Staff very friendly. Asked if we wanted it to go or eat inside. She also said there's outside seating and it was a nice day for it. The Food was great. Fries were spot on.. and the bacon burger comes with chopped onions, tomato, lettuce, cheese, and thousand island. Was also asked if we wanted condiments. No bugs outside and it was nice with a little breeze. The inside of the restaurant could be cleaner but overall it was a good experience.

Logger Burger

Burger Barn seemed to be THE stop for many hikers that were passing through, including me. I saw Burger Barn while on my way to the North Cascades and made a note to check it out after my long hike on the way back home. Located in Darrington, it's right off a major roadway that you drive through to get to the North Cascades area from the west. With that said, it was an easy stop for some grub while road tripping. I visited in the late afternoon on a Saturday and the place was busy with hikers. You order through a takeout window as they do not have indoor dining (and no public restrooms), but there's plenty of outdoor seating in the back and side of the eatery. If you're dining there, someone brings out your food to you. The menu had a long list of different burgers, fry baskets, milkshakes, etc. I ordered the logger burger, which had two patties and cheese with veggies and house sauce, a small seasoned fries with ranch and a brownie milkshake. Despite the influx of hikers getting food here, the food didn't take long to get. The burger wasn't bad, but not anything special. I was surprised to learn that the logger burger was served between a hoagie because I thought it was a stacked burger, but I guess that's why it's named logger. I did order it without onion and unfortunately, there was diced onion on the burger that I had to scrape off. At first, I was happy that the seasoned fries were waffle fries; however, when I ate them they were sooo salty. I couldn't even eat them because of how salty they were. Not worth the extra charge for seasoned fries versus plain fries. Of all the items, the milkshake was fantastic. I highly recommend the milkshake and since I had the brownie one, it had chunks of brownie, which I loved. For how pricey the food is, I can't say I'd come back. I'm always down to support a local business, but I found Burger Barn to be meh.

Food is OK but over $60 for a family of 4 to eat is crazy. Service can be a little slow at times too.

Super friendly. Burgers were good, a little heavy on the sauce though. Fries, onion rings, and zucchini were good too.

We ordered burgers and I asked for my fries 5x crispy. The cook adhered to my request and honestly exceeded my expectations. The burgers were stellar. Well assembled, not overly greasy, patties slightly charred at the edges and they didn't fall apart. Reasonably priced as well. Exactly what we were looking for, exceeding expectations for a small town, local restaurant. Service and food were so good we returned on 5/10. This time we ordered a pizza, burger and onion rings. The pizza dough was pretty undercooked on the bottom. The crust was done well however. I will give the benefit of the doubt and attribute it to a fluke as the service remained amazing and the rest of the food was outstanding. The burger maintained its rating from the previous days meal. The onion rings were fantastic. Perfectly fried and crispy/crunchy. I was able to break them in half/bite off a piece and the breading remained stuck to the onion. Also, if you're a Bigfoot enthusiast, this is your kind of place (I'm a Bigfoot enthusiast). Overall a fantastic experience. Shoutout to Bre for being a wonderful server. To the cook, keep doing what you're doing because that was food was delightful. 10/10 recommend.

It was so crowded! The service itself wasn't great which is saying something given there are no servers. You wait in line and order at the front, then you find a table (if you're lucky) and they bring the food out to you. Last Saturday, our cashier was a young blonde female and she genuinely seemed miserable. An incredibly unwelcoming presence and that followed with similar service by the rest of the staff. It was odd given the very minimal interactions most people probably have with the staff to begin with. The food is good. If you want a burger and fries and some huge onion rings, this is your place. It's not an out of this world burger and definitely not a place I'd recommend because of the food itself but the atmosphere. It's really what makes this restaurant so fun. It wasn't the food and definitely not the customer service for me. It was the atmosphere. Therefore, I probably won't go back. Food service is one of the hardest jobs in my opinion and I don't want to ever take my family and friend back to a place where I felt like an inconvenience just ordering my food. Disappointing and at the same time, check it out. Maybe it'll be different when you go. I'm hoping so!

I absolutely love the outdoor seating area as it is nestled among the pine trees and there are lots of seating options and some games you can play while waiting for your food. Beautiful surroundings. What most people come here for are the yummy large burgers and fries and shakes, etc. Although in their menu the offer sandwiches, wraps and salads too. Everyone I saw while there had burgers on their trays. The appetizers are also very yummy. We shared the garlic cheese curds to start and they were very tasty and served hot. Among our group of 5 people we tried a variety of the burger options including Jalapeno Burger, Grilled Onion Burger. I substituted the sweet tempura brussels sprouts for fries and another did onion rings. The rest of us had the delicious fries. The burgers were very big and difficult to finish for several of us so we took a lot of it home. While here we also ordered the special "Doggy Burger" for our dog. This is a basic cooked hamburger which we chopped up for the dog. And I also ordered a slice of the white chocolate raspberry dessert that the worker said was fresh out of the oven. That had to come home for a later day as we were stuffed. Great tasting food here! I'll be back.

Five months ago, on a Saturday or Sunday, my boyfriend and I had lunch at The Baked Cafe. The burgers were good, the buns were mediocre, and the fries were outstanding. The meal was over $40, without drinks. The owner was the only person working. After reading other reviews, we expected a wait, but over a half hour was excessive. There are only two booths, and we were lucky to get one. Because of this, you may end up taking your food to go or eating outside. I left a honest review after our experience, and the owner responded (more like reacted) quite unprofessionally. He mentioned Wednesdays; we were not there on a Wednesday. He mentioned that if we prefer "nutty" (it's Nutty's) or "five guy" (it's Five Guys), that he "felt sorry" for us. Well, I won't feel sorry for him when his business fails.
