yes. When you're hungry, that's all that matters. read more
We ordered lunch through door dash pickup. The og burger didn't show up in the door dash choices until 11:18am. Which was really odd but it was fine. There wasn't a wait when I arrived. The 4 meal combos were bagged individually and labeled so I greatly appreciated that. Parking is weird. I parked in another restaurant's lot and hopped across the street to get the food. It's like a small shop in the middle of the median. I've heard people wait in long longs for this burger. The burger was pretty good with all the extra stuff to dress up the meat. The fries were crispy, the garlic aioli sauce was solid. My garlic and onion breath was so strong afterwards. I was so full after all was said and done. I think people should try it out. read more

Cute little take-out burger stand. Boo Burgers is set up as a walk-up window with a few outdoor seats, but it's mostly a grab-and-go spot. I ordered the Boo's OG, and the burger was actually pretty tasty juicy and satisfying. It costed about $12z Service was pretty standard at a pick up window. They have tables outside. They have a few different sauces, and I tried the spicy mayo. It reminded me of a spicy queso-mayo mix or even a pimento cheese vibe definitely different, but worth trying. Absolutely delicious. The bun is perfectly buttery and slightly crisp and sooooo soft inside. The flavors of the burger are a delight. It's like the veggies were cut perfectly catered to this burger. I know that sounds silly, but really-- everything is so crisp and thin. It helps everything melt together. Literally loved it. This has been upgraded to my favorite smash burger in houston. The guys working the front were super nice and chill. I plan on being back Almost offended that they gave me ketchup. I LOVE ketchup. But this didn't need it. read more
Boo's Burgers is officially my favorite burger spot in Houston! Even though it seems like a simple burger stand in ambiance, they are making QUALITY burgers, while supporting the community at the same time. Located in the East End on Navigation, this is an area of Houston that is definitely on the come up. What started out as pop ups around Houston, now has their own brick n mortar. What I love the most though is how they are now giving back to other pop ups like Aleng Ninas. Giving back to the community and 10/10 service will always win in my book. I first came here for the AlengNinas pop up, and that Filipino inspired bistek burger was the BEST burger I've had in a really long time. They also did a really cool Filipino fusion tocino fries with a fried egg on top. You taste the quality of Boo's Burgers, but adding that Filipino twist of flavor was a game changer. Thank you Boo's Burgers for showcasing Filipino flavors and helping to support the Houston community, I'll be a regular here for sure. read more

Already planning my next trip! No notes. Cutesy simple burger stand. And service with a smile. I had been seeing all of Chef Joseph Boudreaux's press all over social media and Culture Map etc. I loved his message of trying to make affordable items for people that look like him, in his community. I didn't know he had been doing burger pop ups a while around the city before he settled into a brick & mortor. Food-I ordered the OG and it was yummy. I plan to try the shroom burger next, the reviews say it's good! I didn't try the fries, was trying to be good girl, but likely will next time. I had only planned to eat half the burger at my visit and save it for later, but it was too juicy I couldn't resist and ate the whole thing in one sitting. It's a great burger ratio of toppings, sauce, patty, and bun. Ingredients tasted fresh. The website also has a grilled cheese listed but I didn't see it on the menu, looking forward to that if it comes! I also see they had a fish sandwhich, wasn't sure if it had already sold out was a previous special or not, I forgot to ask sadly. Service- was great Chef rung me up and gave me the # to be called at the pick up window. Prompt and quick. The website said they have a small inside area to order from, but I only saw the order counter on the outside, perhaps I missed where the door was? I found this place through an influencer on IG. I was in the area and stopped by and decided, against my better houston summer heat judgement, to eat there. Found a covered spot and dug in!! The fries and the burger were delish. My dad decided to stop by and ate one, too! He's very picky about meat, and loved his! His only complaint, after eating the whole burger, was that it was too salty for his liking. If you're in the area, def give this place a try. read more
Parking is limited and the wait might be long so please be mindful of those two things! The staff were super friendly and even offered free water while we waited. I waited in line maybe 15 mins and another 15 mins for the food. I was able to sit in covered area while waiting to order and there is also uncovered seating to enjoy your food once you get it. I highly recommend eating it there if possible. The burger and the fries were seasoned very well! The burger was freshly cooked, medium well. I added bacon to mine. This burger felt was true homemade goodness. I highly recommend the shrooms Sammie and I rarely like mushroom sandwiches. The mushrooms were crispy and seasoned so well that I could barely tell I was eating mushrooms. read more
Cute little place. Outdoor seating is limited. I thought it was called Boo's burger bc it's adjacent to a cemetery. But it's the founders Joseph Boudreaux's nick name. We ordered one of everything. My favorite was the mushroom burger! And the fish sando! So crispy and flavorful. The chicken was crispy and you can taste the seasoning. The burger is juicy too and I appreciate it's not just bread meat and cheese. Least favorite was the grilled cheese. Fries were extra crispy. Def recommend. I hope they open more locations like by my house lol. read more
The fish sandwich is the best i've had it was perfectly fried, moist, and had a really balanced flavor. The cole slaw adds a nice touch of freshness to the sandwich to balance the flavors. Service was great very friendly and accommodating ate this outside when there was really nice weather so overall 10/10 worth to ! read more

This is a simple place, with a window to order at, and some public outdoor seating. The food was amazing. My husband really enjoyed his burger. The shroom burger is what makes this place really stand out. It was phenomenal. We also got the cheese fries to share, but the he toppings that were mentioned, so I went back up to the window to ask. A few minutes later, the owner came out with a cup of the spice that had been mentioned, he said he had gotten some complaints about the spice level, so had made the decision to leave it off and apologized. We really enjoyed the spice level. I also complimented how delicious the mushroom burger was, and he told me he thought non-meat eaters deserved something different. I am very grateful to him for this. He was super friendly. I would definitely highly recommend this place. read more

Finally tried Boo's Burgers with my friend and we decided to go on a Friday night. They have no dedicated parking lot so you're gonna have to find street parking somewhere. They also only have outdoor seating here. I was very intrigued by their shroom Sammie so I ordered that as a combo with their fries and a bottle of coke. The shroom Sammie includes marinated oyster mushroom clusters that are fried and stuffed in a challah bun. It's dressed with lemon pepper wet sauce, garlic aioli, pickled and cabbage, and mustard green slaw. My friend couldn't eat meat due to lent so they got the Friday special shrimp po'boy. They stuff so many fried mushroom clusters in the shroom Sammie it kinda felt like I was getting more than a normal burger. These mushrooms were also so amazing!! Fried to perfection with a crisp coating and good seasoning, and the mushrooms inside are so soft and juicy. It was bigger than I thought it was going to be. Their sauce is pretty banging as well. My only critique is that I would've preferred more slaw but I still over my sandwich just the way it was. The fries had a nice crisp as well and the inside was very fluffy. The shrimp po'boy included shrettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on a roll. The shrimp they use here were big and that seasoning on it is soo good. They give you a ton of shrimp too. These were also nicely fried. We loved everything we had here and would definitely come back. No exaggeration. The best burger I have EVER eaten. In no way was I prepared to be hit by that train of flavooooors. I don't know how I'll ever be able to eat a burger anywhere else and not be disappointed. Fries and garlic aioli stood up to the burger. Friendly service. Bit of a wait in line, but the food came out pretty quickly once we ordered. Good vibes, very casual. read more
