Friendly cashier, wait time as expected for freshly cooked food. Food was delicious. Would definitely eat here again.

For dinner, I had the Johnson Club, onion rings, and sweet tea. The club was and still is one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The amount of protein is plentiful, and the addition of the egg puts this over the top. The restaurant is a bakery so the bread used for the sub is soft and fresh. The onion rings were hot, had the perfect amount of crisp and they were not soggy like other places I've been to. Overall, I left with nostalgia and I am definitely looking forward to coming back! Customer Service: Upon arrival, the waitresses welcomed me in and invited me to sit anywhere. I was promptly tended to and my waitress was soooooo friendly!!! It's the southern charm and politeness I miss the most about North Carolina and neighboring areas. Already knowing the sandwich I wanted, I took her advice between the fries and onion rings and she didn't steer me wrong! I appreciate her work ethic and making sure that everyone in the dining room had what they needed and helping a few others (some first timers!) decide on what they wanted. Ambiance: This place is casual, and intimate in a way. It's not a huge space but it's big enough for multiple groups to enjoy lunch or small families to have a sit-in dinner. I highly recommend this place as a stop on any commute between Charlotte and the Research Triangle Area.

This is a serve yourself, clear the table like a McDonalds. Requesting a tip upfront before receiving pizza and being self serving restaurant I found this over and above. Someone brings pizza to table when cooked. Otherwise it's on you. I spoke with the cashier about this and he said it was the owners thing. Seems like money grabbing to me to pay the bills. I think this will chill more customers than is worth it. Maybe not, maybe just me‍

We started with the Pimento Cheese Hushpuppies, which I had high hopes for. They were a bit over‑fried and dry, with more breading than cheesy center, and the jalapeño bacon jam was watery and didn't quite complement the hushpuppies. That said, the concept is fun, and with a thicker, chunkier jam, I think they'd really shine. The Fried Oysters, however, were a completely different story. Perfectly breaded, not overly heavy, and full of flavor. My husband--who's keto and peeled the breading off--still commented on how good the oysters themselves were. If anything, we just wished the portion was bigger. The star of the starters for me was the She Crab Soup. Creamy, rich, and loaded with crab. It was one of those dishes you keep going back to between bites of everything else. And here's my pro tip: dip the hushpuppies into the soup. It transformed them from dry to delicious, and I even suggested to our server that the kitchen consider offering them together. For my entrée, I had the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with a side of pasta salad. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the Thai‑inspired sauce had a sweet kick that I honestly wish there had been more of. The pasta salad was classic but surprisingly good--fresh, balanced, and better than most versions I've had lately. My husband ordered the Salmon & Shrimp Scampi, swapping the pasta for extra spinach to stay keto. Both proteins were cooked beautifully, full of flavor, and plated generously. Overall, the meal had a few highs and a couple of misses, but the quality of the ingredients and the creativity of the menu make this a place I'd absolutely visit again. With a little fine‑tuning on a few items, 2 Twelve has the potential to be truly exceptional.

My meal, the Charleston Crab Cakes, was really good too (I asked that they put the creamed corn on the side -- the crab cakes will come on top of the creamed corn if you don't make a special request). But when (not if) we return, I will be ordering the seafood pasta for sure because it was that good! A friend recommended the pork chops and the burgers. The ambience is quaint and the indoor dining space is very small and cozy. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived. I recommend making a reservation if you don't want to dine outdoors. It was January so too cold for us to eat outdoors because there is no heating and the overhead fans were on! Also, please bring a little patience for parking because this restaurant is in an area of downtown with limited parking.

It was a great suggestion as my food was very good. We ate on the Smokehouse side (there is a deli side as well that share the space and a unique speciality market as well). I ordered their "2-Meat and 2-Sides" meal, and chose the smoked Prime Beef brisket and pulled pork with scalloped potatoes and baked beans. Many other meats were available. The portions were good but the price was rather high but to be expected for this kind of restaurant. It was all excellent. The brisket was smoked and cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. It was not too fatty. The pulled pork was great too as were both my sides. It came with three hush puppies about the size of golf balls or slightly larger. There was plenty of seating despite it being very busy. They have a selection of adult beverages and several unique hard liquor drinks that looked interesting but I just had water. I'll eat here again. I would have liked to have explored the market area further but we did not have time.

So when I say the "whole world", I mean it! Bre, one of the servers, and the rest of the staff always take good care of me. The room temperature is comfortable which is a biggie for me. It's a cozy place to hang with family or friends. They are known for their pizza and burgers, as well, but the Cobb Salad is my go to. It is reasonably priced and takes me 2 days to eat. We waited longer to be seated than need be considering it was a virtually empty restaurant. Wait staff was walking around tending to the few tables, but we weren't greeted. Our waitress was nice/friendly, but not very attentive. All the wait staff were wearing (too short) shorts and T-shirts, looking like they just got back from the beach. Husband ordered a burger, medium, with fries. I ordered the ribs with chips and mac n cheese. The food came SUPER QUICK. From order to the time it came out, it couldn't have been more than FIVE minutes. Sadly, the food was just warm, and mediocre, AT BEST! Husbands burger was nearly raw. Sent it back. My ribs were almost cold by the time his replacement burger came out. It took at least ten minutes. This time, it was WELL DONE, and not even juicy. Rather than send it back, he ate it. He was hungry. My chips were over done, the mac n cheese was greasy and slightly clumpy. The ribs were tender, but somewhat mushy, and not super flavorful. I WOULD like to give it another try, hopefully it will be better next time.

You enter the building and then turn left to formally enter the Knucklehead space. It's a little tricky if the line forms as it either block the drink machine or has to weave into the entry area. The order process is easy and the menu simple enough with classic and a few more unusual items. Your meat is cut and plate is assembled right in front of you which is always a nice touch. I ordered the Brisket plate with baked beans and mac and cheese and a soda. The total was $27, a little over $30 with a tip. No cheap but there was a really healthy portion of meat and sides on the tray. I'm a sauce guy so I sampled all that they offered. House was good. I didn't think the spicy was especially hot. The white knuckle is interesting. With the brisket, I think I liked the vinegar based sauce the best. The brisket slices were thick with a little bit of the burnt end and some fat. All the best parts if you ask me. The mac and cheese looked great and had a bread crumbs sprinkled on top. I thought the flavor was just ok. Maybe more salt or a more flavorful cheese. I just didn't taste much. On the other hand, the baked beans were awesome. Sweet with what I think I identified as a yellow mustard-vinegary flavor. I love those. Knuckleheads is a cool spot and I hope they continue to thrive in Mebane.
